And a new door opens...Grin

MrsS, that sounds ultra farty healthyGrin

I could barely get in my front door this evening for all the bags of (our old) topsoil piled up, but the gardener has lined up another customer (another Kiwi!) to take it away, so it should all be gone in a couple of days.
I am currently googling wooden garden storage benches if anyone has any recommendations?

CointreauVersial · 14/01/2014 20:55

Thanks for the tips and suggestions regarding the iPad.

I wouldn't attempt it myself, and most YouTube repair videos seem to hinge on broken glass, whereas the glass is unblemished; it's something behind the glass which has broken, so there is a jagged diagonal line across the display with half of it black. But household insurance is a possibility I just wish fences were covered

motherinferior · 14/01/2014 21:10

Dishwasher appears to have packed up completely, though has collected more water. Is still under guarantee so will get it checked properly. I could really do without this! Have broken out in blotches, so attractiveGrin

I am spotty too. Is it hormones or the weather?

Have to say I am utterly gripped by the Francois Hollande/Valerie Rotweiler/ Julie Gayet shenanigans. I bet Segolene is laughing like a drain.

Can't face doing anything with the clothes. Tomorrow is another day, and all that. Doctor on Friday morning to deal with my revolting eczema.

cremolafoam · 14/01/2014 23:04

The national ménage a trois is very entertaining. I am fascinated by the cure sommeil^ Or whatever you call it. Why have I never heard of such a thing?

Sorry about all the broken bits of equipment this month. We live permanently in a quagmire of wretched broken things.i loathe it.
We have no plates sans chips any more...Wink

CointreauVersial · 14/01/2014 23:51

MrsS, ask your doc for Elocon. It is miraculous on excema. You only need to apply it once or twice, and job done.

Blackduck · 15/01/2014 05:43

Here ds's lights are still not fixed (must book electrician) and car window screen has cracked......

Ho hum...

hattymattie · 15/01/2014 07:07

Mrs S - Segolene and Sarko must both be enjoying a touch of - well - schadenfreudeWink . I wondered if Trierweiler had OD'd to be that length of time in hospital.

Bonne chance to everyone with their faulty appliances and leaky chimneys. These things are always so exhausting on top of everything else.

bigTillyMint · 15/01/2014 07:32

Yes, yes re the Menage a Trois! Can't wait to see my French friends at half-term...Smile

Our faulty thing is the TV - picture seems to be breaking up a bit, but mainly when we are watching Celeb Big BrotherConfused

Had curious new experience last night. Members of my choir were asked to join in the chorus parts of a local G&S production. I went along to the read/sing through rehearsal last night, expecting the usual local amdram bumbling incompetence and for us to be 'saving them'.

In fact, they were amazingly brilliant. All the principals had fantastic, professional-type singing voices, the chorus all knew the tunes and words perfectly, and the director has been in the ENO, Royal Opera House, and is an actual thespian. I, on the other hand, was sight reading, bumbling along and being shit. I feel a lesson has been learned.

Blackduck · 15/01/2014 08:57

BTM I think there may be a hint there ;)

I was reading up on this First Lady Stuff - I was a bit Shock - setting up charities with tax payers money!

motherinferior · 15/01/2014 09:03

I have sort of finished the first draft (when I say first, it's more like the 101st) of my book, celebrated by yet another agent rejection, but need to go back and hash it back into a(nother) shape. Again.

Oh, bastards. I love a tealight, though don't light them often enough.

I am going to see two friends who appear to have lived v happily in an Open Relationship (no kids, they never wanted them) for years, next weekend.

My ex is staying with them too (he's an old college friend of hers, back from working abroad, currently otherwise homeless) which I hope doesn't make things awkward Wink. I think I've forgiven him for chucking me.

One of my best chums at university always used to refer to the 'lodger' who lived with his family. Turns out she was his mother's lesbian lover. The mother would spend one night with LL, and one night with the dad. The dad had a girlfriend in Sweden, or somewhere. Remarkable.

In S&B news, I've bought some new-fangled No7 CC cream. I think CC stands for colour-correcting. It seems rather good.

Rudy - excess to be paid... but will get done today hopefully. Dp and I did go out yesterday and had a cup of tea (be still my beating heart) and looked at each other dolefully (he is really ill.....) It was not the high point of my day :)

Menage a trois - don't think I could cope, it's bad enough with one.......

Menawhile ds (10) has been dumped by his girlfriend - loves young dream ;)

bigTillyMint · 15/01/2014 10:15

Herbs, I have that CC cream too - seems to work OK?!

motherinferior · 15/01/2014 11:09

My Toast jeans have arrived. They are perfectly nice, if a little roomy. Also I am reminded yet again of just how very short I am. 31' leg my @rse, even if they are intended to be rolled up. I see myself getting the wundaweb out (and then rolling up to disguise botch job...)

OP posts:
bigTillyMint · 15/01/2014 12:42

At least you can roll em up, much better than swinging!

bigTillyMint · 15/01/2014 12:43

I am so tired. Why does DH have to fratch about all night when he can't sleep?Angry

motherinferior · 15/01/2014 13:03

I have foolishly agreed to let the Inferiorettes sleep in my bed while their father is away even though sleeping on my own is an absolute joy. They take turns. DD1 hogs the duvet. DD2 works her way round to being horizontal in the bed.

OP posts:
hattymattie · 15/01/2014 13:05

Menage a trois - I definitely have not got the energy.

I'm now pondering getting some tea light to cheer me up in this dreary weather.Hmm
