cremolafoam · 17/10/2014 23:34

Oops - shoddy editing. SorryBlush

MollyAir · 17/10/2014 23:53

Shock MrsS, that comment "it's only skin cancer" is criminal. Shock

You must be able to take action against her for saying that. Especially in a review, where you are bound to be feeling vulnerable. That is unbelievable.

CointreauVersial · 18/10/2014 01:38

I have a houseful of Thorpe-Parked-Out-Yet-Not-Remotely-Tired teens. I'm going to bed and leaving them to it.

NUFC69 · 18/10/2014 06:52

CV, Grin I hope you got to sleep.

MrsS, I am sorry about your work situation: the woman sounds horrendous, the things she said are unbelievably crass. I hope that you can find some help from somewhere.

When do you go away?

bigTillyMint · 18/10/2014 07:59

Good words of wisdom from Cremo there. Have a fabberoony time in NY - I will be asking for all your top tips when you get back, MrsS.

CV, sympathies.

Blackduck · 18/10/2014 08:30

MrsS just dropping in to say have a fab time and to back up Cremo - those comments and behaviour are unacceptable and anyone who has to say 'I am being sympathetic' clearly isn't....

Rosebag · 18/10/2014 08:58

MrsS have a wonderful and refreshing trip. I am [shocked] at how your boss spoke to you. Please take someone else in with you next time. Her conduct is really questionable and needs challenging. Echo what crem said. In the days where I was a somebody and managed a department I would never have treated any staff member like that. I would have offered help, and support, reflected on my own practice, and above all, come out with a mutually acceptable action plan as far as poss. Try to enjoy the trip and forget this apology for a boss. Thanks

Getting ready to do another Saturday workshop. Why do I sleep so badly away from home? Confused

hattymattie · 18/10/2014 09:04

Mrs S - hope you've made it to New York. Have a fab time. I mist say I got qw bit confused for a !moment between a plane for Lalsy's door and Mrs S's airborne kindConfused .

I have whole day to myself today so I may take myself off to a nice corner of Paris. The rest have gone to Park Asterix. First I have to do the boring stuff - go to the bank etc.

bigTillyMint · 18/10/2014 10:00

Parc Asterix! I remember a happy day spent there when the DC were smaller, and DH thinking he was going to die on a ride called Tonnerre de Zeus IIRC - how DD and I laughed!

A nice corner of Paris sounds very appealing today.

cremolafoam · 18/10/2014 11:56

oh how I wish I was in a nice corner of Paris Hatty The Butte aux Cailles or maybe the Promenade Plantee and treat myself to an artful bun from this patisserie

Instead I am doing the christmas rota. Sad

CointreauVersial · 18/10/2014 12:00

Survived the teen-sleepover - down to two guests now. But it is so nice that they are past the stage where they need "attention". I have directed DD1 to a stack of pizzas in the fridge, then DH and I are off out.

MrsS - have a lovely time.

bigTillyMint · 18/10/2014 12:15

Cremo, yummm!

CV, where are you off to?

hattymattie · 18/10/2014 12:38

Crem- you seem to know Paris better than meSmile . BTM that ride is still going strong.

I have had a lovely Skype with DD who seems to love uni and so now am finally going to Paris (The Marais methinks Crem).

herbaceous · 18/10/2014 12:44

What sophistication, 'little corners of Paris', dear little patisseries...

I have persuaded DS to do one bit of his six-task homework, and actually DRAW something, practised my bassoon for later, and am shortly off to a six-year-old birthday party. Then home, change, food, out to play bassoon, then home, dump bassoon, dash down to 50th birthday gathering in pub. There's an outfit challenge - what goes with both geriatric music appreciation group, and louche pub in Islington?

Tomorrow, I shall attempt to teach myself some more formal grammar, and write a teaching plan. And lie about.

lalsy · 18/10/2014 13:39

Oooh MrsS have a brilliant time.

dh planing (or the other thing) the door as I type. And I am dancing with glee as dd has just said she would like to do a little jaunt I suggested (something I have long wanted to do).

motherinferior · 18/10/2014 14:46

I have committed to cooking a large and multi-part Indian meal for tonight when friends are coming over: kheema with peas. dal, veg in coconut milk, aubergines in 'pickling style'. And a cucumber salad. And rice. And Bought Nan. And papadams.

None of this will be difficult but I should embark on the constituent parts soon.

Stopanuary and other lurkers, do emerge! I know many of us have known each other a long time but we are v welcoming and we love new people. As long as you are not overly fresh-faced. Grin

Rosebag · 18/10/2014 17:29

Does anyone know if MrsS actually took off?
Facebook has placed me in NY...clearly I have made a silly mistake when trying to check in at the theatre. No such luck....now on a smelly standard class virgin carriage to the smoke. I am completely wrecked but sadly exhilarated by the realisation that I'm going to be home alone tonight. DH and DD in Sussex tomorrow and DS has come back to London on the train to a party and is staying over at a friend. I feel take away pizza and some gin coming on Grin and several movies.
Ps Ddad remembered to give DM the birthday present that I got for him to give her. She's very chuffed. He wasn't that good at remembering, even when he wasn't suffering from dementia. Thanks goodness.

cremolafoam · 18/10/2014 17:51

Oh Rose that's so sweet. Bless your Ddad. Glad your mum liked the gift.

Strictly, and cups of tea for me after I've done my back exercises. My eyes are like @ @
After staring at The rota for hours and hours. Bring on the cha cha cha.

Hatty how was Le Marias?

beachyhead · 18/10/2014 18:25

I did wonder Rose. I thought you were employing MN subterfuge by saying you were in Manchester, then sloping off to NY Grin

CointreauVersial · 18/10/2014 18:46

Nowhere exciting, BTM. Just a quick jaunt to the local John Lewis Home store to return a load of stuff and choose some fabric to re-cover our dining room chair seats. Did stop in the café for a cup of tea and a huge chocolate éclair each, though (who needs Paris? Grin ).

Rosebag · 18/10/2014 20:48

Some chance Beachy I just clicked on the wrong theatre…clearly there is one of the same name in NY!!
I have in the last half hour staggered home, battling my way through crowds of Spurs supporters, presumably coming back from the away to Man City…they got stuffed I think, but were still annoyingly drunk and leery. I dunno, I seem to get so tired and sweaty, dragging the wheelie overnight case up hill and down dale. I ate a huge pastry walking up the hill to the house to see if it would give me energy, but I think it just went straight on to my thighs. Really feeling my age Hmm
