Hiya. Thought I'd start a nice fun one.

I don't straighten my hair. Have long choppy thick dark blonde which I'm about to put highlights in.

Am quite thin but have hips, but really flat stomach. Have to watch my bum but still look good in skinny jeans. Sometimes we a shirt black body on dress, leg warders and biker boots. Do the whole black nails, good jewellry thing.

I also have a ghost dress, floor length, great fabric, wear with flat suede flip flops. So I like that sort of thing too.

Mum didn't allow us to choose our clothes at all. Had a very bad upbringing and clothes wee the last thing on my mind so now enjoy that side of life.

This year fancy a long yellow sundress and will wear a headband.

Most of my great clothes are second hand. Like silk camisoles from ebay, all saints stuff, religion sometimes. End up in flat shoes as walk a lot, wish I was still wearing heels. Don't miss the suit thing from corporate days. Like wearing nail varnish. Got a boyfriend who is a musician so go to loads of gigs and see the girls there. Keeps me young I think as am forty this year!!!

Sorry for the massive post! Have had wine!! Anyone fancy taking about clothes?

I strive for scruffy chic. The first part is easy.

TheJumped · 23/02/2014 14:49

Hopefully - yes, I am curvy atm Hmm

I don't mind the extra boobage but I just don't suit being bigger, I got enormous in my previous pregnancies so am dreading the later stages (am early days so will be huge by summer when baby due)

I promised myself new Diesel jeans after my last pregnancy when I got back to a size 27. I will need a similar motivation this time I think.

When are you due?

lucyintheskywithdinos · 23/02/2014 15:13

I have bra strap length dark brown dreads, I'm 5'4 size 12 and 'rectangular' shaped, very straight up and down with skinny arms and legs.

Yesterday I wore olive skinny jeans, a Doctor Who t shirt, smart navy cardigan, purple DMs and a purple vintage scarf tied as a bandana (piratey!) on my head. That is fairly typical, but I do usually wear more vintage stuff than I was wearing. I always have a vintage scarf about my person Grin

For a night out, it would be blue skinny jeans, ballet flats or sandals (I never wear heels) and a nice but fairly plain top under a fabulous vintage jacket. My current favourite ones are an emerald green satin one and an oversized houndstooth one.

Aelfrith · 23/02/2014 15:21

I go for a rock chick boho look according to my DD!

Asymmetric bob haircut with purple streaks. Nude makeup except heavy black eyeliner. Sometimes big sunglasses.

Fitted tops, ballet style wrap around cardigans to minimise norkage. Or boleros. Velvet jacket on top.

Kilts, rolled up jeans, floral skirts. Tights or bare legs in summer.

Biker boots, converse or plain leather sandals.

I am 44 and not at all skinny! I feel like myself when I dress like this. I've tried doing the White Stuff and fat face surfer look but look ridiculous. I can't do linen at all....I just look like I've slept in my clothes.

charitygirl · 23/02/2014 18:01

5'8" - Size 10-12 - hourglassy, muscly bum and thighs!

Never wear - boxy tops, drapes or cowl necks, stripes, printed jersey, stilletos, chunky knits, tunics, big bangles, lace, silk scarves, cocoon coats (though I love them)

Love to wear - brogues, ankle boots, trainers, tube skirts/dresses, skinny jeans and leggings, delicate cardigans and jumpers, high waisted things, fitted tops, blouses, gold jewellery, non-silk scarves, fitted jackets.

Hopefully · 23/02/2014 18:12

TheJumped only another 5 weeks to go here, so am at full on whale proportions. I cannot wait to start exercising again (gaining rapidly due to SPD kicking in properly a few weeks ago). I don't carry weight well at all. I have ambitions of a second pair of leather leggings when I get back down to my normal size 10-12.

Lj8893 · 23/02/2014 18:22

I dress girlie, slightly vintagey, slightly boho/hippy. But do the sloane look quite well when I fancy something smarter.

Favourite daytime outfit is tights, riding boots, pretty tea dress and a blazer or chunky cardigan. With my hair naturally wavy or piled loosly on top of my head.

For a smarter look I wear skinny jeans, heeled boots and a pretty blouse.

MissBeehiving · 23/02/2014 18:44

Size 10/12 5ft5

All my clothes are very simply cut. Often collarless. I don't like fuss or frills on me at all. I don't have any pattern in my wardrobe apart from leopard print or stripes. I like natural fabrics best and wear a lot of silk, wool, cotton etc and good quality jewellery. Muted colours - cream, camel, sludgy pink, greeny grey, muted blues, navy, some black

I work in a corporate environment so usually a good suit with a simple top or sweater or a simply cut dress. When not at work I wear skinnies boots and either a silk shirt or a cashmere sweater. Sounds boring Grin but suits me.

something2say · 23/02/2014 19:15

All of my jumpers are cashmere....love it....

I suppose 'quirky' would be the best description.

I wear simplish styles but usually with a pattern. Patterns are mostly animal themed. My favourite items are boldly printed or patterned, eg a sweatshirt with a big lobster on the front, the ubiquitous Kenzo tiger tee, silk shirt with little zebras running across it etc

Today I wore a navy, white and green striped cashmere crew neck, ripped skinnies and leopard print skate shoes. My most recent night out outfit was a Peter Pilotto for target graphic tee and leather shorts with pointy ankle boots.

charitygirl · 23/02/2014 19:25

That reminds me amber - I wear a lot of leopard print. My Nikes are orange leopard print...

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 23/02/2014 19:33

Work - I generally aim for a cross between Miss Moneypenny and Minnie Mouse.

Casual winter - dp calls it, 'Middle class mum' but I try to cross that with quirky elements such as a scarf with deathwatch beetles on or some such.

Casual summer - I aim for Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday but am probably closer to Minnie Mouse in flip flops.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 23/02/2014 19:34

Oh and I wear lots of black, even in Summer.

Puddles1234 · 23/02/2014 19:51

Glamorous.

I'm a Stay at home wife soon to be Mummy so I have plenty of time on my hands to get dressed.

Daytime: My go to outfit at the moment is cigarette trousers with stiletto heeled pumps and a simple camisole and a Chanel boucle jacket or a pencil skirt with a short fur coat.

Evening: Always dresses at the moment whilst pregnant with a barely their sandal.

Makeup and Hair: Always lots of volume I'm a slave to hot rollers and my makeup is always contoured face with a smokey eye (bronzed for daytime and Charcoal for evening) with either a nude lip or a statement red lip.

Accessories: Hermes scarfs, Birkin or Kelly or 2.55 for handbag.

Theoldhag · 23/02/2014 20:03

5ft 10", size 8/10, 9.5 stone (eats lots...), a willowy vase shape, tiny waist, curves in right places. I wear all length skirts from short/mini to ground sweeping. I like colours rather than black, tend to wear autumn leaf colours, blues and greens. Really love fudge/toffee/chocolate colours. Don't often wear jeans I tend to wear floaty silks in the summer and cashmere sweaters of simple design and subtle pretty cuts with short wool skirts. Lots of muted coloured tights/stockings/leggings. I love elegant shaped patterned tunics in jersey cotton and shaped jumper dresses.

I love scarves, throws, shawls.

Hair I do as a pixie cut (chestnut red but henna it different shades) and keep my makeup simple, have naturally dark eyebrows and lashes, deep blue eyes and a magnolia complexion that goes golden brown with freckles in the sun. Tan very easily and don't tend to burn. I do not wear lipstick as a rule, I also dislike any thing on my skin such as foundation etc.

I tend to be quite eclectic with regards to style and love mixing and matching items depending on my mood at the time.

Absolutely love soft textured natural fabrics.

I dislike scritchy man made textiles, things that are one stop/one season fashion wear, sequins, etc. I really hate faddy fashions and anything that has rules.

mumblechum1 · 23/02/2014 20:11

Some of you lot sound like you're on Plenty of Fish Grin

Puddles1234 · 23/02/2014 20:14

TheJumped I take it you don't like my 'Look'

I'm very pregnant now so I am not up to my usual standards. Anything for comfort is the aim of the game right now.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 23/02/2014 20:19

I bet you're wearing leggings and a hoodie right now, Puddles, eh? Grin

WipsGlitter · 23/02/2014 20:21

Frumpy. Boring. Invisible.

I've put on loads of weight, can't afford anything nice anyway.

I used to be so into clothes but don't really care now. As long as it fits and it's cheap. Sad

My hair needs cut and coloured badly, I'm trying to grow my fringe out so looks terrible. I do have good skin though.

Theoldhag · 23/02/2014 20:21

Hehe mumble

I think everyone sounds really lovely in their styles of clothing. It is super to read what others like to wear and why, I do think that we are very lucky to be able to be creative and imaginative, there are so many women in the world that are unable to express themselves in this manner. Diversity makes me smile!

Puddles1234 · 23/02/2014 20:23

Haha absolutely not. I'm wearing a cashmere lounge suit. I may be pregnant but I wouldn't purchase a hoody for all the comfort in the world.

Theoldhag · 23/02/2014 20:24

wipesglitter Sad I am so sorry to hear that you are feeling so ugh about yourself right now, I hope that you can get your mojo back.

(((hug)))

Puddles1234 · 23/02/2014 20:25

WipsGlitter

I hate to see women feeling that way. I bet your beautiful.

You need to start caring and I guarantee you will feel better. I always feel better when I'm dressed nicely.
