Havainas... Hmmm, I'm not convinced ..

I finally bought a pair. They're nice, plain navy but the navy has a nice sheen to it and I really like the look of them. People rave about them but I've always been out off because flip flops always - without fail - hurt!

But I've made the leap. I live in Toms in the summer usually so thought I'd have a change. But they hurt! It's not excruciating but still .. It's pretty uncomfy.

Tell me this is normal and I'll get used to it please ?!?!

I prefer Vans flip flops don't hurt like havaianas

Totally agree that they last ages! My first pair have just given up the ghost (bit between toe broke away from sole) after over 10 years of wear! I've been through a number of other flip flops in that time, including seemingly decent ones like Gap. Just pondering which colour to replace them with now!

I love Havs.
They last lots longer than other brands. They are more comfortable for me also.

I've got a serious flip-flop habit and one pair of Havainas (slim). They are nice but nothing special imo.

Pros:
Nice metallic look
Soles made of good quality firm rubbery stuff
Straps not too tight

Cons:
Soles a bit thin
A bit 'flappy' due to roomy straps (and I have a high instep and often have trouble with straps being too tight)
Quite casual looking, if it wasn't for the metallic blingy look dressing them up they would look like v cheap beach thongs

I don't get the hype, they compare well with other brands but aren't in a different league or anything.

They last years and years

I'm a TA in a primary school and have not sat down for the last week. My ankles have swollen in the last couple of days with the heat and havainas have saved my feet. Had to put the beloved birkie madrids back in the wardrobe.

So, bloody comfy, I have zipped up and down stairs as if I were in my twenties Smile
And worn my new gold , blingy ones to the after school party until 9pm yesterday. Straight from the pack with not even a chafe or a rub.

I even boogied away in the heat (12 hours on my feet) then went home and collapsed

I expect to have and love them for years.
