Whistles Tube Skirts

anyone have the Whistles tube skirts?

Thinking of investing in one using the 25% Grazia code but can't decide.

Are they thick?

Have a Bakujen one and the 25% discounts makes the whistles one relatively good value.

Oh now I'm all worried about sizing too I hadn't noticed this thread before I ordered Shock

I'm about a 12 but ordered the 10, BUT I'm pear shaped more than anything so I'm worried a 10 will be too small. Especially if it looked small on the hanger. I'm not small.

DoYonisHangLow · 12/03/2014 21:11

Sorry cross posted with you Remus hopefully the 10 will be fine then.

Shimmyshimmy · 12/03/2014 21:14

I tried on the med and it was slightly too big around my waist - so I have sized down, I think I'm a size 28 hourglass. Does that help?

sansucre · 13/03/2014 20:17

I bought a Whistles tube skirt (khaki knee-length) a few seasons ago and haven't really worn it as I found the length to be unflattering and the material too thick. Actually, I found the whole thing incredibly awkward and never felt comfortable in it.

However, I saw the midi-length striped one online, loved it as it's exactly what I've been looking for, and took a leap of faith and ordered it hoping it would be totally different to the khaki one. And it is! Am so thrilled with it. The material is less thick, the cut far more flattering and it fits me perfectly - the sizing is great. It's ever so slight big/loose across the lower back but I can live with that.
(I ordered it just in time too as it's now sold out in my size online!)

Am now contemplating buying the navy one but am worried it's different fabric. Did anyone order both/can confirm the fabrics are the same?

MissMarjoribanks · 13/03/2014 20:56

I've got mine (black and white stripy) today. It definitely needs heels as it's the midi length.

I'm just not sure I've got anything suitable for on top - all my shirts are fitted.

I sort of sized down - I'm an 8-10 and bought the 8. It's close fitting without being too tight.

bonzo77 · 13/03/2014 22:33

Damn you lot. Have bought it in navy, the shorter length, which is below my knee. Got my usual size 10 as I cannot tolerate anything round my waist so like to wear things on my hips. Now for some nice weather so I can wear it with my sandals....

ChablisLover · 14/03/2014 07:59

Mine arrived yesterday and I love itGrin

Just now to find something to go with it

Mine arrived yesterday and have just tried it on. I'm a ten, and the eight is fine. Really like the length, I can wear this high waisted and it sits perfectly on knees. I'm 5'7'' and get frustrated by skirts being quite short on me.

It's not a double layer though, like the stripy short one I bought last summer. It feels quite heavy, so I hope it holds shape.

All I've got to do now is get rid of the lumps and bumps on hips and thighs!

ncjustbecause · 15/03/2014 09:50

Miss Marjorie - a smart fitted tee?

Floisme · 15/03/2014 10:38

Ah, is the blue and white stripy one not double layered? I can't tell from the website but I probably won't bother if it isn't. Please can someone let me know? Thanks x

Saurus72 · 15/03/2014 11:13

Floisme No, the blue and white stripy one isn't double layered, unlike the black one I bought last Autumn. I tried the stripy one on yesterday in John Lewis thinking I wouldn't want it because it was single layer, but it was actually lovely. I've ordered it from Whistles so I got the 25% discount.

Floisme · 15/03/2014 12:09

Saurus72 Thanks for letting me know. I will probably leave it then, although I'm sure it's lovely, as I think my thighs could do with that second layer Grin I already have the black and the navy so it's not as if I need another!

MadBusLady · 15/03/2014 13:18

Wore my navy short one out last night with brown tee, red mac and leopard print pumps, was lovely and very comfy. Suspect I will be going to that regularly over the summer.

Shimmyshimmy · 15/03/2014 13:52

My stripy one arrived - I'm not sure I think it might show too many lumps and bumps even going up a size - vpl was a problem, it would look ok with a long top but I wanted it to be more flexible than that.

cardoon · 15/03/2014 14:11

Anyone got a stripy size 8 or 10 they would like to sell?

Floisme · 15/03/2014 15:01

I think it's poor that the website doesn't make it clear that the stripy one is only single layered, especially when it costs more! I'd have been pretty annoyed if I'd sent for it and then had to pay return postage.

macandcheesewithbaconbits · 15/03/2014 21:31

Floisme-it's free returns.
I like my shorter navy and 12 is fine- I'm a true 12. Got a white mesh tshirt but that's all to wear it with
