Tigerbear's FREE clothes and cosmetics thread

I've done this once before with cosmetics only, but interested to see if it'll work for clothes too.

I've just had a massive clear out of clothes, cosmetics, beauty stuff etc and am wondering if any of you lovely MNers would like some stuff for free?

There's too much to list individually, but for instance, there's a Monsoon black tuxedo jacket, Lipsticks that have never been used, a pair of cream wedge sandals, etc

What I suggest is that if you're after something specific, is to post outlining it eg 'I have a job interview next week and would love a new smart jacket' or 'I'd like to experiment and try a new lipstick colour', or whatever, and if I have something similar I'll post. One item per person please. Once we've agreed on who will get what, lets PM and I'll post the item to you.

:-)

DrBartlet sympathies re the cold! I've had this for nearly 2 weeks now - yuck!

Now, this is driving me mad, but I've found one flat black boot but can't find the other! If I do, I'll post a pic for you :-)

Cereal I'm really sorry but Badvoc claimed the dress at the 11th hour and it's already packed up. I may have a jacket for you though :-)

Cereal beautiful limey/yellowy vintage jacket with black ribbon at collar. The ribbon needs to be sewn on a bit more, and one of the sleeves needs a stitch or two, but it's really stunning!

Dosydoly · 16/09/2014 23:23

I have a coral coloured linen dress from whitestuff that I'm not quite tall enough for in a size 14 if anyone's interested I'll post a pic Smile

That's gorgeous! Is there anything I can swap? Smile

Dosydoly · 17/09/2014 09:44

You're very welcome to it its a shame for it not to be worn! PM me your address x

Dosydoly · 17/09/2014 09:47

Oh and as for swaps I'm size 12 and very generous of nork if you have any tops going spare ;) otherwise I'm just happy to see it go to a good home!

BustyDeLaGhetto · 17/09/2014 10:09

OH MY GOD THAT VINTAGE JACKET. Do you scout out vintage shops Tiger or are these lucky charity shop finds? I love that jacket.

Tigerbear · 17/09/2014 10:26

Busty the jacket is indeed very cool! It was given to me by a generous friend, but I've never worn it, just doesn't look right on me.
I've PM'd Cereal about it, as she lost out on a vintage dress to Badvoc, but if she doesn't want it, it's yours!

I do trawl charity shops and also exchange stores. I got some fab Reiss shoes for only £20 the other day from Bang Bang in Berwick Street, London.

I'm a charity shop fiend. I'm currently wearing a pair of vintage mustard yellow pleated culottes which are very pleasing, and cost about two pounds. It's a nice feeling when you find something wonderful AND cheap. You are doing a great thing, I hope Cereal does take the jacket and hope it looks wonderful on her*

*but I am saying that with gritted teeth

ChaffinchOfMegalolz · 17/09/2014 11:08

if you are sz 16 and large of arse, plus hippy and muffin top-y ; are leather troos a good idea? are they meant to be talcum powder tight like a second skin? or loose and saggy like my boobs something saggy?

ChaffinchOfMegalolz · 17/09/2014 11:09

one last question Wink

faux fur gilet ---- has this had its moment or worth looking for?

Tigerbear · 17/09/2014 11:21

Chaffinch - re leather trousers, you can do it, BUT don't get ones that are ALL leather, there has to be a bit of stretch fabric in there somewhere, to give a flattering fit, IMO. The ones I had/have, are leather on the front and a thick black jersey on the back, like thick leggings. Yes, they should be as tight as you can go (better for holding everything in too!) - saggy baggy leather is not a good look!

Hmm, faux fur gilet - not sure about this tbh! :-)

OP posts:
Tigerbear · 17/09/2014 11:22

Also Chaffinch don't be tempted to get faux leather trousers - the fit isn't nearly as good as real, and it'll get all hot and sweaty!

OP posts:
Tigerbear · 17/09/2014 11:24

Let's see re the jacket BustyGrin

Couldn't agree more, such a good feeling when you find a bargain. My motto is never to pay full price for anything.

Tigerbear, what an amazing thread! How kind of you. Are you looking for swaps, did I see? Dvd's?

I have some of those!

I'm looking for some blue or beige/cream boots and or brogues, at the moment. I'm a size 4.

cerealqueen · 17/09/2014 13:55

Thanks Tiger, the jacket is lovely but sadly the colour isn't for me, Busty ungrit your teeth, it is yours! Smile

WheelbarrowWoman · 17/09/2014 15:09

Ooo, what a lovely thread!

I'm looking for something to wear on a first date. I'm completely clueless as I've NEVER BEEN ON A DATE IN MY WHOLE LIFE (I was with my ex husband from the age of 19, single for a year now, swinging wildly between excited and FUCKING TERRIFIED). What do people wear on dates? My wardrobe is full of day to day stuff, or really formal wear (how about I turn up in my wedding dress, complete with full train and veil?).

I've got skinny jeans in good nick, so maybe I'm looking for a nice top to go with them? Or perhaps I should be after a dress? Do you have anything, Tiger? ARGGGHHHH!!!! I'm a size 8, small boobed, 5 foot 8, long legged, pale, really don't suit black or navy... if anyone has makeup or hair tips, I'm also clueless in that department. I never have worn more than tinted moisturiser and a bit of brown mascara...
