MrsS, so sorry about your uncle.

BTM, hope your dd has a lovely weekend after all that!

Crepey jumper - yes, agree you need something under it, I favour Uniqlo Heattech tops. I find the boxyness is great as I don't get so hot and bothered but with a thermal under it is very warm when you need it.

herbaceous · 24/01/2014 13:38

Sorry about all your family woes, Mrs S. I'm afraid I'm another one who can't take the cats, as I think our current one would leave home. Which would be a waste of all those vets bills.

Runners/ladyjoggers: I'm finding I get a pain right behind my kneecap when running, and even when going up stairs. Is this something I can get over with practice, or strength exercises? Or is it likely to lead to two replacement knees within five years?

Sorry about your uncle, Mrs S. and wish could take the cats but like Herbs we have an unsociable bugger of our own

BTM - good for your DD. my DS has gone through the week protesting loudly about doing any revision/work at all on the basis that the subject a) isn't worth doing b) doesn't need revision or c) won't be set. hmmm. don't think I'll be getting any nice emails.

bigTillyMint · 24/01/2014 15:09

Aaahh addle, that sounds like DS's tactics! I have to say that she has put in a huge amount of effort (especially in science) - very proud and pleased for her that it has paid offSmile

Rudy, looks like something you could actually wear again! I don't have that boobage problemGrin

Herbs, I had this thing at one time called a Bakers cyst - behind the knee, but it seems to have gone nowConfused

Blackduck · 24/01/2014 15:46

Oh nice, Rudy.

Cleavage is a classic accessory, IMOGrin

I am in a waiting room in Stoke surrounded by coughing children. Had phone/email catchup with a client who is doing that maddening thing of taking AGES to get back to you and then demanding stuff instantly.

One of the coughing children keeps trying to make a break for freedom. Took it upon myself to restrain him as he is really rather small and should not plunge into the platform. Their mother looks hassled. Their dad less soAngry

QueenQueenie · 24/01/2014 16:35

Hi everyone.
Sorry to hear about your uncle Mrs S. Yet another who can offer no help with the bereaved cats - I fear my antisocial dog would terrorise them although ds1 would love to have cats.
Surprisingly nice tartan Rudy!
Crepeys, my gold skirt has arrived and is awesome! Ta again Addle as I'd never have ordered it unless I'd seen you rocking it last week. I'm not sure any other members of my family will approve... but I don't give a fig. Tis a thing of beauty for a paltry 7 (seven, VII) pounds.
Am slumped on sofa feeling very TGIF.
Good weekends to all.

bigTillyMint · 24/01/2014 16:50

Love the dress Rudy, but fear I am waaaayyyy too old and wobbly for a dress that short on meSad

Waiting room in Stoke? Not a place you would want to be!

Am now feeling very Envy of both the skirt and dress....

And the trellis is up! Gardner will be back to do the little bit of turfing, but I can now think about a few plants and garden décorSmile
Would a climbing rose be a possible idea for a back wall which will get a bit of sun first thing till after lunch?

lalsy · 24/01/2014 17:00

BTM, would you recommend your gardening lot and do they do heavy stuff like fencing and paving? If so, would you mind PMing me details (we have a tiny garden so will not be big job)?

bigTillyMint · 24/01/2014 17:07

Yes I would and yes, that's what they've done for me! I will PM you. We also have a tiny garden!

hattymattie · 24/01/2014 17:36

Sorry about uncle and cats Mrs S - you maybe about to end up with 5!

Herbs - I have a sore knee - especially when walking downhill. I've put it down to old age! I'm hoping it's not the onset of arthritis.

Just had a run in with DD1 about her study methods - I sort of feel she should be in her room studying for her bac so she can make her uni' offers. She says I don't understand how she works and am patronising! Her teachers say she is a really good student but there is a certain "manque de rigueur" so I feel I'm right. She has just stomped upstairs saying I'm unsupportive [sigh emoticon]

NUFC69 · 24/01/2014 18:19

Back from shopping with Dd - not sure if I will be getting the Woolover jumper as I paid a visit to a Gap outlet and bought a navy light weight crew neck and a cream Aran type one. Both look good and ta da cost me under £20 for the two. Nothing much in TKMax apart from lovely baby clothes which were too small for DGd. Sad
Good luck to all those with DC doing exams - been there, done that and still have the scars.
Oh and I forgot the best bit of the day, DS and wife are expecting a baby at the beginning of August!

Stropperella · 24/01/2014 20:47

BTM, a good climbing rose for that position would be Madame Alfred Carrière. Well done to your dd for dealing with her exams so well.

MrsSchadenfreude · 24/01/2014 21:34

The last time I wore a dress like that, Rudy, was when I went to a fancy dress party with a friend as the Fat Slags. Grin (I was Tray, she was San, and I think we dragged some poor hapless bloke along to be Baz.) Envious of your figure! Must do some more about weight loss. Bumped into Groucho Friend who keeps trying to drag me along to Fat Fighters. I really have no excuse, it's about 5 minutes walk from where I live.

Congrats on the baby, NUFC - you can hand it back when it yells/needs changing. How marvellous is that?

bigTillyMint · 24/01/2014 21:50

A baby! How lovely NUSmile

Stropps, have bookmarked that rose ready for the spring!

I am having a lovely evening. On. My. Own. Wine

CointreauVersial · 24/01/2014 22:11

Arf at Fat Slags.Grin

Ruby, I do like that dress, especially the price. Does it cling to the midriff at all?

beachyhead · 24/01/2014 22:35

Love those dresses Rudy... I couldn't wear them due to paunch, but I can see they would be super handy!

Very exciting to have a new baby to look forward to NU.....

Have a lovely weekend all. I shall mostly be driving through floods and cleaning mud off everything.

I'm sorry to hear about your uncle, Mrs S and I'm sorry but cats would fit too closely into the chicken/cat/dog food chain. I hope you find them a good new home though. Our adopted rooster is doing well, still relishing the free food, bed and wives on tap!

Ah, but you have a great figure, Ruby.

cremolafoam · 24/01/2014 23:19

Evening all. < waves at NUFC> welcome and do stay!! A lovely grandchild- how gorgeous. One of my work colleagues had a little boy yesterday and I have been cooing over the baby picture all day. He's so perfect .Shock < sniff/ wibble/ sigh>

Mrs S so sorry to hear about your uncle. And sorry to be so late to say it. Hope the pussers find a good fur loving home.
Heartened , in a way to hear of your spousal meltdown Stropps. Again I thought it was only me who had the bad machine husband. As an example we had no buildings and contents insurance for three(3 III) years, because he promised me he'd sorted it. He also has no clue whatsoever how to recycle anything.
I found a bunch of wine corks in the recycle bin last week. WTAF? How long has he been trying to recycle those I wonderWink?

Nice threads Rudy. I got a terrific pink jumper for £4 today- tis this Springs' colour apparently, and a pair of Hollister jeans for £4 - with a £65 label on them for dd.( cancer Research) Bonus points for not having to go into an actual Hollister Emporium surelyGrin

In other news I had a fag with Simon Cowell by the work bins. Living the dream crepeys.!

CointreauVersial · 25/01/2014 00:03

Oh, the glamorous life you lead, Crem.

(Really?? Simon Cowell skulking by the bins with a sneaky fag?? Grin Grin )
