Mara oh no you poor things. Tg for the coat! I tripped on a Wolford plastic tie about 10 days after I had ds2. I always am grateful he wasn't in my arms I fell with such a thud.

MarshaBrady · 13/03/2014 18:38

Anni hope you feel better soon.

Annianni · 13/03/2014 18:53

Thanks M and Shop.

Just asked dh Justa, and he says you have to do it
unless there's a serious reason not to.
Could your dh book time off work?

Annianni · 13/03/2014 18:56

I remember being 10 stone
I remember being 9 stone too
Now at 8 stone I was too thin, and I looked a bit ill.

MarshaBrady · 13/03/2014 18:56

How tall are you Anni?

Drywhiteplease · 13/03/2014 18:58

Yup...no point comparing weights because you must take into consideration height too as Marsha suggests.....and! everyone has different body types too.

Annianni · 13/03/2014 19:01

I'm 5' 7 Marsha

LinusDKD · 13/03/2014 19:01

dry how scary! That happened to DM's car a few times.

It was parked on DP's drive which slopes ever so slightly so it rolled of it onto the street a couple of times.

Only once did it hit a car, which was parked on the opposite side of the road. I remember it was a red Alfa Romeo Spider, very strange after all these years.

DM's did always put on the handbrake but after the last incident she also put the car in first gear and ever since then no car has rolled off their drive.

Apparently there will be a Hush flash sale tomorrow at noon but you'll have to check their facebook page. I'm sure those yellow flats won't be on sale but just in case, how do Stylesnob shoes size?

MarshaBrady · 13/03/2014 19:08

Yes to that Dry. I didn't ever weigh myself in my early 20s so I don't now. Everyone seems to have a good, healthy approach on here which is great, also great to have Sleep on board - very handy!

Liberty I'm impressed with your decluttering. I have so much to throw away or charity I really need to do it, this weekend I think.

And ds2 goes swimming 3 times a week! Twice with me and once with dh. He loves it. Will sign up for lessons now too.

LinusDKD · 13/03/2014 19:13

bonsoir love your IM and Marni buys.

mara I hope you are ok.

justasecond · 13/03/2014 19:13

Anni I suspected as much. I could try defer but don't see my circumstances changing much over the next year or so. Will have to ask DH to take time off but he will not be pleased. Why couldn't they ask him instead?!
Linus I got some style snob flats from AR in the sale but returned them as they came up v small. Unusual as these days I am finding most shoes come up big on me.

MarshaBrady · 13/03/2014 19:13

Linus not sure on Stylesnob. Sale sounds good.

Drywhiteplease · 13/03/2014 19:20

I guess it could have been scary if the car was coming right at me but it wasn't . And I'm used to scary situations at the wheel, happen every day, quite blaze about them now Grin...... Actually, might surprise you, but I'm quite calm in big situations, it little crap that gets me.

I have actually decided that I like my roads like my ski slopes....empty. I would like to get rid of :

Cyclists
Horses
Tractors
Cones
Diggers
Those vehicles that trim verges
Speed bumps
Hills
Other drivers

Grin

Then I'd get a big f Aston Martin and Chanel sunnies and hog the roads Grin

Drywhiteplease · 13/03/2014 19:21

Actually what I'd really like is a chauffeur Wink

MarshaBrady · 13/03/2014 19:22

Arf Grin

justasecond · 13/03/2014 19:25

Bonsoir I love those trousers, a great shape and the sandals are lovely too esp in the colour you describe.
I ordered some gap legging jeans . I tried on the 28r instore which were a litle bit loose on the waist but perfect on the legs alhough too short. I went to order them in 28L but none left so got he 27L which are perfect on waist but now too tight on leg! Such a pain. Have to keep looking.
I weigh more or less the same as in my twenties but am nowhere near as firm Grin

Annianni · 13/03/2014 19:29

Dry :o

LinusDKD · 13/03/2014 19:42

Lol dry!

I have just seen the perfect 'framboise' Wink flats on the Workwear Edit blog but do Oasis deliver to where I live? Nope!

They claim to deliver to EU countries (so I could have it delivered to DPIL) but it wouldn't give any other options when I tried to check out. Grr!

Might try and ring them tomorrow. if I still like the flats

LinusDKD · 13/03/2014 19:43

these

Bonsoir · 13/03/2014 19:55

Thanks for the thumbs up on my purchases Smile.

On the weight thing - I'm more or less the same weight I was at 18 but it's sadly not the same silhouette. I have debates with myself as to whether I want to go for the muscly look that so many women in their 40s choose when it all starts to head south. I'm not wildly keen on it and it seems like so much running and boot camps eeugh hard work to achieve and maintain if I'm not sure I prefer it to my slightly softer edges. What do other posters think?

Turquoiseblue · 13/03/2014 20:16

Very funny dryGrin
Shop - enjoy the reading and trashy tv.
Linus nice jacket.
Liberty love the cardi - you getting ready for Monday Grin?
Yikes Mara glad DS was ok.
I agree swim lessons (formally) before will not really result in kids actually swimming per say - they don't get those co ordination skills and strength yet. However there s a lot to be said for learning to put tier face underwater and to float, tread water get in and out of the pool etc - if you knew what to teach or check out the basic skills you could do a lot of it- I swim lots (and have since I was younger doing galas etx) I have brought the dc since they were toddlers - and worked on so basic skills like kicking breathing floating balance etc DS does lessons now too but these early lessons work for some.
In fashion news is anyone finding things a bit 'meh' at the moment ? I want a as shopping list - but I m a bit uninspired !

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 13/03/2014 20:24

Hehe dry empty roads are indeed the best. If you have to drive yourself of course Wink

Those flats are a lovely colour Linus, hope you can get them.

First fasting day dinner done - stir fry prawns with LOADS of veg and LOADS of chilli, mouth on fire! I am 5'6 and about 9st 7, over a stone more than when I was 18. Not that I want to be that weight again (as if!) but it would be nice to just lose a few pounds, esp before holiday. The 5:2 is more for DP than me.

Bonsoir it sounds like you may already have your answer from what you said :)

Oh no justa re delivery van! And I'm sure your DH will be ok with the jury service, you can't help it after all. Hopefully it's short - my SIL did it recently and it was a 3 month long trial!

LinusDKD · 13/03/2014 20:31

bonsoir even though I would still like to lose a bit more weight, I realise I will never have the body I had when I was 18, which I'm ok with.

I don't like the whole Madonna overly sinewy and muscly look personally and looks weird in contrast to her puffy and plumped up face.

Looking toned and healthy is good but she (and others) is overdoing it IMHO as it is not her 'natural' body type.

Bonsoir · 13/03/2014 20:35

Linus - you are right about Madonna and, in fact, my friends who are very muscly are also quite botoxed and filled and are - yes - from the US. I think that the aesthetic is not one to which I am culturally acclimatised!

Maybe Pilates would be better? It's the running/weight lifting that gives such hideous dubious results.

AmberNectarine · 13/03/2014 20:38

Luckily I was fat in my late teens/early twenties so I can cheerfully say I look much better now! Am definitely the fittest I have ever been!
