Thanks Beachy for the frisky title suggestion.

Well, here we all are!

I would tend to stay away as long as it's only pine cones. (can't help sniggering though).

We have watched Groundhog Day as DH felt he ought to introduce the DC's to classic films of the 80's. Hmm. Have to say I did enjoy it although Andie McDowell is a really bad actress - something that had passed me by before.

hattymattie · 04/07/2014 21:33

Rudy - are your eyes done yet?

I'm sure you'll be fine, I only thought of this as I saw Boris Becker on Wimbledon and I said to DH is I get eye bags like that I want them sorted. His are the worst I've seen (or maybe he'd just had a rough night).

herbaceous · 04/07/2014 21:42

I've always hated andi McDowell. Especially in FWaaF, where she was both a bitch, and insipid. I saw her in real life at a sample sale in New York, and she was red-faced and bedraggled.

You're only allowed to do one speed course every three years CV, so your van driver will get the points and the fines.

Howdy Rudy!

beachyhead · 04/07/2014 21:43

It will be great Rudy... I had massive wobbles before I had my boobs reduced, but it really was worth it.

Could the rain stop please? I have fifty year 4's coming here tomorrow!

In a field! Catch up Sunday!
25th YAH!!!!

Stropperella · 04/07/2014 23:23

MrsS, well done. Grin

Lalsy, how lovely that your dd enjoyed her final prom after all.

MI, thanks for the offer, but I think it might be a little bit too exposing to work through the interview prep on here in detail. Obviously, I will be keeping that bin line in reserve in case I need it. Grin

Dd was a bit pale and wan for her birthday yesterday, but we all went out for surprise birthday meal in the evening and then came home for very late cake at 11pm. Poor old ds was knackered today. Dd is vvvvvv pleased with her present, a fancy laptop. 2 of her friends took her out for tapas this evening and she has now been invited to her first "proper" party next Friday. It's with the cool in-crowd at some massive mansion out in the sticks and will involve staying over. Shock This is the girl who for the last 2 years had claimed to have no friends and has just sat in her room most of the time. Things seem to be changing very fast at the moment...

Stropperella · 04/07/2014 23:26

I'm hoping to make the 25th!

Herbs, I did one of those courses last summer and one the summer before that.

BTM, hope the kitchen chaos will be over soon and you can shake off that virus quickly.

bigTillyMint · 05/07/2014 06:39

Rudy, great to see you! And hope the eyes go well. Could you say you just realised you had a prior engagement on the 25th? It would be great to see you.

Stropps, glad to hear your DD's birthday went well too and that her social life is taking off. How things change! And great about the 25th tooSmile

It is pouring down here - hopefully not in BD's field, but it's supposed to clear up later isn't it?

Yay Rudy!
The kitchen floor is down and the kitchen is now filled with all the new cupboards and what-have-you. The plastering has dried and I am feeling more positive, possibly due to the fact that our lovely cleaner came and removed a lot of the dust from around the house and also we have had take-aways for a couple of nights and are off to near Bristol later, so no fannying around trying to concoct some sort of meal in the dust!

The Tour is passing by DH's work and he may possibly be unable to get home (on his bike) due to road closures, but he seems bizarrely disinterested in going to watch itConfused saying he has a lot of work to doHmm

So 25th
BD
BTM
MI
MrsS
Stropps
Rudy

Who else and where?!

NUFC69 · 05/07/2014 07:26

It's good that the kitchen is now progressing well, BTM. Plastering seems to make the house damp all over. When my kitchen was replaced we also had the bathroom done - now that was fun.

It's not quite raining here atm but has obviously been torrential overnight. Dentist at 11.40 Sad Am not feeling confident that they will be able to do anything as a few years ago I was x-rayed to see if I was suitable for implants but I didn't have the bone density needed.

I hope the weather is ok for the party, Herbs. What time are they coming, will DS have time to practise beforehand?

We're hoping to watch Le Tour on TV: quite a few friends are going to watch. Good luck to Cav as it would be nice if he won in Harrogate.

Blackduck · 05/07/2014 07:49

Back home for a restorative cuppa and a cat nap....
It hammered it down all night, but we were in a tent, in a tent as it were, so not too bad. Mucho wine was drunk and you can tell the non campers from the real ones by whether the tent made it neatly back in the bag or not :)
Rudy - hi! Good luck with the surgery.
Herbs Beachy - hope the parties go well. I'm back to the field around 12.00ish and dp has signed me up for bouncy castle duty along with the singing and pint pulling...

Blackduck · 05/07/2014 07:52

cV your festival sounds like ours!! us

bigTillyMint · 05/07/2014 07:52

No NU, I would never get them both done at the same time!

Hope all parties go well - not majorly looking forward to the one I have to go to as it will probably be all oldies and no one we have ever met before!

originalpiratematerial · 05/07/2014 08:47

This is the first Saturday in, like, forever that nobody in the household has had to be off early to something. So what do I do? Why, wake up at 6 am Hmm.

Good luck Blackduck with the pint pulling. I hope the rain stays of for everyone's parties!

Rosebag · 05/07/2014 09:11

I'd love to meet you all I'm person. It's just that Friday nights are really impossible for me. Does anyone ever meet up during the day? I guess not because of work? Most of mine is in the evenings…
Rudy good luck with the procedure…it's going to be fine.
Stropps Glad DD's birthday went well…and the social engagements are building up!
Tilly that sounds like progress…re the kitchen! Hope you're feeling better.
Good luck to all who are running parties and festivals. DD has a belated birthday gathering today. Her birthday is always around all the May bank hols and half term and then she was away for 2 weeks on the school trip, so we're doing it now. A small group of them are having a studio singing session at the local theatre with which we're involved, and then lunch in the bar with a few more girls arriving. We're indoors at least. Weather's horrible!

Rosebag · 05/07/2014 09:12

in person, not I'm person!!!!

bigTillyMint · 05/07/2014 09:15

Rose, I could do the 25th in the daytime (and then on to the evening do!) - it'll be the holidaysGrin

MrsSchadenfreude · 05/07/2014 09:15

Rose, I could potentially be up for a day time meet up during the next couple of weeks, as I am pretty much being left to my own devices to write a couple of reports - as long as these are written, I see no reason why I shouldn't have the occasional long lunch or drink after work.

motherinferior · 05/07/2014 09:16

Beachy, I never knew you had your boobs reduced!

I have survived my mother. Wish I didn't find her so annoying.

herbaceous · 05/07/2014 09:19

No no - DS's party isn't until next Sunday - I was just getting my fretting in good and early.

His actual birthday is this Thursday, so we'll pick him up from school and take him for pizza. Then cake a presents here.

The Tour de France will be passing within a few hundred yards if our house, so I'll probably go and have a look,,though I have to say the sport seems profoundly boring. As do most, to be fair.
