Oh noddy don't go - I don't think anyone has rules for anyone else or anything, just that they tend to do their own thing based on what does / does not work for them? I've said "rules", but isn't that just a name for doing something a certain way based on what you like / find that works for you?

I am freelance so not really 'up' on workwear apart from admiring some of my mates and their Clare underwood style which I am v jealous of at times.

Quick one: has anyone seen any affordable plain silver leather pointed or almond toe flats? I can find vinyl, I can find detail (bows, tassles etc), I can find expensive (Jimmy Choo and LKB) but nothing that meets my criteria. I am not loving the cracked finish on the Zara ones, so they are out. I might have to wait for sale time for the LKB Perla silver low wedges (God, I would LOVE them).

I was in Matalan today, of all places, and noticed they have started doing leather shoes. The heels are plastic but I gotthese which I thought were good for £25. They also had some good not worky ones cowboy boots and [[http://www.matalan.co.uk/womens/footwear/boots/s2548876/falmer-suede-ankle-boots slouchy boots which I would have been tempted by had the suede been darker. They come in black too. I am pleasantly surprised by Matalan today!

Oh, annoying that the Next ones won't work. I think they are sling back? I find that style v uncomfy and that the back strap things forever fall down on me.

I could kick myself HARD for not buying the Banana Republic silver pointed flats they did last season. Really stupid oversight.

Btw on beauty front, am wearing a more yellow based nude eye shadow today and I think it makes me look less knackered? Also going to Up the water and Drop the sugar as have terrible under eye black shadows. Will report back if have success.

Right - I have Kendras! Bought a three and a half, as the fours were huge - hope they'll be okay. Am going to wear them with lacy ankle socks all night to wear them in!

I hate rules. And I love ankle straps - have skinny ankles and slim legs, so they are fine on me I think - and tbh even if they are not fine, I like them so will continue to wear them.

The only fashion rule which I think EVERYBODY should adhere to, is to not attempt to wear leggings as trousers.

No shoes for me, the caramel ones weren't available in 6 and the blue were too blue.

Interesting comment up thread about Dune being Dolci's before. £130 is far more than I would spend on those shoes, even without the Dolci's history. My shoe pain point is around £60. I am still sorry I didn't buy the Reiss Dietrich strappy suede heels in the black when they went on sale. I bought the turquoise, but should have got the black, too - they are divine.

I have always found Dune to be terrible quality. They do some nice shoes, but I won't buy from them again. I didn't know about the Dolcis thing.

I have one pair of Dune shoes - the Nins ankle boots. So comfortable. I need to give them a polish, now, but I love them. Google didn't give me an answer as to whether the brand used to be Dolci's. I don't mind, either way.
