are fishnets appropriate for work?

I love patterned tights and work in an office environment. Would fishnets be too much? I'd wear them with pencil dress, cardigan or jacket and heels

I wear them a lot and I am very ordinary - not at all edgy.

I work in a pretty formal environment, mostly men and to me they are way smarter/more sophisticated than opaque tights and more practical than sheer ones (which I seem to be only able to wear once). Mostly wear suits and (I think) the fishnets make them a bit less boring and are very flattering to the legs.

I agree they do make your feet sore.

I work in a solicitors firm. Some of the trainees women wear louboutins but I don't think I have seen micronets yet. I wore them once but did not feel they were appropriate and so stopped.

Totally normal in magic circle city firms. Nobody bats an eyelid. Obviously not wide weave black ones with red roses underneath. Or something like that...

Have to agree with beginner sahm....you can wear them in a formal environment. ...I'm in inv banking and wear em, the trick is with longish dress suit, I wouldn't wear anything as high as the knee.

House of Fraser have a medium decent sale on micronets and Milford atm

I wear them to work. Only with a below knee skirt and as others have said a fine weave. To avoid sore feet I put 'footsies' on first then pop the tights over. I love them, very flattering.

Well, I wear them in a school....

I do all the time. I'm a lawyer and I also wear them to court. As above though not with a short skirt and nine inch heels.
