It was a dress down day - obv!! I wore them with a cotton short sleeved loose top, ancient thing from monsoon sale

I'm so hot at work - we're fairly casual but shorts are probably a no no unfortunately

I'd love to tailor them up with heels and slim shirt
The shorts themselves would have had to have more Lycra in. These go "easy" after a sweaty day Which is fine. But wouldn't suit a tailored look

Yes me too - I love that look. Lots of colleagues wear short sleeveless dresses and flip flops but I would feel funny about wearing shorts I think, even tailored ones.

any ideas as to where I can buy high waisted plain shorts please? long-ish?

none in usual places? top shop etc?
