Thanks for the tips! He says he's happy to be a scary pirate. Phew. Now if only we knew where dd's witch costume was!
Lib, great outfit, love the jacket. You deserve a nice evening after a rubbish couple of days.
Blair, I had a lovely time this afternoon looking at your wedding dress board. Can I suggest that you create a final board and resin only your top 10 favourites on there? I think that might give you more clarity.
Also, on cost, as long as you don't go into debt for it, it really doesn't matter what you spend. Those threads on mumsnet are usually a waste of time because it either attracts the "look at me aren't I worthy as I spent a tenner" poster or "oh god I spent x and I feel so guilty" poster. My dress was expensive as it was couture and I loved it. I feel no guilt whatsoever as I felt amazing and the memory of how happy the day was makes me smile. Equally the bride who got her dress made in China and shipped over for £120 looked great.
The important thing is to be comfortable with what you spend no matter what it is - big or small. Just set a budget that makes you happy and get a dress that you love. Whether it's £300 or £3,000 as long as you can afford it. Don't be self-guilted into spending less on a dress that is a compromise dress because you think the amount of money for one dress is obscene.
