M&S floral boots - funky or frumpy?!

AliBingo · 08/09/2014 21:54

Just ordered these to wear with slim jeans, I liked them but now I can't decide if they're actually frumpy/for a more mature lady (I'm 39 so not a spring chicken but not in my dotage yet either!)

So what's the Mumsnet verdict, yay or nay?

A nay from me, sorry.

dexter73 · 08/09/2014 21:57

It's a nay from me. The shape is ok but the fabric is Shock!

AliBingo · 08/09/2014 21:59

Yeah I think you're both right, I got sucked in and clicked too fast and then immediately regretted it. Doh. I'll return them. I think I was attracted by the pattern but on closer inspection it reminds me of an old-fashioned foot stool my mum has!

Very very 70's. I like, in a strange kind of way.

Rivercam · 08/09/2014 22:46

I quite like them.

mommathatwearspink · 08/09/2014 22:51

Oh no, I really don't think them... sorry!

HolgerDanske · 08/09/2014 22:52

I'd wear them. And I'm 37.

It all depends on what you wear them with, I think.

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 09/09/2014 02:13

It's "no" from me, too.

HolgerDanske · 09/09/2014 06:39

Mind you I would wear them in the summer with a boho dress. Was trying to think how I would style them for winter and didn't really get anywhere. They wouldn't go with anything. So it depends on what you'd wear I guess.

AliBingo · 09/09/2014 08:47

I guess I need to wait and see them in the flesh but I suspect I'll be returning them.

Was planning to wear with slim jeans and plainish tops.

I was trying to get away from the dreaded mum boots!

Another no vote.

pictish · 09/09/2014 10:05

I quite like them....they're better than I was expecting. I don't think they're frumpy, but I do think they will be hard to match up to many outfits successfully.

ToysRLuv · 09/09/2014 10:32

I hate the bowboy boot style, but like the fabric..

ToysRLuv · 09/09/2014 10:32

Cowboy!

CoconutAmericano · 09/09/2014 10:49

i feel the opposite to pp. love the style hate the fabric sorry.!

hellsbellsmelons · 09/09/2014 10:53

I don't like them and I wear cowboy boots all the time (out of work of course!)

HelpMeGetOutOfHere · 09/09/2014 13:24

the style is good, its the pattern. im sure m&s have them in other colours and materials. I believe it was elected that mums boots are now biker type boots and the cowboy/pistol/ankle boots are now slightly better and not so mumsy.

Lambzig · 09/09/2014 13:37

Not for me I think.

mammuzzamia · 09/09/2014 13:50

I like those. But I wouldn't personally wear them

GobblersKnob · 09/09/2014 13:56

Jesus, no, sorry.

Fullpleatherjacket · 09/09/2014 14:03

Yee-Ha and hawt diggety dawg!

I actually quite like them but wouldn't cough the price.

AliBingo · 09/09/2014 14:10

I was swayed by the 20% off yesterday Blush

MackerelOfFact · 09/09/2014 14:20

I actually really like the pattern but not the shape or stitching of the actual boots. I think if they were plain lace-up boots they'd be quite nice.

Lonelynessie · 09/09/2014 17:30

My grandmother used to have a sofa in that exact colour and fabric, it's a no from me.

heartshapedflux · 09/09/2014 17:48

Honestly? I think they're a bit twee.
