I have always been a Hairy Mary but at fifty it really is getting ridiculous! My bikini line is becoming my sock line- I can deal with this with shaving and epilating but the crack of my backside looks like I have a sporran shoved in. I have tried shaving and creams etc but always get a horrible rash which looks really nice with all the hair growing back Hmm

How can i remove it without getting a rash? I don't want it there anymore

Oh! I meant Grin

I used to have a super hairy arse crack but then I have PCOS and am super hairy anyway. I just used a Ladyshave if I was ever going anywhere where someone would be seeing it.
Then I had DS and one positive side effect was miraculously no more hairy bum but I did get fat knees instead. I would prefer hairy bum to fat knees.

Was this thread started in loving memory of Rik Mayall or something?

He would love it.

Look at him grinning at you all further up the page!

Just get a brazilian with strip wax, totally painless.

diggerdigsdogs · 10/06/2014 14:47

I can't always face the humiliation of lying on my front, parting my own arse cheeks whilst someone applies hot wax to around my dot.

So sometimes I've refused. And quite often had very kind beauty therapist insisting that I should and it's no bother and it would look "sooooo" much better.

So I can only assume I have a sporran down there too.

squoosh · 10/06/2014 14:52

Once you can hold your bum cheeks open for a stranger you can do anything.

Larimarbleu · 10/06/2014 15:19

Okay, Fess up!
After reading this topic, who's actually got the magnifying mirror and heavy-duty torch out and gone exploring (or should that be caving) for bumhair?

Hakluyt · 10/06/2014 15:52

Yet another "imperfection" of a normal body for women to be made to feel insecure about.

You do all know that porn stars bleach their anuses don't you?

Go on, off you go. I'm sure it'd loo sooooo much nicer.

Singlesuzie · 10/06/2014 16:11

Yet another "imperfection" of a normal body for women to be made to feel insecure about.

Who says it is an imperfection? Confused

If my fringe is in my eyes, i cut it- for comfort. If my nails are too long and catching on things, i cut them- for comfort. If my arse hair is irritating me, i cut it- for comfort.

No-one else needs to feel insecure about what i do to my own body for my own comfort. If they choose to take my personal grooming as an insult to them they have issues they need to work through themselves.

Excellent thread!
I get a rash whatever I do bikini wise front or back but I use this as recommended on here which is good but expensive:www.amazon.co.uk/Tend-Skin-Ingrown-Hair-Solution/dp/B001ECQ7G4
I have also made up a homebrew, recipe here when feeling poor:
www.makeuptalk.com/f/topic/1210-home-made-tendskin-recipe/
rubbing alcohol is surgical spirit.

Laser in the comfort of your own home. Philips Lumea. I will never ever wax again.

ShyGirlie · 10/06/2014 19:33

arf at foxes tail!!!! Grin Grin

is it just me, or does anyone else feel uncomfortable in THAT area when reading this all?!?

hilarious thread!

Waxing is the way to go. Find someone you like and work up to it via other less intimate waxes.

For those of you who squat over the mirror at home butt naked - for the sake of your kids, REMEMBER TO LOCK THE DOOR!

For those suggesting IPL or Laser (are they the same thing?) what would you ask for? I've seen those offers on Wowcher etc but they are always for 'normal' hair like underarms and moustaches etc. Not bum hole hair.
I want to go get this done but haven't a clue what to ask for.

wafflyversatile · 10/06/2014 23:27

At the place I've had IPL I'm sure it was down as buttocks. I asked them to clarify if this meant the bit between buttocks and they said yes.

The bit between your eyebrows is the glabella btw.

wafflyversatile · 10/06/2014 23:28

I'm sure they will be used to people asking about bumcracks. Not quite as coy as saying buttocks but not as gauche as bumhole hair.

Freewheelin · 10/06/2014 23:36

My waxer asked if I wanted my bum done. I must admit it's nice to be hairless round there.
Remember the hair starts growing back within days of course and needs to be 50mm before it can be done again. So for three weeks or so you will have bum hair of varying lengths.

darksideofthemooncup · 10/06/2014 23:36

IPL and Laser are different, Laser hurts more but is longer lasting (i've had both on my underarms and bikini line) In fact I am having a session tomorrow and seeing as my lovely therapist is now very familiar with my nether regions I might broach the subject of bumhole hair with her. I'm sure she will be thrilled Grin

Sunflower49 · 10/06/2014 23:49

I bought a Remington i-Light to use on my pubic hair (is that laser or IPL?!)Blush

I can't use it.It hurts SOOO much!Ugh! Spent like £230 or something on it as well. It's weird 'cause I don't have a low pain threshold, or didn't think I had.
Then again my friend has one and has sorted her pubes out with it...

OP, I too use the little wax strips, you can get them at supermarkets or pound shops and I do squat over a mirror. Amazing results after a few goes at it.

darksideofthemooncup · 11/06/2014 00:03

In my experience IPL feels like someone twanging an elastic band against your skin and laser can feel like someone holding a lit fag against you. I never needed icepacks prior to IPL but definitely do with laser.

SirRaymondClench · 11/06/2014 06:38

Darkside which laser do you have and can I ask if it's hugely expensive?

darksideofthemooncup · 11/06/2014 23:14

It's called a YAG laser and it's around £60.00 a session. Usually you need between 8 and 12 sessions so yes it is expensive. It's worth keeping an eye out for Groupon offers though I had my underarms done for £199.00 through one so it was considerably cheaper. It does work though and after years of painful hair removal, having to work out what I can or can't wear depending on the state of my underarms/ bikini line it has been well worth the expense.

MerryMarigold · 13/06/2014 13:43

Agree, I had laser on bikini and it's lasted many, many years. I can't remember what it was called though.
