Has DH lost the plot?

I made a throwaway remark about not buying expensive shampoo in Sainsburys,as he's now out of work, so for my birthday he gives me this complete with matching conditioner. Look at the price - he's lost the plot! Shock

I suspect you telling him you were doing without because he's out of work made him feel a bit bad so he's treating you for your birthday.

Lovely chap :) Enjoy!

flewlady · 17/04/2014 19:00

PS - IME throwaway remarks always hit home!

JeanSeberg · 17/04/2014 19:00

You could have gone out for a meal at wetherspoons for what that cost!

BrianButterfield · 17/04/2014 19:03

Ooh lovely posh shampoo. I love expensive hair stuff, it always smells lovely and you need to use far less than supermarket brands so it lasts a long time. Use it and enjoy it! But it's an addiction - I switched from Aveda to Elvive as on maternity leave but the DH bought me some Mythic Oil stuff and it's so nice.

SauvignonBlanche · 17/04/2014 19:08

I'll be much careful in future flewlady, the stuff I was looking at was £6 and I thought that was took much to spend! He is a lovely chap. Grin

You're right Brian you only need a very small amount! I am using it, but we could have had a lunch out for less!

OP posts:
BrianButterfield · 17/04/2014 19:11

But this will bring you joy for months, when lunch would be long forgotten!

SauvignonBlanche · 17/04/2014 19:20

Good point Brian.

a meal at wetherspoons?

since when is that desirable?

JeanSeberg · 17/04/2014 19:33

Sorry Jay Rayner.

IWantTheOneICantHave · 17/04/2014 19:40

I'd rather have shiny, swishy hair for months over a meal that will be making a second appearance soon (TMI?) and never to be seen again any day!! I'd be over the moon Smile

SauvignonBlanche · 17/04/2014 19:43

I do love it but just got a shock today, I popped into Space NK in town today and couldn't believe it when I saw the price!
I'm going to ban him from the shop until he's back in work!

Legologgo · 17/04/2014 21:33

Lol jean. Good riposte

TheJumped · 17/04/2014 21:35

That looks lovely - silicone, sulphate and oil free? Update us how good it is! My DH nicks my Kerastase and still moans about the cost Angry

Greengardenpixie · 17/04/2014 22:21

Im impressed he knew what to buy for you! My dh would seriously not have a clue. How did he know to get you a silicone, sulphate and oil free one???? Im amazed.

Coumarin · 18/04/2014 02:16

I think that was lovely of him. Impressed he picked up on your throw away comment and was so thoughtful. Enjoy it. Smile

SecretWitch · 18/04/2014 02:29

My hair dresser gave me a sample of this at my last visit. I have been hiding it behind the dollar store cheapie stuff hoping nobody will nick it.

Custardo · 18/04/2014 02:39

tbh, i dont give a fuck if dh was a millionnaire. if he spent 23 quid on a bottle of shampoo, i'd beat him with a soggy sock

SauvignonBlanche · 18/04/2014 11:05

He said the shop assistant told him it was the best GreenGarden she must be on commission. Hmm

He doesn't know that I know how much it costs, as he is visiting PILS with DD at the moment. He's due back tonight, whilst the soggy sock idea sounds appealing Custardo, I think it's probably best that I keep my trap shut. I'd used it once before I discovered how much it cost so there's nothing I can do about it now.

mirpuppet · 18/04/2014 12:34

I think you should keep it.

But most places have a satisfaction guarantee -- so I just returned bottle of 20 pound conditioner to Aveda because it didn't work for me. Granted I asked for a sample and the sales assistant said they didn't do samples, that I could just buy it and bring it back if it didn't work.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 18/04/2014 15:22

That's Jennifer Aniston's brand, it's meant to be fantastic. Iirc the bloke who grew an ear on a mouse invented the frizz free technology behind it, he was sick of his wife complaining products didn't work.

SauvignonBlanche · 18/04/2014 15:27

The things you learn on MN! Grin

alltoomuchrightnow · 18/04/2014 15:31

Aveda gave me a sample yesterday of a shampoo, in House of Fraser! and she offered ! (as i didn't want to commit to full bottle)

alltoomuchrightnow · 18/04/2014 15:32

I think she works on Clinique counter. she put some in an empty Clinique sample tub. Lovely lady, i'd brought some Shiseido and Nars makeup and she fetched me several samples

Coumarin · 18/04/2014 15:50

Well. If it's good enough for Jennifer A and her super swishy locks plus invented by a science genius. Get it used OP!

Coumarin · 18/04/2014 15:51

I want some now...
