Ooops, sorry, I didn't mean to finish the thread.

They may genuinely not have known how it would pan out, BD? You were clearly a front-runner but someone else fitted the specific role a bit better?

I have dispatched my two on a slightly spurious errand as otherwise they WOULD NOT MOVE all day. Especially DD2. No wonder she eats so little - she's not exactly expending any calories. Feel a slightly sadistic pleasure at the fact they'll have to do hippy t'ai chi for a week.

MontserratCaballe · 05/08/2014 12:15

MI there are still 47 mins til your 1pm curfew. Hang on in there.

Blackduck, so sorry about the job. Have they given you any feedback? It is a real pain when you have worked hard and got all teed up for it, especially when they have invited you to apply. Is it possible that they had a rethink on the job description once they had a short list and decided they were looking for something different?

Herbs, concert sounds beautiful but Shock at tit comment.

NUFC69 · 05/08/2014 12:40

Well that's good to know, BD, in which case you must have been a front runner. It does put you through the wringer. Will not getting the job affect how you think of your future there?

Getting closer, MI; any news yet? DH has just announced that he is not sure if our ESTAs have expired. Shock The holiday has, of course, been booked for months and we go in four weeks, plenty of time but still. ..

motherinferior · 05/08/2014 12:41

The clock is still ticking...

OTOH DD2 has been invited round to a friend's this afternoon, hurrah.

CointreauVersial · 05/08/2014 13:05

It's 1.01, MI. Time to shout at another hapless customer service representative, possibly?

BD - what a pain about your bathroom delivery. I remember waiting in fruitlessly for a delivery once, and when I phoned to complain the chap said "well, I heard your dog barking, but no-one answered the door". We don't have a dog.

I'm still wading through the emails at work - all 258 of them. Gratifyingly, a few "urgent" things came up while I was away, and various people had to scramble around and sort things out for themselves, for once. Nice to know I was missed.

bigTillyMint · 05/08/2014 13:06

BD thats pants.

MI passport no show is pants too.

Didnt sleep much last night - not sure if it was the wind/water lapping/huge steak I ate last night/worry about the 3 hour horse riding DH has signed us up for today. I havent got on a horse since I fell off one pony trekking when I was about 12...

CointreauVersial · 05/08/2014 13:09

Aww, horse riding sounds brilliant, BTM. I wanted my lot to give it a go when we were in Devon last year, but DH refused point blank. You are having quite an adventure - where are you exactly??

Rosebag · 05/08/2014 13:21

Good luck and happy hols to all those in the vicinity of going away. I do feel your pain MI at all this eleventh hour passport stress and am hoping that the courier turns up with it soon. They're unlikely to be bang on 1 though, are they.
Sorry re job BD it's so galling when they give you the impression that you're going to be the one. Will you ask for feedback? ( hate feedback...the juvenile that I am)
herbs that sounds moving except for the false tit comment, of course. We turned out our lights at 10 but were surprised at how few in our street bothered.

tilly your photos continue to be amazing. Is that your DD? She's lovely! Good luck with the horse riding. My equestrian limits extend to stroking those sweet little donkeys at the farm yesterday.
dS2 has just texted from Caesaria to say can we have fish and chips the SECOND he gets off the plane on Sunday. He also put a forlorn little comment on my donkey fb photo yesterday..." Missing you" Most unlike him. We all need him home. It's been nearly a month.

bigTillyMint · 05/08/2014 13:24

We are on Playa Dominga on Ometepe Island in Lake Nicaragua, in Nicaragua! Love Nicaragua - very laid back and unspoiledSmile

bigTillyMint · 05/08/2014 13:29

Rose, it is indeed my gorgeous DD, although she definitely didnt inherit her lovely body from me! Glad to hear its soon going to be time gor your DS to return - that month seems to have gone by fast to me, but maybe not to you!

motherinferior · 05/08/2014 13:46

Still not here....

Rosebag · 05/08/2014 14:03

She is indeed gorgeous tilly!! It comes in many forms!!
DS has just send another text to say he's bored of houmous, schnitzel and burrekas ( just about his fave foods otherwise) and ( I kid you not...) that he misses red London busses and the tube!!! We are such Londoners.
I don't feel too sorry for him though. Their itinerary has been slightly diverted again and they're in a beautiful four star hotel!
MI Angry
On another very sad note my close friends mother has had a terrible fall and died. Such a shock and I'm not really around to help. Our little group of seven friends mobilises in these situations and we all take over the mourning period arrangements and each take turns in cooking for the family. I have pledged mac and cheese, salad and bread for Sunday (they're veggie) but I'm not sure when I'm gonna do it. Feeling a bit guilty and useless.

motherinferior · 05/08/2014 14:22

Oh Rosebag Sad. Do an online order for food, including ready-made cheese sauce?

Blackduck · 05/08/2014 14:26

Dare I ask MI?

I keeping missing calls from the head honcho and when I call back I get no answer. Bored of it now......

I daren't ask dp if we have a bath in our dining room or not... he's having a bad day as it is (imac drive corrupted, ipad full, iphone with broken back - first world problems I know....)

bigTillyMint · 05/08/2014 14:50

BD, I thought imacs were incorruptible!

DH and I have been sniggering at the 50+ caught-in-the-act thread whilst lying in bed in our captains cabin-like room over the beachGrin

bigTillyMint · 05/08/2014 14:52

Rose, mac cheese is one of my staples at home - have got the prep down to a fine artWink

motherinferior · 05/08/2014 16:42

and still nothing...

MI, so so rubbish and stressful.

Classic crepey S and B ish question: good sandals for over-pronators? I did fine all winter with orthaheels in my boots but am struggling now. Are crocs flip flops or sandals any good?

CointreauVersial · 05/08/2014 17:45

DM just phoned, very excited - she's just won a holiday for two in Tokyo. Envy Wine Envy Wine She didn't take the bait when I suggested that DSDad probably wouldn't enjoy it...

CointreauVersial · 05/08/2014 17:49

Lalsy, I'm not an over-pronator myself, but one of the blogs I read was recommending these as being mega-comfy.

motherinferior · 05/08/2014 18:00

I would like it on record I am writing up an interview section that has involved exploiting no Crepeys whatsoever as the other MNer involved isn't on this thread.

lalsy · 05/08/2014 18:07

Oooh CV, I never believe people actually win those.

Thanks, I am a Fitflop fan tho they are not providing quite enough support at the moment (I am on my fete a lot this summer), but those look better than the ones I have (more classic flip flop style)....hmmmmm.

OP posts:
herbaceous · 05/08/2014 18:20

I'm an over-pronator, and while I do find my FitFlops comfy, they don't support the arch much. The only thing that works are Birkenstocks...

motherinferior · 05/08/2014 18:25

I am looking at the DM site and wondering if I am 101 years too old for a pair of silver laceup boots from the kids' section...

motherinferior · 05/08/2014 18:27

yearns...
