sizing help with saltwater sandals

Am on their site to buy a pair for holiday next week. Have printed off their sizing guide and according to that I should buy a size 9 (the biggest size they sell). I'm a size 7 usually. I've read some threads on mn about sizing up and others saying they bought their usual size.

So, I now have no idea what size to buy, anyone offer any help? I have wide feet if that helps.

Right, I've ordered a size 8 for me, and chickened out of buying DD a pair . I'm crossing fingers madly they fit as if they don't I'll have to pay postage to return plus non refundable £6 initial delivery fee [eyes water]

Oh new shoes Smile lovely

I just looked at the website and found this

'All sizes published in the menu are specific to the Salt-Water / Sun-San brand and are NOT TYPICAL US or UK'

it looks like you have to go by the chart which it sounds like you have done and hopefully got the right size.Smile

I was going to get a pair of these about Easter time but didn't bother as it was so difficult to guess what size I would want, I went into Toast on holiday but they didn't have my size to try in any colour. I'm also size 7. I didn't want to end up paying postage and return on top of what are not cheap sandals.

ShesARumUn · 26/06/2014 14:03

I am a size 5 UK and bought size 38 from Toast. I also bought a pair from the Sun-San UK website in a size 5 (adult). Both fit perfectly and have size 5 written on the bottom of the sandals.

I've wanted some of these for years. However I am a uk 3/36. As far as I can see they don't do that size at all? Can anyone help.?

LightastheBreeze · 26/06/2014 16:32

Justjuan On the Sun San website are templates for foot sizes to print out so you may fit the childrens/youth sizes.

Reastie · 26/06/2014 16:57

yes just they most definitely do do children's sizes.

I just found out the template I have for the show sizes are the template for the size of the shoe not the actual size of your foot Confused . I think the 8's I ordered may be too small.

Ok. I bought from a UK site with sizes in UK sizes (brilliant English there). I ordered my usual 7. They fit but definitely on the snug side.

ygritte · 26/06/2014 20:52

I sized up by 1 size they are just right. I managed to find them in a shop and didn't even bother to try on my normal size. They are snug but not uncomfortable and so, reading previous threads, they should ease with time/almost immediately. You should be absolutely fine.

justjuanmorebeer · 26/06/2014 22:18

The youth appear to stop at a 2 and the adult start at a 4. Or am I being stupid?

hellymelly · 26/06/2014 23:03

My dd has a size 3. I will see if I can find the website, here-
www.kidsen.co.uk she has the US 3, which may or may not fit you , it is down as a UK 2 and a half. But they also say it is a 35, is that a 3? Anyway, I am a 5 and a half, and when I put on dds sandals they seem more like a 3 than a 2 to me. I could measure them if that helps, she has the style with buckles, but the flatter ones won't be smaller, she has them in a size down and they still fit her.

justjuanmorebeer · 27/06/2014 10:56

Thanks that is really helpful. A 3 is a 36 usually.

justjuanmorebeer · 27/06/2014 11:07

If they fit her does she usually wear a uk 3 in other shoes?

hellymelly · 27/06/2014 11:31

She is a 2 in normal shoes, but the sandals are quite big on her. The sizing is impossible, as they go from 35 to 37, and they also miss out a 30, which my smaller daughter is, there is a 29 and then a 31 so i don't know what to get her either! I have measured the inside of the size US 3 sandals, from toe to heel length they are 23 and a half cm. So maybe check that against some open flat sandals you have already? This style also comes up smaller than the saltwater originals style, they are the surfer, the buckle up ones, and I think the Saltwater are slightly larger. If you call the shop they would measure them for you I am sure.

hellymelly · 27/06/2014 11:35

Actually looking at the kidsen website, it seems they did have a 36 in a couple of colours but they are sold. In other styles there is no 36 listed at all though.

justjuanmorebeer · 27/06/2014 12:28

All the stockists I found last summer didn't do a 36 so I wondered if they just don't make that size? Really annoying. I know toast start at a 37.

hellymelly · 28/06/2014 11:32

If I were you I would buy the saltwater style in a US 3 and see if they are big enough. Then you can get a refund if they are too small. You could also call toast and ask them what their size 37 says on the bottom of the shoe, if it is 4, then the US 3 from a children's shop should be fine.

justjuanmorebeer · 28/06/2014 19:03

Thanks for your help yes will do that.
