Love it tomandlorenzo.com/2014/09/george-clooney-and-amal-alamuddin-get-married-part-two/ and I can't wait to see the frock. Even though the whole wedding has been too brash for me and abit not right with it. I love the way she dresses. Call me shallow but this is S & B!

All about context. Fashion is a frivolous element of work, until fashion is your work.

I need to leave the office now though Grin.

specialsubject · 29/09/2014 21:06

arms are not supposed to go IN above the elbows, are they?

I know flab and wobble aren't good, but this is just as bad.

trousers too long. Designer can't do hems, it seems.

mignonette · 29/09/2014 21:06

You should see some of the glamourous women who work at the EU in Brussels. I went there last year for a conference and some of the French and Italian women DID look like sleek, groomed and amazingly dressed film stars. Politicians and economists, the lot of them. In Manolos and Tabitha Simmons stillies, no less.

thesaurusgirl · 29/09/2014 21:08

Actually, I hear she is very well liked by her colleagues, Mignonette.

yazzy85 · 29/09/2014 21:11

I like her makeup and lipstick colours, suit her complexion well without being too bold or clashing with her outfits...

mignonette · 29/09/2014 21:15

She knows how to dress. Near the inappropriate lady in red..Wink

Nice suit. I wonder who the lady in jeans and a cardie is? I wonder what the occasion was, they all seem to be dressed for completely different events.

William Hague needs to learn to tie his tie more elegantly Grin.

thesaurusgirl · 29/09/2014 21:36

Her lipstick is amazing.

thesaurusgirl · 29/09/2014 21:37

Do we think she uses Lipcote? If I wore fuchsia lips they'd be on my blouse before breakfast.

beeny · 29/09/2014 21:39

I know a friend who is chambers with her says she hardly works but good luck to her and George.

BecauseIsaidS0 · 29/09/2014 21:40

Hourglass' liquid lipstick sets in and doesn't move for love nor money. Fab stuff, although a bit drying (but I have a dry lips issue so YMMV)

BecauseIsaidS0 · 29/09/2014 21:41

beeny, so why is she so widely reported to be running super high profile cases? Do you think there's been a PR campaign to raise her profile in preparation for the wedding?

thesaurusgirl · 29/09/2014 21:51

Probably because it makes a better story for the papers. She was representing Julian Assange but she must have been one of a team of juniors because she was only called to the Bar in 2010.

herethereandeverywhere · 29/09/2014 21:55

I happened to be in the same place as Amal recently so got to 'see her up close'. It's actually refreshing to see someone billed as improbably perfect in the flesh as you realise she's just another woman. She's really tall and very, very thin but in reality the thinness (I think it was that) is really ageing. I'd have pitched her as mid 40s had I not seen her age in print. Her hair is stunning. She is very, very photogenic and doesn't quite have the same 'wow' factor in reality (for me).

I'm a huge fan of her career and in awe of the heights she's climbed to at 2 years younger than me. I don't really care much for what she ooks like or who she married but it was so interesting to see her for real.

BecauseIsaidS0 · 29/09/2014 22:06

Extremely photogenic people often look a bit weird in real life.

SinglePringle · 29/09/2014 22:30

How is that a teens outfit Confused?

I'm 44 and would definitely wear it. Very elegant and beautifully cut (trousers are an inch too long however).

santamarianovella · 29/09/2014 23:00

pringle I wasn't referring to her civil wedding outfit, but to an outfit she wore in that blog link, she really has strange choice when it comes to shoes too, they are completely wrong for any outfit she is wearing, chunky and just weird,
She looks way more polished and put together now

Awks · 29/09/2014 23:04

Man alive those two are just edible. Gah.

mignonette · 30/09/2014 08:02

I am superficial clearly - I need to know what lipstick brand she uses!

angeltulips · 30/09/2014 08:33

She didn't defend Julian Assange. She wasn't part of his team. She may have done legal research or bundling or something but she definitely wasn't his counsel.

This makes me think she is smoke and mirrors. Apart from that she seems a pretty lady (although seems to have lost half her bodyweight) and I wish them well.

BecauseIsaidS0 · 30/09/2014 08:34

I still think the best celeb wedding dress EVER was Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy's.

angeltulips · 30/09/2014 08:36

Dress is pretty. Don't like her bony shoulders. She could have bought it for a couple of grand.

cheeseandpineapple · 30/09/2014 08:42

Those two are literally aiming to rule the world, they've got their eye on the Whitehouse. The new Bill and Hilary but easier on the eye.

George needs Amal for credibility as he develops his political career and she she's up for the big league.

It's a marriage of convenience...

mignonette · 30/09/2014 09:11

I can't see it as I have Tea & Kittens DM blocker.

Haven't they done wonders for Venice tourism wise though? I last went ten years ago but we booked tickets last night for a week there in late March next year (before it gets too smelly!). Took one look at the ravishing photos of the city and thought 'I have to go back.'
