Hello all Smile

Thanks for the supportive messages - I'm really pleased to say that the Event went well - couldn't have hoped for better - so I'm chuffed to little mint balls about that.

As for the chat with the consultant - well, I fear I have poisoned the well by being a bit too frank and honest - but otoh I did find it really useful from a personal pov in that it focused my mind on what I like, and don't like, about my job. Not at all sure where the whole thing is going but hey. But in the back of my mind I have little voice telling me the depressing stats about being 50 (fifty, L) and jobless.

CointreauVersial · 09/07/2014 22:07

Well done, Rudy - it will feel worse before it feels better, but I bet you are glad it's all over and done with. I had my nose job during the Easter holidays so just holed up at DM's until I looked presentable. I also invested in some industrial-strength concealer for those lingering bruises.

And good for you, OPM!

Dp is still not home Angry

bigTillyMint · 10/07/2014 05:58

OPM, glad to hear the event went well and that the consultant wasn't too awful - fingers crossed.

BD, hope your DP got back.

So whose DC are off today?!

Blackduck · 10/07/2014 06:18

You're up early BTM!

bigTillyMint · 10/07/2014 06:21

YesSad I needed the loo and then couldn't get back to sleep so decided to get on with some online stuff!

NUFC69 · 10/07/2014 07:22

It's one of the pleasures of getting older, BTM, the loo calls and then you can't get back to sleep.

Glad to hear that things went well, OPM, and for you, too, Rudy.

I am just waiting for the call to find out the extent of our childminding today - all dependent on baby's overnight feeds. Goodness only knows how some people cope. DGD1 has never been on a bus so we're thinking of a trip to Newcastle to partake of free drink and cake at JL.

How many people have DC at home today?

Rudy - glad it went OK and hope you're pleased. We need before and after picsWink.

Today it is dark, raining and like mid winter. I have put on a jumper.

hattymattie · 10/07/2014 07:46

BD - sounds like you've done the night watch - hope DP returned safe and sound.

Auriga · 10/07/2014 07:52

MI, Grin @ 'screaming virago'. May borrow that for a username. Though also quite taken with 'shrivelled dugs'.

re DH: how about 'did we pack my medication?' (on arrival at destination, naturally, not on departure from home, oh no).

bigTillyMint · 10/07/2014 07:54

School is closed for DS's year - he is going shopping!
As DD is unwell with a sore throat, she will be working at home.

It is nice and stress-free here this morningSmile

motherinferior · 10/07/2014 07:55

Mine are off. As I work from home and - crucially - have an office door to slam, I am happily hosting a number of DD2's mates whose mothers also need to get some work done and have thanked me with tears in their eyes.Grin

Bus ride and cake sounds good.

I must get my act together. DD2 at a sleepover...

motherinferior · 10/07/2014 07:56

And well done OPM!

Auriga, shrivelledvirago?

We were supposed to go out last night but having failed to secure a babysitter so we cancelled - dp (mid international conference organising which will kill him) said he'd stay on at work a bit longer.......
At 1.00am I phoned to find out how much longer......... Got in about three-ish.

He's not at work today - I am yawn Ds is at school....

Rudy glad it all went well and OPM that your day was better than expected. Here if they asked me about my job I'm not sure where I would start! (place is imploding from what I can see)

But bathroom inches one step closer :) (I will, before it is demolished, take a pic so you can all see the true horror of what I have been living with for two years....)

bigTillyMint · 10/07/2014 08:47

BD, hope you have a quicker bathroom experience than my kitchen experience!

Rudy, I would LOVE to be sitting around at home! Or going for a bus ride and cake, NU!

herbaceous · 10/07/2014 08:49

DS has recovered, miraculously, and is off school, so I'll be meeting up with a friend for slightly damp fun. In the meantime, he's making a PowerPoint presentation about our 'favourite things', complete with pictures. He's just found one of a wedding, and said 'mummy, doesn't it look lovely. Do you want to get married?', in a slightly loaded fashion. Or so I imagined.

bigTillyMint · 10/07/2014 09:02

Herbs, glad he's recovered. Will there be a Crepey hat buying opportunity then?!

motherinferior · 10/07/2014 09:38

Just suggested to DD1 that she collect her sister if DD2 isn't back by 10 when other child arrives.

I am apparently the Worst Mother In The World and it's SO UNFAIR because she had a lie-in planned.

I said self-righteously I'd go back to earning money, then. Grin I am in fact working on my book project, but she doesn't know that.
