Style and beauty

I look like a boy.

Just that really.
Had my haircut yesterday. Stylist got a bit scissor happy. I've never cried about a haircut until now. It's so short. I can't tie it back at all. There's no length and I have sticky out ears so I can't even pin a little bit back for a change.
I didn't tell the stylist I wasn't happy as I didn't want to embarrass her but I emailed the manager and she has offered a refund and an appointment to sort it once it has grown out a bit.
I don't feel like me anymore :(

It looks lovely, but it would drive me 'batcrapcrazy' too.

My hair has to be long enough to tie back.

It'll grow far quicker than you imagine so if you really hate it after a week or so, just remember that. Someone here once suggested selenium supplements for hair growth.

But you do not look like a boy! Grin It's a really nice swishy feminine cut. I like it.

It's a lovely cut and really suits you.

I know what you mean about crying after a haircut though. It's the shock of the change. I do it when I go from blonde to brown too, because I fancy a change.

You do not look like a boy. I looked like a boy with my pixie cut and had to wear a full make up every day to feel feminine.

I think it looks really lovely. And it's very feminine, not boyish at all. Honestly, it looks gorgeous.

It was just past shoulder length, with quite a lot of layers. This is the picture I showed to illustrate what I wanted.
It's done now though. I haven't washed it since it's been cut so it's still very much full of hair spray and whatever gunk they put in it. I suspect it won't be this straight once I've washed it later so I will have a little experiment.
How can I mess it up a bit and make it feel a bit more me?
I'm absolutely devastated. It doesn't help I'm only 23 and my nana has a very similar hair do!

I look like a boy.

It really really suits you and you do not look anything like a boy! You are very pretty. I know the feeling though. I cried after my last hair cut. It was shorter than i expected and i have been willing my hair to grow ever since. Ive been taking omega religiously as well just in case it helps! Two months later and i am getting the length back. Never again!

It really does suit you in the mean time though, i swear Smile

I'd style it like either of these two photos. Maybe a bit of st spray to tousle it or wax through the ends.

Or add a few curls with straighteners.

I look like a boy.

You look really nice op but I agree it's much shorter than the pic of fern. A few ghd curls would be nice.

I've had my hair from almost every length between pixie and down to my arse but I found the graduated bob the easiest to style and the most versatile.

I'm trying to grow my hair out to that again.

OP you look amazing! I thought that the picture you posted was going to be the 'before' shot and the 'after' shot was going to be GI Jane esque.

It really suits you!

You definitely could not be further from looking like a boy!

You have a fabulous jawline which your new 'do' shows off.

This is a bit like when your skinny friend whines about looking fat isn't it? Grin

Oh and OP - honestly - Fearne's haircut in that photo is not one of her better style moments. It's boring.
Yours is the nicer cut. Easily.

Oh you're all so lovely. DP says he likes it. It's just such a huge shock. God knows how I'm going to pin it out of my face for running. I'm supposed to be going in half an hour. I'm going to wash it this evening and take a bit of time to dry it and do what I can with it.

It does look good OP. I think you're really going to like it when you get used to it.

You obviously have a very fashionable gran. Does she go to the same hairdresser ?Wink

Haha no she doesn't.
It was a PITA running last night night. It was all in my face. Will be purchasing a load of Kirby grips this morning in preparation for this evenings run.
I've washed it and dried it myself. I have no idea how to do curls and whatnot with the straighteners so I've just straightened it. Still not fussed on it. I think I will like it once it's grown an inch or so.
Now off to google how to make hair grow super fast

You look nothing like a boy-you are beautiful, and the haircut is really flattering. Give it a few days-maybe your opinion will improve.

I think it really suits you. I can see why you'd be cross if you wanted it the length of the photo though - but honestly, it looks fab!

You look Oh so gorgeous it really really suits you.

I had a very similar style for ages and it is easy to deal with for running etc. Just get yourself an elasticated bandana honest no Kirby grips etc.

As for messing it up wash it dry it and then get some wax tip head forward and finger comb forward, put head back finger comb, shake your hands through and then just mess with it with your fingers!

As for curls by from Velcro rollers wash hair and let dry until damp, get a bit of mouse if you want if not them just section with fingers and put Velcro rollers in at all sort of angles etc no plan the more haphazard the better. either let dry naturally or dry with hair drier and then blast with cold air. Take rollers out and then finger comb and your done.

Honestly I KNOW it is a shock and I have been exactly where you are but that style on you looks amazing and very flattering.

I have this style and I run 5times a week . It's not a problem

I don't use a bandana for running as I find it makes me too hot. Ok when it's freezing out

I scrape the top section back into an elastic and then it all into a pony tail. Then I put Kirkby grips in the fringe section as I hate the little wispy bits sticking to my sweaty face . It looks a fright but who cares when you are running ?

It's very quick to dry after my shower and I have one of these blow dry brush thingies to turn the ends under. Only takes 5 mins to look passable and 15 to look really nice .

I was expecting a pixie crop!
I wouldn't even consider that a short hair cut!
I have a short jaw length bob generally but had an asymmetric cut a few months ago. I felt that was too short for me and have been growing it out. It really doesn't take long for hair to grow back.
I run and pin the front sections to the sides to stop hair getting in my eyes.

As the owner of a pixie cut, I can categorically say your hair is both great but also.....long! I never quite get the 'needing to tie it back'. All that effort having hair and then it gets scraped back into a frigging ponytail Wink.
