So funny that you mention Kimberley biscuits Decam. Smile I have just arranged with an Irish colleague to bring some to work on Monday!! There is a Tesco near work that stocks them all the time. Ocado often has barm brack too.

Paella isn't very Irish is it? Grin DD has been talking about it non stop since we got back from hols so I am making it for her. I'll probably make some of my mother's raisin buns (cupcakes for the non Irish) and will have Irish coffees for dessert. (and no counting WW points)

SecretSquirrel13 · 14/03/2014 18:45

I love paella and love making it too.

LinusDKD · 14/03/2014 18:54

Evening!

shop be prepared for that J Crew tank to be very very bright! Every time I open the drawer with my new summer tees, it's like being hit by a ray of sunshine. Grin

decam I have already declared my love for that mac when you pinned it last week. It is perfect in every single way!

I tried to order those Oasis flats again today and this time I could choose a non-UK delivery address but it didn't want to let me change country when
I wanted to pay. I might have to ask DMIL to order them for me with her cc.

But maybe someone can check them out for me IRL? If anyone lives near an Oasis store?

Am on my second glass of prosecco as it has been a very stressful week and I am looking forward to the weekend.

justasecond · 14/03/2014 18:56

What was she wearing Bonsoir?
Liberty thats a great attiude to have towards your body, it is not easy to to.
Decam great trench, I love it, worth saving up for!
My bracelet/cuff arrived today and I love it. It is teeny tiny though luckily I have pathetically tiny wrists so perfect for me.

QueenCadbury · 14/03/2014 19:44

linus I'm not planning on going shopping again for a couple of weeks but if you haven't got them by then I can look at them.

liberty that's a very good attitude to have about your body.

MarshaBrady · 14/03/2014 20:25

Liberty I like your style.

Man have just had no power for 3.5 hours. However did they last in the olden days Wink. We played games and watched the (hopeless) tea light flames get dim. Power came back on just as I got back with loads more candles.

shopafrolic · 14/03/2014 20:29

We get loads of power cuts here marsha. Quite like them now, providing the power comes back on before I have to throw out the contents of my freezer.

I bet you are much better prepared then I was Shop! No phone, no battery, not much light. The dc were quite funny though, so it wasn't too bad.

MarshaBrady · 14/03/2014 20:33

The Marant cardigan turned up earlier and I haven't really had a chance to try it on, will do tomorrow. First thoughts are that it's very fine - silk / cashmere and might be too delicate. Lovely colour though Grin

Lovely outnet stuff btw Shop

Bonsoir sounds like a great style mix.

Linus wish I had got tonic too now so I can join you!

Drywhiteplease · 14/03/2014 20:53

Evening all. It's Friday and I'm about to get into my pjs...no socialising this weekend, lots of pj and DVD action yippee

Very interesting body/exercise talk.

Dry's theory part 4:

I hate every minute of exercise, watch the clock the whole way through....but I love what it does to my body, so I guess I must kind of love it.Hmm
I'd rather be eating cheese and French bread Grin
Dress well and no one notices the bad bits.
I agree only on this point with KM that "nothing tastes as good as being thin feels".....so I go steady with the cheese [sob]

Sleep's the expert, I'm the recent convert, but increasing muscle mass is important for women ESP as we get older, helps with osteoporosis and apparently the happy thingies that exercise produce also help with the menopause which is a way off of course

Sleep what's this "mirror therapy" of which you speak?

Have always hated my bum and thighs. When I go to the gym I wear Lycra cycle shorts Shock bloody Shock and you know what? I look in that mirror and compared to other women I don't look bigger at all.
I think at home, in our own mirrors, without any comparison, we can all look bigger/sagger/more wrinkly,we just focus on our "bad" bits and forget about the good parts --which we all have because we're bloody gorgeous.........

Sleep missed you pic, but I know you look fab.
liberty you're great
shop and Decam great shopping

LinusDKD · 14/03/2014 21:03

marsha why do you need tonic? Just stick to Gin! Wink

Talking about gin, DH has been experimenting and put some kaffir lime leaves in some gin and left it for a week. He just made a G&T and I had a sip. Not unpleasant but not sure it works.

dry now I want cheese as well. Good thing I don't have my favourites (Sainte Maure and Brillat Savarin) in the fridge otherwise I would have to raid it!

Thanks queenc but a kind MNVoguette has kindly offered to have a look in store and maybe even buy and send them to me. Now I just hope they are nice IRL!

OneLittleLady · 14/03/2014 21:04

Tis confirmed that DP is going to New York at the end of the month. I am diverting funds to send with him so he can bring me lots of lovely bits back! I'm already checking out what kind of things to list, he's taking a bigger suitcase than he needs to accommodate me Grin

libertychick · 14/03/2014 21:33

Sounds great One. I would be putting a list together from J Crew Smile

LinusDKD · 14/03/2014 21:40

Oh yes one J Crew tees are the best. And maybe some cosmetics at Sephora or some American drugstore brands you can't get here.

MarshaBrady · 14/03/2014 21:50

Yep I'd do J Crew too.

ah that's making me want tonic more Linus Grin

I did a big huge clear out when I had the power cut.

I threw out a bag - some scarves, knitted ones. Old stretched, Stella M one (took me ages to get rid of that because I remember coveting it!), some I&I jumpers, bobbled like crazy. Some very old shirts that had been clogging up the wardrobe.

A big bag to charity - an old Paul & Joe mac, Ralph Lauren thing and some other stuff.

And cleaning some newer stuff for the swap shop - Juicy Couture dress, Vivienne W dress.

All going! Still going to chuck out more. Feels good. Only problem is I have very few clothes left. Wink

santamarianovella · 14/03/2014 21:50

Love your outnet order shop, the j.crew tee,is gorgeous,

Linus I have a very bright fluorescent underwear set, that literally glows in the dark,I once went to bed wearing it with nothing but a plain white tee,dh woke me up in the middle of the night and asked me to change as it was too bright for him to sleep Grin .

one that is great what is on your list?

liberty I loved your post, good attitude Smile,

dry you don't have big thighs! You look ace, you are right,we concentrate on our bad bits more than the good ones,we should reverse that,

MarshaBrady · 14/03/2014 21:51

lol Santa you did really make me laugh.

Fedupnagging · 14/03/2014 21:53

Was intending on having a dry evening but all this talk of wine and G&t's has made me fall of the wagon. Am quaffing large glass of chilled white.

I did a quick order from Next for clothes for work these are ok, this jumper is much nicer than the picture but, these crops are really nice! very flattering despite the fabric and look fab with the dune kitten heels I bought last week. Too nice for work!

Am heading into London tomorrow but have no idea of what I am looking for really. Boyfriend jeans are the only thing on my list atm.

BrandyAlexander · 14/03/2014 21:53

Hello all! Very tired wave to you all from me. Adrenalin has just seeped out so I am clutching wine. On fashion news, I am wearing my lovely new oat coloured cashmere tee with black j crew matchstick jeans. Dune ballet flats and Pashli bag. I am so glad I kept it.Smile

Does anyone shop from Pumpkin Patch? I had a total frenzy there last night as it's 50% off. I bought 30 bits of clothing for the dcBlush.

LinusDKD · 14/03/2014 21:56

Maybe I should wear my neon tees to bed santa Wink

That is so funny!

Fedupnagging · 14/03/2014 21:57

Meant to say that I love the red stripey top Shop. I also like the navy stripe hush dress someone posted earlier.

BrandyAlexander · 14/03/2014 22:05

I like the sweater fedup. I also like the top, though you didn't get it!

this lovely top in 2 colours is what I was distracted by yesterday!

OneLittleLady · 14/03/2014 22:06

Santa this may get me kicked off thread but DC Comics Harliquin Converse hi-tops are first on my list Grin Blush also Revlon Colourstay Whipped foundation.

BrandyAlexander · 14/03/2014 22:11

Grin One! I second having a look at the drugstore stuff. My NYC friends tease me that my 2nd husband is Duane Reade. It's like Boots but a billion times better with stacks of cheap goodies and there's a shop on every block in Manhattan. I love DuaneGrin

santamarianovella · 14/03/2014 22:19

linus get the underwear, its worth it Wink.

marsha I did a huge clear out a couple of weeks ago,and I got rid of 3/4 of my summer clothes,I have very little to wear,Im planing on doing a quick browse at liberty tomorrow, want to try an A.P.C dress they have.

fedup great shopping
