I didn't get an engagement ring Sad just a plain gold wedding band.

Anyway we will soon be coming up to a significant anniversary and dh wants to get me a new eternity/wedding ring. I don't wear any other rings.

I do fancy something with some sparkle is this nice?

I've never shopped for a ring before!

Anyone ever heard of this company or bought from them before?

More importantly is it nice? Opinions welcome!

Agree about keeping the plain band on, yeah. I think it looks nicer too, even on my short little fingers.

I love this. GBP 3500, I may have to save up a bit.

Look on the Boodles website.

Their rings are beautiful.

OP Just as an example of what you can get for around £2000 antique. I only mention these two companies because I trust them; there are very many others:

or

or (rather more)

They many not be to your taste, at all. And that's fine. I only mention them because so many people don't consider second-hand jewellery and I really love it.

that first Carole Franks ring is beautiful

RJnomore · 11/08/2014 22:52

You could have a really nice Tiffany ring for that sort of money

RJnomore · 11/08/2014 22:53

Oh wow it is AF, very art deco, I love emerald cut diamonds.

WitchWay · 11/08/2014 23:26

I have a plain rose gold band that was my grandmother's (hallmarked 1929) - I wouldn't want diamonds in my wedding ring

UselessNess · 12/08/2014 00:36

I like it but I think the only thing that matters is if you like it. I'd worry about it getting dirty though.

You will have to see it in person before you can decide. It may not be that sparkly as the diamonds are quite small. You may be able to get it cheaper with lower clarity and coloured diamonds. At that size clarity won't make a huge difference and if it's in yellow gold then slightly tinted diamonds would look white anyhow.

Make sure you look at the ring in natural light as well as artificial light.

In addition to FloraScotia s excellent advice I would also check whether the diamonds are 'untreated' or 'enhanced'. Enhanced diamonds are when diamonds are treated in all sorts of ways such as laser drilling, radiation bombardment and fracture filling. Quite a few of the UK big jewellers use 'enhanced diamonds'. Some people are not bothered by this but I prefer completely natural diamonds.

My diamonds are definitely conflict free. They are lazor etched with their origin (Australian ) and their certificate number. They cost a bit more but I prefer to buy from 'first world' companies where the diamonds will have been mined in a safe and ethical way.

OP you could try buying from hatton garden if you live in London. Same product for less money

Paddingtonthebear · 12/08/2014 06:46

It's not my style but it you love it, go for it! I do think you could get a nicer ring made for the same price, we went to a jewellery designer and I have a bespoke platinum diamond wedding ring for slightly less than the price of the one you've linked to

Eastpoint · 12/08/2014 06:56

I don't see the point of having diamonds on the inside of your hand/in between your fingers, you won't be able to see them and they may irritate your skin.

Here is a picture of two rings I own to give you inspiration (excuse the kid looking hand)

I like it, despite it not being to my usual taste, but think there is a lot of good advice on this thread. I would add that I only like the white metal versions, I don't think yellow gold and diamonds look good together.
