I am young and I have short trendy dark hair and was considering having this done on one ear!

theWomantheycall - yes, of course I would say the same to anyone who showed me a piercing and asked me what I thought of it. Which is what the OP was asking. I don't know what is socially acceptable as I don't speak for all of society.

Just a question I've often wondered about. Y'know there are lots of acupuncture points on ears that influence all sorts of different parts of the body? I know nothing about acupuncture. Would/could piercings, like the OP's piercing, have any health after effects?

I've had this. But only 2 because the piercers told me it was a photoshopped photo. There isn't actuslly space for three. They've had lots of people asking for it because of that photo !
Anyway I've had lots of compliments. Though people are surprised too that I've had it as I'm not your typical piercee! Whatever that means.
It did hurt but not as much as waxing. And it is a pain. Soaking twice a day and 5 month healing process. It looks fine now after about 8 weeks. But it still hurts to sleep on sometimes. I really like mine and I'm pleased I did it. If I hadn't had two at the same time I'm not sure id have gone back for the other one!
Also snd this is sort of irrelevant but interesting - it's something that has come into fashion in some circles-there was an article about it in the Times style magazine
Go to the very best piercer you can. Are you in London ?

spanishring I had one of my other cartilage piercings done about a year ago and they must've turned away 4/5 girls asking to have that exact look straight away while I was waiting because they wanted all three piercings done with those exact studs right away and wouldn't accept that they would only put a titanium bar or ring in and that they wouldn't do three piercings the same day. I've got a thing about even numbers so have all mine in twos
