Three weeks, tiny budget & no wedding dress.

I get married in 3 weeks. I have nothing to wear on the day and a seriously small budget to work with.
I did post on AIBU 7 weeks ago and got a lot of helpful advice, as well as suggestions to post on here.

I ordered a dress from H&M and lovely as it was on the hanger, it fitted badly and looked awful. Any ideas would be great,.

The coast dress is very pretty. If you are ordering onlinetotop cashback has 5% cashback atm so that would bring it down a little bit more.

Elise Ryan is quite pretty, I wonder if it would look good on me though as Im top heavy. Talking of which, what am I meant to wear underwear wise?
Slight sidetrack, I know, just wanted to get that sorted at the same time as dress. Bridal underwear is pricy too.

Hi OP, what underwear you need depends entirely on what dress you choose.

If you are wearing a tight dress, or want to have some suction power, then you might want to get a pair of spanx.

If the dress is strapless or with sheer straps then obviousy you'll need a strapless bra that fits you properly. If the dress has a low back you'll need either a backless bra, a converter for the straps, or a bustier with a low back.

It depends entirely on the dress! Most actual bridal underwear beneath the dress is fucking hideous!! You just change out of it and into something else if you plan on getting an "early night" with your husband.

If you're going for a dress that doesn't need any particular special underwear then you can just wear what you want! But make sure it isn't bright white if the dress isn't' fully lined, else it will show very obviously in flash photos.

Check out lindy bop, 1950s style dresses that are flattering to all and lovely quality, many styles are used for wedding dresses. The most you would have to pay is £45. Also look on pinterest for any other budget wedding ideas there are loads of handmade ideas for favours etc x x

Hope link works. I wore this. Hideous but did the job. No seams. Had an expensive spanx one but had seam which showed through unforgiving dress. Oh, and i bought said dress 3 days before wedding so you're doing ok! Good luck!

I've got the True Decadence dress that Keely linked to in cobalt blue, and it is fabulous for £35 - the lace is very soft and it is mega flattering. In the cream it would look very bridal

You lot are fantastic. I wish I had asked here when I got married a couple of years ago. I had a dress for £60 from Next as I have no imagination. These are all brill suggestions though. That Coast dress in Champagne, Keely79!!

Find a local seamstress or dressmaker, is there a wedding dress place near you?, you should be able to take the dress to them and for a reasonable price have the alterations made so it fits you properly

Search for the exact dress you want on Ebay. If it's weddingy, then a lot should be put on after a single wear. And places like Coast often repeat very similar designs year on year, so if you try on and love it, look for something like it. You could get an LK Bennett in as new condition for £70 on Ebay easily, easily - and their Davina type styles in white or cream are soooo flattering with baby tummies (mine is my worst area, too).

Special occasion clothing on Ebay is usually excellent value, because the chances of it being worn into the floor prior to listing are low. I bought my wedding shoes from there, because I had no interest in spending £200 on white silk heels when I could buy the exact, once worn pair for £35.

Have you look at Lady V? Some beautiful vintage type dresses and they have some on sale at the moment - they're around £25-£50.
