What to wear on my feet with cigarette pants?

I've got a pair of these which I always wear when I need to be smart and in the warmer weather I wear them with smart flipflops/sandals or flattish pumps (would love to do heels but can't walk in them!) but what do I do when it gets colder? None of the footwear options I have seem to work.

I was wondering about black brogues but don't want to look like Max Wall although I don't have very big feet. Or maybe a slimmer fitting boot of some kind?

Agree with the poster on another thread who said footwear completely dictates the rest of the outfit - I end up wearing clothes that don't really work for what I want just to accommodate the sort of shoes I need to wear.

no no no to all of those shoes and boots imho

Twinklestein · 07/09/2014 13:27

But yes to blue leopard print...

Bunbaker · 07/09/2014 13:35

What flat shoes would you recommend lord?

noddyholder · 07/09/2014 13:40

I havent seen blue leopard sound a bit jazzy music teacher

Twinklestein · 07/09/2014 13:56

Are these too much of a heel?

ThisBitchIsResting · 07/09/2014 15:18

I am now back from my shopping trip, I was supposed to buy new black ciggie trousers but ended up getting black patent quilted ballet flats from the children's section of Russell and Bromley. They don't have their children's shoes online but they are gorgeous, leather outer and lining, and only £44. So I will be wearing my last year's trousers from Zara with shiny new shoes.

lordnoobson · 07/09/2014 16:14

lola t jazzy music teachers. when did you last see such a thing?! they are always wearing depressed looking cardigans

lordnoobson · 07/09/2014 16:14

Bun, flat shoes - I would do a slipper type affair. I hate brogues so wouldnt do them, or a mary jane for work

lordnoobson · 07/09/2014 16:15

or classic tassley loafers, although realise they are a thing i like that everyone else hates. I imagine myself in montmatre, looking all gamine and dreamy. Not driving a people carrier full of stinky rugby boots

noddyholder · 07/09/2014 16:30

I know a few groovers who wear things like coloured shoes :) I cn't do any colours on feet although I admire on others

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 07/09/2014 16:36

I like tan classic loafers, but not black ones - I always think tan ones look more elegant and less Sloaney.

noddyholder · 07/09/2014 16:41

My ds wears them black ones with white socks as do lots of his age here 20. I have worn my old Guccis all summer saved up for them in 1989! Suede with gold snaffle pure henrietta!

tethersend · 07/09/2014 17:13

I can't BELIEVE nobody got my ash boots joke.

I'm wasted on here.

angeltulips · 07/09/2014 17:41

East point they are very slim on the ankle (and I have ridiculously skinny ankles) plus they're elasticised so they don't stick out (thus why they fit well). I do have long slim (but not skinny) legs - I agree it might be more challenging if not. But they are th best I've found.

(I also have really long skinny feet so most boots look mega clompy - these make my feet look almost petite).

Twinklestein · 07/09/2014 17:51

'East point' - what's that? - I need to know about any boots with skinny ankles.

lordnoobson · 07/09/2014 17:56

how do these make her legs look fat? I bet she is skeletal

(They are heart stoppingly expensive though)

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 07/09/2014 18:03

I really dislike wedge boots. Don't mind shoes but boots look all trotter-ish to me.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 07/09/2014 18:04

£500 for a pair of boots????????????????????????????????????????? !!!!!!!!!!

lordnoobson · 07/09/2014 18:04

years ago I had some of those ones like with a sock top that Middleton wore that I could slide under me boot cuts to give a nice shoe, when I was toddler wrangling

CambridgeBlue · 07/09/2014 18:14

I've just got the Ash boots joke! Think because they are seen as the answer to a lot of boot conundrums on here it just went over most people's heads including mine :).
