Comfortable (really comfortable!) ballet pumps

Preferably the bendy sort with elastic round the top. Are there any reliable online sources? I've got a great pair from Pretty Ballerinas but the cost was eye watering and I don't particularly like their current fabrics. I'm off to Paris in a couple of weeks for a mix of work and sightseeing so need some shoes that I can walk around in while also being smart enough for wearing with a dress...

My Bloch ballet pumps arrived today and they're gorgeous! I ordered them on Wednesday evening from the brand boudoir eBay shop. £63 with free postage. They are very comfortable and beautifully made. If anything, I'd say the sizing is slightly generous, I'm between 4.5 and 5 and the 4.5 are v comfy. I don't get the squashed toes as with my French Sole ones.

Fififolle can you link to them on eBay , I can't find them. Thx

fififolle · 14/03/2014 21:08

I hope this works ok!

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 14/03/2014 21:43

Another vote for Banana Republic Ashley ballerinas. Memory foam = v comfortable.

Thanks fififolle. I am a 5 but only 38.5 available. From what you said they 're probably too big?

fififolle · 15/03/2014 18:46

I'd say you'd probably be better with a 38 tess
It might be worth checking their main website here

Those Bloch coral ones are gorgeous! Not in my size unfortunately fortunately for my wallet

MichaelFinnigan · 15/03/2014 19:33

I don't love Bloch ones. I find them too flat and slippy soled.

I had the best ever ones from toast, perfect shape, I prefer a round toe to an almond one, they were bit structured but not too much. Gorgeous, but I wore them out and they don't do them anymore

Jacksterbear · 19/03/2014 18:19

I've just had to send back these Next ballet pumps - very disappointing. Not soft like they look, but hard and uncomfortable, and a weird long thin shape that didn't fit right at all.

Jacksterbear · 19/03/2014 18:19

Oops wrong link! Will try again...

Jacksterbear · 19/03/2014 18:21

here

rollonthesummer · 19/03/2014 20:18

I bought those today Jacksterbear! Ballet shoes for nearly £40, I expected some sort of foot heaven!

They are going back!

Jacksterbear · 20/03/2014 09:44

I'd be interested to hear what you think of them rollon!

specialsubject · 20/03/2014 10:38

boringly - don't wear totally flat shoes all the time. I had a long-standing ankle problem caused by a lot of time in flip flops. The physio said that shoes should have a small heel.

I also would not wear them in Paris, or any French city - or only just after the streets have been washed...

rollonthesummer · 20/03/2014 20:09

Jacksterbear-I thought they were very thin and the edges weren't soft-it felt like they would rub. The soles had that sticky up bit where it was supposed to be extra cushioned on the ball of the foot was just uncomfortable!

What did you think?

Jacksterbear · 20/03/2014 22:58

Yep agree with you rollon! Might try ordering the non-deluxe ones for £28 and see if they're any better!

rollonthesummer · 21/03/2014 07:06

Let me know what you think of the £28 ones if you get them! I still think they'll be more comfortable than the £8 New Look ones, but for forty quid, I expect more!

burnishedsilver · 21/03/2014 09:07

Clarks freckle face / freckle ice (they changed the name for some reason) are the most comfortable shoes I ever had in my life. They are a ballet flat but are very casual, maybe too casual for you. I have them in navy and in red.
