Lalsy, Woolover effectGrin I have not been offered anything in years either!

We don't generally get searched, but both DH and I were in Gatwich pre-skiing last year. It's the having to remove boots, belts, etc that is so wearing.

Stropperella · 06/02/2014 15:21

Hello all. Am slightly worried about posting this, as I fear this may be an S&B fail, but I have just bought myself (yet another) dress from here . It's all man-made fibres a-go-go, but I really like them anyway. And I don't do dresses or tunics as a rule. But these ones are good for shortarses. :)

QueenQueenie · 06/02/2014 15:27

How are you lovely Stropps?
Some of those dresses are nice! Which one have you bought? Link?

motherinferior · 06/02/2014 15:44

Ooh, I like them.

(Have you made your appointment ?)

Hi Stropps! {{ }}

Liking some of those (and I am not a big floral person....) Hope you are feeling better and agree with Rudy...

BTW - forgot to say - I loved your cardi the other night.

Here I am hearing increasingly worrying things about my new boss (smiling crocodile being about the best) - I fear that at the next meet up I shall be in a corner with MrsS swopping stories about ABs.....

hattymattie · 06/02/2014 16:24

I really like dresses Stropps, although less keen on the viscose. I'd be tempted to go for one or two and see how they hang/wash etc.

motherinferior · 06/02/2014 16:25

Talking of MrsS, how many corkers do you think her appalling mother has come out with today at the funeral?

Blackduck · 06/02/2014 16:37

Oh now there's a thought MI!
MrsS we need details.....

cremolafoam · 06/02/2014 16:45

Stropps I can really see you in one of those tunics: I think they're gorgeous - ooh and another clothes website I'd it seen before - so thanks .Grin

Lol mi I bet mrs s had had a trying afternoon. Confused One way or another .

I am wearing my bargainous bought at a Danish jumble sale on Sunday Day Birger et Mikkelsen top. 20 krone
Could have gone bonkers at that place if I was a dogged ebayer. Piles of matinique/ Ilse jabobsen/ Vila stuff for pence.
Herbs You'll be delighted to hear Didrikssons abounded and were the outer wear du jourGrin

bigTillyMint · 06/02/2014 16:59

Yes, I can see you in one of those StropppsSmile

I am so Envy of all you lot who have been to the US. DH is not so keen (fears waddling back in outsized check trousers after all the food!) DS would kill to eat the Man-v-food meals he's always ogling on TVGrin

Just me and DS tonight - DD and her friend have gone off to Walthamstow to watch their mate play footy (if you fancy it, Herbs?!). Not the best of nights what with the weather and tube strike - fingers crossed they get there. At least they have a lift back with his mum! DH has yet another Parents Evening....

Stropperella · 06/02/2014 17:06

Today I am wearing this , which I have had for a while and I have just purchased this, although I am a teeny bit worried that the latter may make me look like a sofa. They are made of quite heavyweight material and wash well with no bobbling etc. Also lovely and warm. Which is good when you are standing in a draughty school hall - which is where I was this morning.

Hope MrsS has survived today ok.

I have a doc's appmt tomorrow morning.

bigTillyMint · 06/02/2014 17:20

Stropps, neither look sofaish, although I do like a good sofa print! And great news that you have a doc's appointment. Make sure you tell him/her how it is!

motherinferior · 06/02/2014 17:35

Hurrah, Stropps! Now, look back at the last thread and print out a couple of posts...

addle · 06/02/2014 17:39

Stropps that brown dress was the very one I admired from your previous link, am sure it looks v good

Hope all goes well with GP tomorrow, will be thinking of you.

BTM hope your dd survived the controlled a. ; my ds had one today - seems unruffled

bigTillyMint · 06/02/2014 17:52

Addle, I think she did an ISA yesterday which she said went OK. Not sure if they finished it today?

NUFC69 · 06/02/2014 17:54

I like the dresses, Stropps. I know you describe yourself as short, I am 5' 7", would they be very short on me, do you think? I have one dress which I wear occasionally and I do think that I should branch out.

Glad to hear that you have your GP's appointment; I hope it goes well. Don't be like me, tell it how it is so that they can help you.

I have actually done an hour on the exercise bike and then this afternoon went out for a walk - am now exhausted, but with a virtuous glow.

Stropperella · 06/02/2014 18:33

NUFC, I'm 5' 2 and three quarters. (the three quarters is v. important Grin ) and the first dress I linked to is about 2" above the knee on me, so I'd reckon they would be shortish on someone of 5' 7", but as they are thick material they look fine with thick tights/leggings and even skinny jeans (although my bum is a little large to get away with the latter). I'm a size 10-12 and I take their size 2. I'm assuming that the second dress I linked to will be a bit longer.

I have been doing my 2 jobs today (am school job, pm usual job), followed by taking ds to his piano lesson, then collecting him + friend from tae kwando and then I will go to circuits. I have also had a totally miserable walk in the bloody endless bloody rain with the dog. Who did a protest in the middle of the school lake field. I couldn't see him next to me or anywhere near and then when I finally spotted him, he was standing sadly in the middle of a giant puddle, just giving me the evils. I think he was saying "this is not a walk; this is long-distance paddling". I'm glad I'm probably going to be working the w/e and am not planning on going anywhere. I think Weymouth is about to float away...

hattymattie · 06/02/2014 18:59

I like "long distance paddling".Smile. I like the site Stropps but they don't give the garment composition on some of the garments like the knitwear for example.

Good luck with the GP appointment and I hope you're away from the floods.

The Inferiorcats have stayed sensibly indoors, occasionally twitching a paw mid-snoozeGrin

QueenQueenie · 06/02/2014 21:43

wimpy ddog can tell it's raining at 100 paces and curls up in her bed like a hedgehog. She would never agree to go for a walk in the rain! She has us extremely well trained.

Stropperella · 06/02/2014 22:14

Stroppdog has just gone out in the pouring rain for his second walk of the day, this time with dh (who will probably be working until 2am tonight). Stroppdog insists on going out twice a day in all weathers and in all states of health. Indeed, because of his patchwork appearance following his many operations, he is known to some people as Frankendog. He will not ever avail himself of the facilities available in our garden and is mightily insulted should one suggest this. I have, on occasion, booted him into the garden in the hope he might have a poo there, but he just sits in the middle of the lawn glaring balefully at the house and looking uncomfortable.

QueenQueenie · 06/02/2014 22:29

Good luck for your appointment tomorrow Stropps. DON'T be all stiff upper lip and downplay what a hard time you have had recently . Will be thinking of you.
