Thanks Beachy for the frisky title suggestion.

Well, here we all are!

Herbs -sacrilege - the Tour is fab!! (I got into it the summer ds was born), I love it, it's totally bonkers!

I could meet earlier on 25th (will be london with ds for the week so can send him home with DDad)

herbaceous · 05/07/2014 09:34

But isn't it just a load of people cycling fast for ages, then one makes a break for it near the end, then they do it all again the next day?

And yes - I could prob do 25th July, though the next day is a party with our Most Drunken Friends (them of DP's broken rib) and the following day family day at Ascot!

Blackduck · 05/07/2014 09:35

Yes, kind of, it's the doing it again the next day that is so bonkers :)

Auriga · 05/07/2014 09:36

Hatty, many congratulations to your DD. Nephew is there and loves it.

herbaceous · 05/07/2014 09:51

And yes - congrats to the Hatty DD. I was watching Celeb Masterchef last night, and they had to cook for students at the Royal College of Music. I went off into a reverie, and DP said "You're thinking about how lovely it will be when DS goes there, aren't you." He knows me so well.

I guess it's the concept of the TdF that's interesting, rather than actually watching it. Rather like Formula 1 racing. The idea is mad and stupid, but watching it extremely dull.

Blackduck · 05/07/2014 09:59

Dp went to the Royal College of Music .....

C4 highlights Herbs that's the way to go :)

motherinferior · 05/07/2014 10:25

25th is last day of primary for DD2 so I'll be in the pub earlier...

bigTillyMint · 05/07/2014 10:29

Don't let Rudy hear you dissing the TdF!

It IS Tuesday, you're right rudy! I could blame autocorrect, but it could equally be my addled head.

B-b-but how did you know???

QueenQueenie · 05/07/2014 12:42

Yes to 25th for a meetup!

OPM, would you potentially be able to sneak out on that date if we met somewhere vaguely in your vicinity? Would be lovely to meet you.
Rosebag, is it most evenings that are problematic or Fridays in particular?

WELL DONE to Ms HatttyMattie! You must be so pleased for and proud of her. We were 'there' yesterday for an Open Day and it was great. Ds is going to have a hard time choosing, although at the moment he thinks he preferred 'the other one'.

Good weekends to all. Best of British to all those foolish brave enough to be cavorting in fields. Here it's out for birthday lunch with ds1 (17) today and more lunching tomorrow with my dd and -not so d siblings. It's all eating-- go here!

Crem, wishing you calm and peace.

hattymattie · 05/07/2014 13:43

BD - what does your DP play? I can only imagine how fabulous it must be to go to the Royal College of Music and being surrounded by the gifted and talented wafting beautiful music at me all day long.

Am loving the Tour de France in Yorkshire, then French TV is being very complimentary. I have telephoned the parents in law and instructed them to watchSmile.

bigTillyMint · 05/07/2014 13:51

Well, the builder being here is having its plus points. DH, DS and I are off to this party, leaving DD behind so she can go to a friends party with her friends. They all seem to be congregating here before-hand.

The kitchen is full of the units, blocking access to the booze cupboard and they are mid oiling/varnishing the worktops and will have to be back and forth all afternoonWink

Glad to see the list for the 25th is building up. Rose, would you be able to meet in the afternoon of the 25th? And OPM, we could meet somewhere convenient for you if you could make it too?!

NUFC69 · 05/07/2014 16:03

Hatty, have you continued to watch Le Tour on Eurosport? The scenery looks fabulous and I love all the references to, for instance, Château de Bolton, etc. We (the family) routinely refer to local hills as the "Col" de Ryal, etc, since our holidays in France.

Visit to the dentist passed uneventfully with nothing done. Super emergency dentist thinks the sensible answer is just ignore the old gaps and put a crown and post in where the broken tooth was. Fortunately they had just had a cancellation so they will start the process on Wednesday.

hattymattie · 05/07/2014 16:06

I'm on France2 NU Smile. Glad to hear there's a reasonable plan for the tooth.

originalpiratematerial · 05/07/2014 16:07

Thanks QQ - I would love to BUT my DSs break up a week earlier and so we will be away - in Norfolk - that Friday night! I am going to make great efforts "next term" to join you though!

bigTillyMint · 05/07/2014 17:44

Thats a shame OPM. Next time!

We are now in a somewhat dodgy hotel (think 1950s style Butlins cabins) watching yet more footy. Can't wait for the party!Hmm At least I slept for over an hour of the 3 1/2 hour journey!

herbaceous · 05/07/2014 18:00

I am eternally grateful for a DP who gives not one toss about any sport.

CointreauVersial · 05/07/2014 18:07

As mentioned previously I can't come on the 25th. Boo.

The sun is out, people! I shall be wearing white jeans, a colourful top, wedgy sandals and a jacket. BD - your festival looks brilliant, and is considerably cheaper than mine (although I get a free curry).

OP posts:
bigTillyMint · 05/07/2014 18:43

Am Envy at you going to lovely festivals.

hattymattie · 05/07/2014 18:52

Herbs - one of the things I took into account when saying yes to DH was that he had no interest whatsoever in watching sport (although he is quite fit and plays a lot).

hattymattie · 05/07/2014 18:53

I sense a bit of festival competitivity coming onWink .

bigTillyMint · 05/07/2014 19:01

So your sporty DH doesn't watch any sport?Envy

We are not going to any festivals because the ones I wanted to go to clash with other stuff/holidays and we can't leave early on a Friday. Well, we could, but DH wouldn't.

herbaceous · 05/07/2014 19:25

Admittedly, DP doesn't actually DO any sport either, which isn't ideal from a health POV. Swings n raandabouts.

hattymattie · 05/07/2014 19:37

Honest - he doesn't watch sport - I think this is because he doesn't play team sports - he does running, cycling, skiing - those are his main things. He hates football much to my eternal joy.
