I look like a boy.

Just that really.
Had my haircut yesterday. Stylist got a bit scissor happy. I've never cried about a haircut until now. It's so short. I can't tie it back at all. There's no length and I have sticky out ears so I can't even pin a little bit back for a change.
I didn't tell the stylist I wasn't happy as I didn't want to embarrass her but I emailed the manager and she has offered a refund and an appointment to sort it once it has grown out a bit.
I don't feel like me anymore :(

you look good definitely not like a boy!!!

Lj8893 · 25/08/2014 11:12

I love it, think you look great!

Theoldhag · 25/08/2014 14:31

Very feminine op, I was imagining a black adder 1st hair cut when I read your op! But from your photos it looks lovely and not at all like some Plantagenet prince I was picturing.

Theoldhag · 25/08/2014 14:40

Ment to add this.....

I look like a boy.
Dontgotosleep · 25/08/2014 19:00

I'm not just saying this to make you feel better, why would I but
Honestly it looks absolutely lovely. I can't see where you look like a boy. It really suits you.

Shopaccordingly · 25/08/2014 20:41

It looks great, curious to see with the fringe too but definitely suits you.

BatCrapCrazy · 26/08/2014 09:37

Oh god it looks bloody awful with the fringe. I'm currently sporting the "bed head" look so I will post a pic with the fringe once I have made myself presentable.
You're all so kind. I really hate it. Dreading going back to work next week because of it. shallow

I look like a boy.

Oh it looks really nice.

KristinaM · 26/08/2014 12:18

I don't understand why you think it looks awful .

It's lovely, it's not remotely a hairstyle worn by boys .

But it doesn't matter if everyone here tells you it's nice, if you don't feel it's " you" .

Can you work out what it is that you don't like ? Is it the fringe? Too geometric ? Do you like lots of softness and layers ? It it too modern for you?

Your hairdresser /styling it differently can't make it longer, but can make it look different .

Why don't you google /collect Pinterest ohotos of graduated bobs that you DO like and see how it can be changed ?

myfriendames · 26/08/2014 12:19

I think it would look worse with a fringe. I was wondering what the shorter bits at the side were...

It's really not as bad as you think, OP. You have a decent enough face to carry it off Grin And you don't look like a boy (I was expecting short back and sides!)

myfriendames · 26/08/2014 12:19

Hadn't seen the fringe picture when I posted, sorry (it was on the next page). I prefer the style without fringe still

myfriendames · 26/08/2014 12:20

I think it's too heavy (the fringe) too dominating.

BatCrapCrazy · 26/08/2014 12:43

I definitely hate it with the fringe. I bloody loved my fringe when my hair was longer.

I like it with and without the fringe. With, it's a bit aims Thurman circa Pulp Fiction (good thing, iconic style!).

Shopaccordingly · 26/08/2014 23:39

Uma Thurman

FanjolinaJolie · 26/08/2014 23:58

I would recommend getting some weight out of the fringe if possible, could you get a fringe trip and get it texturised/thinned? Of getting fringe restyled to side sweeping to follow your parting, maybe even extending the fringe to blend in to rest of hair on the longer side.

This wont help to you get it into a ponytail though.

Theoldhag · 27/08/2014 10:05

I like the fringe, really Cleopatra like. I hope op that after all these lovely comments from peeps that you no longer feel as though you look like a boy.

CharlieSaysAlwaysTellYourMummy · 27/08/2014 10:12

Ooo I really like your hair. The fringe looks great!

FanjolinaJolie · 28/08/2014 02:16

Can you get re styled/texturised like this?

I look like a boy.
andream34 · 28/08/2014 12:57

Out of the three pictures you posted I liked you in the first one best; in the second one it looks like you have brushed your hair back off your forehead too much, and in the recent one I think that the fringe is too solid.

BUT, in all of them, you look pretty and undeniably feminine.

I am likely going to hairdresser this weekend... and am dreading what the outcome is going to be like! But maybe it's the same with everyone, if one goes for something a bit different then it may usually be a shock to start off with.

MrsMarigold · 28/08/2014 13:06

You look great. I'm in bad hair land at the moment.
