It's been a while since I set one up so thought I'd do the honours.
For glass half full fashion fanatics. Bring a positive attitude, a love of clothes and lots of lovely links. All welcome, from high street to high end.

Hi everyone. Brew to all.

Grumpy, I will bet my latest bling on the fact that you are neither a 34 or a 36! I am a size 6, and 28E. Bit under boobs fluctuates between 27 and 28 and over boobs is 34. Your band size is determined by exactly what the tape measure says! Although you can either go up or down a band, eg I could wear a 26 (ha, good luck finding that!) or a 30 (I do wear a 30 the week of my period as I find it more comfy).

The letter is determined by the difference between over boobs and under boobs. It goes A B C D DD E (you go up a letter each inch). So my inch difference makes me an E cup.

If I am a 28, I would hazard a guess that you are 30 at most on the basis you're a 6/8. A 36 band would mean you were roughly a size 14 in most shops.

I love love love nice underwear - have done a figleaves order this week as they were doing a 70% flash sale.

Shop yey for a holiday ....where you going?

Drywhiteplease · 26/02/2014 21:50

To cheer us up;
place your votes.......you can have one winner and a runner up each.

Me:
The winner is Hilary Swank, beautiful, sexy backless blue.
Runner up........Nicole Kidman yellw (Dior ?)

OneLittleLady · 26/02/2014 21:59

Winner Julia Roberts
Runner Up Michelle Williams

Gah, I need to stop obsessively checking my e-mails. It could be weeks, months even before I hear from uni but I can't stop checking to see if there's news every five minutes!

Mignonette · 26/02/2014 22:25

I don't really like any of them - bit old fashioned. I'm with Andre Leon Talley who said he wishes those often very young women would stop already with the long dresses, going short and modern instead.

I guess at a pinch The Kidman dress and the Michelle Williams yellow.

Drywhiteplease · 26/02/2014 22:29

I agree Mig the American awards do seem to like a more sophisticated look. Young women dress much older it's true

Mignonette · 26/02/2014 22:56

I look like an Olsen twin in a long dress Grin. So that prejudices me towards a short.

Mignonette · 26/02/2014 23:07

Key Lime and coconut birthday cake made by my daughter.

Yum Mig, if that looks 1/2 as good as it tastes, your dd is super talented.

A pols for the me me post earlier and Thanks to everyone with difficult family situations xx

libertychick · 26/02/2014 23:52

No need to apologise for your post Turq!

Great cake Mig.

Good question Dry. Winner for me is Audrey Hepburn - that dress is so 'her'! Runner up - Kate Winslet although I would prefer the dress didn't have the fussy shoulder strap.

LinusDKD · 27/02/2014 07:17

Morning!

Thank god I only saw the pics of that cake this morning mig otherwise I would have had to sneak downstairs to raid the fridge. Looks delicious!

My favourite Oscar dresses are the Valentino Julia Roberts wore and the Tom Ford Gwyneth Paltrow wore. Stunning!

I also liked the white shirt (from her then husband apparently) and blsck skirt combo Sharon Stone wore to the Oscars years ago.

I'm just not into the ruffled meringue wedding dresses that most actresses seem to wear e.g. Penelope Cruz.

grumpy no idea about eyelash fillers. I would be very careful where you have it done though!

BecauseIsaidS0 · 27/02/2014 07:31

For me, the winner would be Nicole Kidman in the red Balenciaga even though she is not, in my opinion, the best person to wear it. Imagine Marion Cotillard in a chignon!

Runner up Julia Roberts in Valentino.

shopafrolic · 27/02/2014 08:10

Morning all. Pic of holiday destination is you know where.
Grumpy re: eyelash fillers. My friend runs a salon where they are done (I've never had them). They look fab initially, but as time goes on they can start to fall out and look a little spidery. She also tells me that you have to take a break once in a while and can feel 'naked' while you do. That said, I know lots of people who couldn't be without theirs now......

Stay away from Latisse Grumpy - I am amazed to think that people are willing to use a Glaucoma medication to get thicker eyelashes. It turns your eyelids a livid purple.

I read an article recently about eyelash enhancement and cannot recall where but it recommended different treatments based upon what kind of mascara you favoured. Will try to find it.

turq- nothing me me about your post at all. This thread is great in that nobody is offended by the mix of angst and fashion Grin.

LinusDKD · 27/02/2014 08:19

Love the colour combination on these

shopafrolic · 27/02/2014 09:05

I love those ones too Linus - am v tempted. Mine are a 7.5 though and they don't seem to have that size. I'm still lusting after these but then until NB refund me the £100 they owe me I'm not giving them any more of my ££££

MarshaBrady · 27/02/2014 09:11

Help me decide pretty please Grin

I have three hours to fill while cleaner deep cleans.

Creative director haircut £82 (makes me weep but usual £62 not available until next week)

Or

Test coffee machines at JL?

Shop great news on holiday!

Liberty I feel the same about Aus. Sorry to hear about work.

Linus love those NB colours.

Annianni · 27/02/2014 09:19

Marsha I thought you'd just bought a coffee machine?

Which makes you happier... Coffee or nice hair?
I'd ignore the price difference and go with gut feeling.

MarshaBrady · 27/02/2014 09:23

We nearly had a family breakdown over the Gaggia and sent it back. Leaked all over the kitchen, dh very unhappy! So will test more before buying.

Would love to do hair but thought £ might be crazy.

BecauseIsaidS0 · 27/02/2014 09:25

I'd go hair!

I had a Krupps for many years and it worked great, but after a bad case of food poisoning and palpitations over Christmas, I have gone off coffee. Probably for the best.

Annianni · 27/02/2014 09:31

Go with hair then, it's £20 difference... Not worth stressing over.

If you have time before or after hair, look at coffee machines.

Annianni · 27/02/2014 09:46

Leopard gigis on the outnet for £50 and some lovely Anya H bags

Umlauf · 27/02/2014 09:47

For me, Michelle Williams' wang for the colour and draping the Marion cottilards as it's slightly quirky and it remins me of my wedding dress so makes me smile! This was my wedding dress, it was a sample made by Caroline castigliano but she never made it again because she thought the lace wasn't classic enough. Hmm

MN Vogue - vol 34
Umlauf · 27/02/2014 09:48

I'd do the hair marsha but only because I have to psych myself up to get mine done!!
