sizing help with saltwater sandals

Am on their site to buy a pair for holiday next week. Have printed off their sizing guide and according to that I should buy a size 9 (the biggest size they sell). I'm a size 7 usually. I've read some threads on mn about sizing up and others saying they bought their usual size.

So, I now have no idea what size to buy, anyone offer any help? I have wide feet if that helps.

Im a size 41 and i buy them in an 8 and they fit perfectly.

OK, so 41 is a UK 7, so that would make 8 what I should get too, yet according to their chart I most definitely should buy a 9

FWIW, how do they come up width wise?

Well i am a regular width and they are fine but if i had wider feet there would be plenty of room for them! The 8 is absolutely perfect on my size 41 feet ( i say 41 because some shops say i am an 8 some say i am a 7 but i am always a 41!

I ignored the charts and bought my usual size (UK 5 slightly wide) and they fit like a dream. I now have 3 pairs

They adapt to your feet shape so have lots of give.

You see this is why I wanted to try before I bought but have had a number of issues with stockists meaning I haven't been able to and their website mentions n o thing about free returns and I don't want to pay to return two pairs.

I also ignored charts - I'm a 4.5 and bought the 5 (in three different colours) and they fit great.

I have wide feet and ordered my normal size. I bought mine from Toast which uses UK sizing, so I just ordered a UK7 which is my normal size and they fit fine.

I bought from the US and ordered a Women's Size 9. I'm normally 6.5 or 7 in the UK and they fitted me.

I went up half a size as felt they came up slightly small.

Without thinking I bought a size online, because I'm a UK5 and they were very small and I sent them back.

I'm afraid to order more......but I want to.

Some websites have the UK size listed, some the US, and some the UK and EU. All very confusing. My dds have them, but US sizing for children seems to be one up from us (eg a 13 is a UK 12) Whereas I know US adult shoe sizing is two up (I am UK 5 and a half, US seven and a half). So I am also clueless about what US size to buy. A US 5 is a UK 3, so they must have been tiny missmartha! My advice would be to buy from a UK based website that has UK sizes, plenty of children's shops seem to do them right up to adult, and there are lots on ebay too.

Ahhh, I see, so those buying their usual size may have bought from somewhere where they list the british sizes, so in sunsan terms they would be bigger sizes (does that make sense?). Maybe I should stick to getting size 9 then.

helly I have a code for the sun san website so need to buy from there rather than another web site.

Just to confuse it more.. I thought the US websites quoted UK sizes. I bought from the US and got my usual size a UK 8 and the sandals have size 8 on the bottom of them. I am a US 10 /EU 41

MrsJK I do indeed have 20% off, but it's a personalised use once code their head office sent me after a huge mix up on their web site with stockists (long story), so I can't share, sorry.

We have a local shop that stocks them so I went in and tried on a size 4 as I'm usually between a 4 and a 4.5.

They were too small but I could tell that a 5 would be fine. Unfortunately the shop had completely sold out of all of their stock apart from the pair I tried on and are finding it impossible to restock.

Every other women or little girl in our town is wearing them at the moment. Usually matching mother and toddler ones!

I really want a gold pair but can't find them anywhere!

I'm usually a 5.5 and bought a size 6 from toast. They fit really well. DD is a kids 4.5 and has plenty of room in size 4 seawees. I managed to find a local stockist which was fortunate because I would have bought a size 6 online based on the sizing guide.

I would probably contact the stockist to find out if they are UK or US sizes

Reastie it sounds like they're using US sizes whereas you are a UK7 and would need a US9

light I have a print out of sizes to put your feet on, an 8 is tight but I'm not sure I can believe I'd be a 9 as it's the biggest size, UK size 7 isn't that big surely?! ANd to add confusion DD is UK 7.5, but on the print out (I've checked sizing has printed correctly) she's a size 7, so how can it go up one size for me and down half a size for her....most peculiar.

I should add DD I speak about children's sizes not adults

I'm a 5.5 and bought a 6 from the website. Perfect at first but now loosened off a tiny bit - still VERY comfortable though!

Having a quick look at some websites, it seems that certain styles come up really big, so that the US size is pretty much the same as the UK one. But not all styles, just to add to the confusion. I think the standard adult sandal is the one that comes up huge in Us sizes, so the US/UK size is the same- The children's ones with the fatter soles are slightly different and are one size up in the US size (So if your child is a 2 you would order a US3). That is what it says on the sites I looked at anyway!
