What shorts are you wearing?

Need some nice ones to flatter a size 12 figure!!

I don't want any too tight!!

I got a lovely pair of linen ones in Monsoon last week. They're go with everything blue, quite wide in the leg, very soft and just gorgeous. They have a tie belt, turn ups and I know I'll wear them for years. Tried to link but unsuccessful - Millie chambray shorts, also in white.

sweetheart · 22/07/2014 15:36

I have just been trough the whole pre holiday shorts debacle. I ended up with these these these and these not 100% on the last Gap ones

Greengardenpixie · 22/07/2014 15:42

I am really into long shorts atm. I have a pair of knee shorts by next, whitestuff jegging shorts/crop [so comfy] and i absolutely love my white stuff helter skelter shorts. So flattering.

kahori · 22/07/2014 16:09

What do you think of the fit on the Helter Skelter shorts greengarden? The reviews are a bit mixed. I love the length of these. I am an apple shaped 16 so bigger on the tummy than the hips/bottom. Should I size up?

carrie74 · 22/07/2014 16:14

Banana Republic, Gap (boyfriend fit ), J Crew.

sinisterfish · 22/07/2014 16:16

i have some nice monsoon denim shorts and some great french connection ones, they were from outlet though will see if i can find

Greengardenpixie · 22/07/2014 18:59

Kahori, i love them. They are not especially generous around the waist though. They are stretchy but if you have a mummy tummy [which i do] it can be a bit tighter. Saying that they do feel baggier with wearing. The length is very flattering and i would buy another pair if only they did another colour. I think i would size up. You could always try both sizes and see how you get on. Also on the White stuff website they have jegging ones..like leggins but denim. They are great. The only thing is, like leggings, a long top is a must but they look good too. I also love the length of those and they are supercomfy.

Greengardenpixie · 22/07/2014 19:01

Here is the link for the jegging shorts:

www.whitestuff.com/womens/jeans/navy-jade-jegging-crop/

They are like leggings in the sense they are a neat fit and that put me off but in all honesty with a long top they are great and i have worn and worn them.

GretchenWiener · 22/07/2014 19:05

I wore some to work today and got loads of comments. They are (old) banana republic. Nice flat front. Not too long or short. Plain but a bit like this style m.bananarepublic.gap.eu/product.html?dn=bp000950772JA95-08896&dv=0&shopid=1&pdn=bc66910

Size down one

GretchenWiener · 22/07/2014 19:06

Jegging crops are trousers surely?

Ememem84 · 22/07/2014 19:07

Fat face chino shorts.

BillStickersIsInnocent · 22/07/2014 19:12

Gap khaki shorts are great - I have them in bright pink, pale pink and beige/cream.

Greengardenpixie · 22/07/2014 19:14

Well they are inbetween leggings and jeans hence jeggings? They arent quite as revealing as leggings, thats true.

GretchenWiener · 22/07/2014 19:14

GAp and br do good shorts

Greengardenpixie · 22/07/2014 19:16

...and im not sure revealing bum or waist or tummy would look good on me personally. Maybe if you are super slim they would look great anyway!

ChickenFajitaAndNachos · 22/07/2014 19:16

Clippity I got those too. They were a bit more than I would normally spend but mega comf, not tight and go with lots of things as almost denim in colour.

sinisterfish · 22/07/2014 21:34

i have some asos culottes that i am wearing atm they are so cool

ThisBitchIsResting · 22/07/2014 21:47

Next chino shorts are the business. Size down though, Next sizing is increasingly bonkers.

GretchenWiener · 22/07/2014 21:52

they are quite long though, arent they?

FruitBasedDrinkForALady · 22/07/2014 23:08

OP, I was coming on to post the same question! I'm a 10-12 with a mum tum, and I think hope passable legs. I spotted these
Gap roll ups although I don't understand the sizing Confused
Gap scalloped edge
BR Roll ups

I'm open to a public vote on which to get!

GretchenWiener · 22/07/2014 23:17

You're on the wrong gap site for UK

FruitBasedDrinkForALady · 23/07/2014 00:40

Thanks Gretchen, but I'm not in the UK, so have to order from the EU site. It's just the first pair that have odd sizing, possibly inch waist? The other two I was looking at are standard UK sizes. I've never bought from the Gap before, so was hoping someone might have an idea about them.

BillStickersIsInnocent · 23/07/2014 05:55

Gretchen when you wore those to work what did you wear them with?

Rainydayblues · 23/07/2014 06:54

Gap boyfriend and H&M Logg shorts, both perfect mid thigh length - they stop at the narrowest point on my leg.

GretchenWiener · 23/07/2014 07:00

fruit oh right sorry. I for confused when they. First split it into eu and uk.
