Once my newly re-pierced ears have settled down, I am looking forward to wearing statement earrings. I shall go for huge big dustbin lids. Grin

bigTillyMint · 22/01/2014 18:37

MI, those boots look like they'd be fine as the lacing could just be looser IYSWIM. And a bargain price!

I did have a peek at that thread and then ran off as I'm not 50 yetGrin

cremolafoam · 22/01/2014 18:39

Good for you Stropps .

That thread just descended into nonsense. I want to wear golden skirts with biker boots and a statement necklace thankyou very much. Mostly I just wear my pyjamasBlush and wellies though.Wink

Stropperella · 22/01/2014 18:44

I haven't dared look at that thread. Crem, everything I wear generally goes with wellies. Or even if it doesn't, I'm still wearing my purple wellies anyway. Grin

DD1 is being spectacularly foul about being 'forced' to cook dinner, which involves pasta, ready-made cheese sauce and salad. She's missed the window of opportunity for putting in the cauliflower. Apparently most of this is All My Fault, obviously.

She's hungry but so am I. I do wish she'd hurry up and start her sodding periods so at least I had some kind of timetable.

The woolovers crepey jumper is on offer -£25 :)

hattymattie · 22/01/2014 19:14

ooh - statement necklaces - I have one or two of those - for some reason I've forgotten about them this winter, must go and rummage.

Meanwhile, off to look at bun fight on over fifties thread. It was perfectly genteel when I looked last nightSmile

hattymattie · 22/01/2014 19:16

By the way MI - DD'S and I can be perfectly foul at certain times of the month. I think we're all in synchHmm

bigTillyMint · 22/01/2014 19:16

MI. sadly the timetable is subject to change when they start. IMHE.

BD, don't do this to me!

lalsy · 22/01/2014 19:20

We sync in my house too. I think periods are a red herring, as it were, just being a teenage girl is enough....off to woolovers sale

motherinferior · 22/01/2014 19:29

I really don't know what to do with her this evening - rude, pulling faces, snarling, the lot. Angry

BD, get thee behind me. I did wonder about doing a joint Woolovers order with Lalsy as I think it's £25 if you get two...

OP posts:
motherinferior · 22/01/2014 19:30

...oh dear lord it's even cheaper if you get two!

OP posts:
Stropperella · 22/01/2014 19:35

MI, do you not pull faces back? I do. I find it both efficacious (I totally WIN) and stress-relieving.

motherinferior · 22/01/2014 19:44

No, I freeze and go v cold and withdrawn. Refuse to engage.

OP posts:
bigTillyMint · 22/01/2014 19:46

MI, welcome to the MOTG's club!

bigTillyMint · 22/01/2014 19:47

AIBU to be really looking forward to Friday night?
DH and DS are off to a footy match miles away and DD is off to a gathering/party and then sleepover at friendsGrin

motherinferior · 22/01/2014 19:48

Only another 11 years to go...

OP posts:
motherinferior · 22/01/2014 20:00

I am going away to stay with friends for the weekend.

Weirdly enough my ex is also staying there (long-term, is back from Abroad and looking for another museum job). I have absolutely no wish to get back with him but do want to look my best so he realises what he ditched from his life.

(Told Dd1 I minded about the faces. She says oh she was trying to make a joke and can't get anything right...I give up.)

QueenQueenie · 22/01/2014 20:31

Don't be making the mistake of thinking teenage boys are any better... Ds1 (16 1/2) has just snarled and grumped his way through dinner. I think he managed to offend, annoy and upset each of us in turn by which time he'd finished his food and stomped off. Gah! He has his parents' evening at school tomorrow where we all go together. I confidently predict all his teachers will gush about what a complete delight he is and what a polte, charming young man etc. Gah! again. Would it be OK do you think to do this as I listen Hmm.

motherinferior · 22/01/2014 20:42

What's his brother like?
