5-Day Makeover Plan

WhatsGoingOnEh · 29/09/2014 10:25

Anyone fancy joining me? I feel HIDEOUS and want to tackle it. I've got no evening plans this week so I'm going to follow a home-made makeover plan to try to look and feel better by Saturday, even if it's just purely psychological and I look exactly the same to everyone else.

I have 20lbs weight to lose which will be a longer-term thing. This week is just to kickstart me, and stop me feeling so depressed and fugly. When I feel better, I naturally eat better and feel more positive. This is just to kickstart that.

The plan:
Follow a diet. Any diet allowed. Anything to lose 3-5lbs.
Every day, do 45 minutes' exercise.
Every night, go to bed at 10pm.
Every day, do one or more 15-minute makeover treatment from the list below.
Every day, drink 8 glasses of water.
Every day, whiten teeth.
Book a couple of bigger treatments, like dentist, facial, massage, etc.

Makeover list:
Dye eyelashes/brows
Do pore strip
Deep-condition hair
Facepack
Body exfoliation
Manicure
Pedicure
Fake tan
Sort out wardrobe - get autumn clothes ready
Chuck/Ebay/give away things I never wear
Wash make-up brushes
Sort out make-up bag, and piles of beauty stuff I've bought but never used
Watch beauty tutorials on YouTube
Wear moisturiser underneath gloves/socks in bed
Sort underwear into matching sets, ditch the grey shiat
Sort workout gear out, so I actually have nice things to wear to the gym
Have a sauna/steam at the gym
Do workout from Workouts App

If you have any other ideas for makeover treatments, please add below!

Would live others to join me. Otherwise I'll carry on, bravely alone Wink, and use this thread for Accountability.

whippet - yes, it's not at all scary. If you get nervous, wash it off after just a couple of minutes instead of the full 10.

ARGH - I'm the same! Don't really know what to do tonight to pamper. :)

WhatsGoingOnEh · 01/10/2014 22:16

I could do all the clothes-sorting out i suggested but it doesn't feel like lovely pampering, it feels like tidying.

Wait -- fake tan! That's it! Look healthier and thinner immediately! I'll do that. Can you do that too?

Oh dear, my evening hasn't gone to plan and I now stink of vomit. Got a sick toddler here.

I feel very glam.

I'll start again tomorrow. Night night.

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 02/10/2014 08:34

well I walked to the cinema last night, drank soda waterin the pub after and had a better nights sleep than I have for a while, did my full cleanse routine before bed, rubbed in the footcream, handcream and vaselined my nails. The 7 day diet is going really well and today I feel fine. I have made an effort to coordinate my work outfit today and feel nice, have made a list of all the sorting / tidying / decluttering I need to do at the weekend so will be so busy I won't even miss DH Smile think I might tackle the eyebrows tonight and get the lightener bleach stuff on my arm hair.

ninawish · 02/10/2014 11:23

hello all

well last night I salt exfoliated my feet and ankles and then put rose hip oil on them and then a layer of Nivea (the classic old thick one) before I got into bed and woke up to much softer feet

moisturised after shower last night (I've been using the spray moisturiser so much easier in my mind, I have a mental block on body moisturising - I find it simple to spray on whole body and then just quickly rub in while putting on underwear etc and it dries super quickly, I can't stand greasy legs)

I bought the dry brush and am going to do that before shower in a minute and do the foot file before shower too

will exfoliate face in shower

will do full body moisturise after shower and another bedtime foot treatment

tomorrow plan to fake tan and pluck hairs from where they shouldn't be

:-)

ARGHtoAHHH · 02/10/2014 11:29

When you say salt exfoliated your feet, can you elaborate? Sounds good and simple but not sure how to go about it. Even though I filed my feet the other day, they are still not as soft as I would like

ninawish · 02/10/2014 14:06

@ARGHtoAHHH

I make up a salt scrub - pour salt (any kind but fine rock salt is good but regular salt is ok too or a combo) and oil (olive, vegetable, jojoba or any) into a jar and mix - just fill the jar half with salt and then pour on oil, add essential oils if you like and herbs etc anything goes really (google diy salt scrubs and you'll get loads of recipes but I find the simpler the better)

then just scoop out little handfuls of the oily salt mixture and rub onto feet - I usually do it in the bath as it's easier to hold your foot up and then just rub the oily salt over and over for a few mins and if you have time do another lot

you can also buy salt scrubs too, I first had a pricey one years and years ago think it was Origin and it was brilliant but thought it would be pretty easy to copy

if you do the salt scrub on feet every day in a few weeks they are amazingly soft and really can see a difference - if you follow it with a rich cream even better

hope that helps, oh and you can use the scrub all over if you have time

magicpixie · 02/10/2014 14:40

well done op
good plan

ARGHtoAHHH · 02/10/2014 15:21

Thanks nina

will try that, tonight if I have the energy

ChablisChic · 02/10/2014 16:16

Well, I've had a good day so far, and managed to stay off the wine and sugar last night despite a stressful day, so woke up feeling pretty good this morning.

I was working from home, so had time to do an all over body brush and exfoliate before my shower, with a facemask on while I did it. After I'd done my few hours work I went through my wardrobe and took up and pressed a pair of trousers, sewed on a button, mended a seam that had unravelled and de-bobbled a knitted dress and my winter coat. So everything is wearable and smart now - very satisfying! I've also stuck to my no wheat/sugar/alcohol since the weekend, and have a veggie dinner planned, so I'm hoping the scales will be kind to me in the morning.

SuperGlue · 02/10/2014 19:29

You are all doing so well!

I have stuck to the healthy eating since last weekend, last Friday I was 11st 11lbs and this morning I was 11st 9lbs so that's progress. I am finding the evenings hard though with the temptation to have a glass of wine, but I have resisted. I have a headache today and am in a foul mood. I seem to have raging PMT and I am acting like a bitch Sad

Peaky Blinders starts back on BBC2 tonight at 9 so I will have dd in bed and I have promised myself a nice G&T. Work is super stressful too so I am glad its coming up to the weekend. And I have discovered I have less money in my a/c than I had thought! Not good..

ARGHtoAHHH · 02/10/2014 21:54

Well done everyone.

Tonight I had a long, hot shower and cleaned the vomit from my hair. And deep conditioned it while I was there. Lots of moisturiser all over and foot scrubbing again. Feel great. Thanks for the motivation girls!

Clackety · 03/10/2014 08:23

Right, first things first! As a result of the shower thread (which went a bit random but I got the gist) I'm going to spend the weekend sorting out my environment so I actually want to do all these lovely beautifying things. My shower room is a disaster zone so I'll pretty that up and sort out all my lotions n potions.

Clackety · 03/10/2014 08:26

Forgot to say I've cut down my wine a lot this week too. Not prepared to go wine-free but a couple of glasses an evening is working well for me.

ninawish · 03/10/2014 11:22

doing well here Grin

dry body brushed each morning and evening

just done all over fake tan

will do nivea and rosehip on feet overnight

3 layers of sally Hansen shall we dance (a pale French manicure and easy to put on) on manicured nails and about to do Gel top coat so it lasts ages

going to do thick layer of nivea on hands too

need to do foot file on feet

made up 4 outfits on hangers including underwear etc so have complete outfits ready to go

hope it lasts!

ninawish · 03/10/2014 11:23

I'm going to read the shower thread Clackety Wink

magicpixie · 05/10/2014 14:08

how have you all been getting on over the weekend

Clackety · 05/10/2014 14:50

I'm still knee deep on sorting! Just sorted out my make up now off to clean brushes and sort out potions...

KateSpade · 05/10/2014 16:51

I have a very strict beauty regime, already which due to depression I sack off sometimes, so this is a perfect kick start,

I also have around 3 stone to loose and a new job to find!

I need to work harder at life! (Which I say whilst watching the second Pocahontas film of the day)

Clackety · 05/10/2014 17:53

Right. I'm all geared up and ready to go! I'm too late for the 5 day makeover but can we like it going?

I want to shower (ha ha) then cleanse, tone and moisturise daily, wear make up everyday even if it's a smidge of lippie and mascara and dress with intention.

Clackety · 05/10/2014 17:54

Like it going is good but keep it going is what I meant!

Clackety · 05/10/2014 17:56

Sunday nights from here on in will be dedicated beauty days. Manicure pedicure and a face mask. Wednesday is scrub all over day.

ARGHtoAHHH · 05/10/2014 20:08

I'm too hungover and tired to bother with ANYTHING.

beauty regime will resume tomorrow! Blush

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 06/10/2014 09:34

morning all, I am feeling very smug today, been alcohol free for 7 days and have stuck to the 7 day diet and lost 7LB Shock only stone and 1LB to target for the first time since god was a lad! the weekend was most satisfying as I did sort out my clothes as planned, got rid of 3 bags of old stuff and sorted out all my handbags under my bed. tried on loads of my stuff and spent sunday sewing to make some of it fit my new slimmer me Smile so all my cupboards, drawers and wardrobes are in order, even the kitchen drawers got a sort out. the house is tidy and clean, the ironing all done and a sort of calm reigns over the house. I had a lovely bath last night with a defuzz and a face pack, and am just debating if I should buy that nail thing advertised on TV, the manicure / buffer thing... anyone tried it?

ninawish · 06/10/2014 10:41

i love 'dressing with intention' love it

yep I am keeping this going though fallen off the wagon a bit over the weekend, though the body brushing and moisturising going really well
