Yup gotcha MI.

Have eaten a snickers ice cream - feeling remorseful.

Well now I feel bloated and rermorseful - that'll teach me. I need to behave more like a Frenchwoman when it comes to food discipline.

Ha haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa at that bin…how very satisfying, Stropps. Reading today's posts we sound like a bunch of repressed, socialised axe murderers finding release through minor vandalism and variations on the 'drink over the head' of the offending male… I do so love a good tantrum opportunityGrin
WAF I am half way through the second in the 'Fifty…' trilogy, being probably the last female in the world to read them. I actually think that Ana is far more powerful in the relationship that people expect, (if not quite believable as a character), so I'm not especially perturbed by her apparent submissiveness. If one can get past the porn (not difficult…I haven't read anything that I couldn't have found in a Jacqueline Susann novel back in the day) and the fact that the language is poor, and repetitive…I'm quite drawn in by the weird relationship and the power struggle.
Mother I agree, Eric is somewhat full of himself…but such a perfect Christian isn't he

motherinferior · 18/06/2014 18:03

My Best Ever Tantrum, several million threads ago, was when I stomped out to the British Library to work in peace for a few hours and when I came back they'd rearranged the house to give me an office. Grin

I have never read 50 Shades. I fear the prose style would put me off anything remotely sex-related for life.

bigTillyMint · 18/06/2014 18:23

Oh yes, I remember that MIGrin

50 shades is such a crap book. I tried and tried to read it, but never managed to finish it. Badly written tripe. IMHO. Very popular thoughConfused

SheherazadeSchadenfreude · 18/06/2014 18:32

I haven't read 50 shades either. It is very difficult to write about sex, though, avoiding the "tumescent member" and her "hidden loveliness". My friend's sister has published on Kindle and her book is so badly written, it is funny. She is too coy to say "clitoris" so she mentions the "nub". I think we also have silky folds, an orgasm on losing virginity, oh yes, and my favourite line "he sucked her nipples, one at a time and then together". What ever sort of breasts must she have had for him to have sucked her nipples at the same time? I am thinking spaniel's ears, and not sure that is quite the image the writer wanted.

I am in awe of Stropps and the bin. Rispeck.

bigTillyMint · 18/06/2014 18:41

MrsS, I'm snorting!

originalpiratematerial · 18/06/2014 19:06

Grin at the Trash(ed) Bin and at the Bad Sex Award contender!

And huge sympathy to everyone having a shitty time at work. I had a really grim experience work wise last autumn that tipped me over into as close to a major breakdown as I ever want to come. Better now but it is a horrid experience.

bigTillyMint · 18/06/2014 19:11

I agree OPM - I had a really grim experience ten years ago, wouldn't wish it on anyone.

originalpiratematerial · 18/06/2014 19:20

If anyone should want to friend me on FB please do (but I won't be offended if you don't) - I am showing off my grey roots in my profile pic. You can't miss me.

SheherazadeSchadenfreude · 18/06/2014 19:25

OPM - I just feel in quiet despair - no-one is listening. I really don't think the response to "I've been doing nothing but filing, and I don't feel this is my job" should be "Oh but it's quite relaxing, filing, and we all have to do something we don't like from time to time."

Today brought cutting and pasting from a website into a word document.

The saga about my leave continues. BB emailed me and said "I have - today - approved your leave request, thanks for sending it to me, but you need to get it agreed with the next department." So making me sound like I had only just sent it in. I clicked on it in the leave approver thingy, and she had reapproved one day's leave from Easter. Not my summer leave. You couldn't make it up.

motherinferior · 18/06/2014 19:51

The response to "it's quite relaxing, filing" is quite simply "eff off no it's not". Boredom is not relaxing.

motherinferior · 18/06/2014 19:57

Btw I have frequently contemplating making some kind of art installation with the millions of copies of 50 Shades to be picked up from charity shops. I could call it Erection.

bigTillyMint · 18/06/2014 20:04

OPM, you will need to give me a better clue than that. Or PM me!

originalpiratematerial · 18/06/2014 20:51

Have done!

originalpiratematerial · 18/06/2014 20:53

MrsS, quiet despair is very draining. Horrid.

QueenQueenie · 18/06/2014 21:03

Words fail me Mrs S. Much sympathy.

Couldn't we write a Crepey bonkblockbuster between us and cash in bigtime? We could do it on a thread, a paragraph at a time, taking it in turns. I suggest "50ish With Shades of Greying Hair" as a working title.

QueenQueenie · 18/06/2014 21:04

Can I be your fb friend OPM? Pm me? Ta.

Hatty are we fb friends? What is your profile pic like?

Blackduck · 18/06/2014 21:06

OPM PM me and I'll befriend - or find the orange dog in sunglasses on BTMs profile and send me a friend message.

MrsS - it's crap isn't it. Much strength...

QQ, they'd get all derailed in Sainsbury's.

originalpiratematerial · 18/06/2014 22:02

Hah, Rudy - gotcha!

PMs sent Smile

Stropperella · 18/06/2014 22:10

I've just sent you a friend request, OPM. I am green glasses and blond teen. Grin

MrsS, you must be very saintly. I truly couldn't keep my temper with twits like that. But I think quiet despair is a lot worse for one's well being than a good shout. (Not sure of the science, though Grin )

Re: bin - dh's reaction was "Well, that sorts out the 10 year stand-off about who was going to clean the inside".

originalpiratematerial · 18/06/2014 22:17

Eek, it hasn't come through yet, Stropperella - are our communications being intercepted??
