What's best for chapped lips?

Chapstick isn't healing my chapped lips - not did it prevent them! What's best please? I've found Blistex good in the past but maybe there's something better out there?

Thanks

Eight Hour Cream...

I am about to sneak in to the sleeping 3 year old with my index finger coated in the stuff and smother her chapped, picked lips. If I get away with it they will be virtually healed by morning.

I've converted from Vaseline to Carmex and it's the best I've found. They do a really nice tinted gloss one which is brill for maintaining, but if your lips are already dry or sore get the little yellow pot, I put it on before bed and by morning they are restored. Tis like magic!

SauceForTheGander · 18/12/2013 23:09

Blisteeze for me.

Kahlua4me · 18/12/2013 23:09

Try putting Vaseline on overnight. I found that works well for all my family.

WhereMyMilk · 18/12/2013 23:10

Carmex every time!

FTRsGotAShinyNewNN · 18/12/2013 23:11

Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream stick, definitely

MmeCinqAnneauxDor · 18/12/2013 23:13

I always lurk on these threads in the hope of finding somethign really great, but am always disappointed. I have really dry lips - so dry that I can never wear lipstick.

Blistex is good. Flexitol lipbalm slightly better, imo.

Lanolin is not bad but a bit bulky to carry around.

Vaseline does nothing for me.

Honey based ones are ok - Burts Bees have a nice tinted lipbalm.

Can you tell I have tried them all?

superzero · 18/12/2013 23:13

Another vote for 8 hour cream

FracturedViewOfLife · 18/12/2013 23:15

I love NUXE BAUME LEVRES REVE DE MIEL (sorry for caps, copy pasted it)

I keep vanilla Carmex in my bag too.

skyeskyeskye · 18/12/2013 23:17

Vaseline overnight, or Blisteze during day if really sore.

Crazycake · 18/12/2013 23:18

Carmex by far! I have a squeezy tube for prevention but if they're really dry the little yellow pot does the trick every time and I always have very dry lips. IMO Vaseline is rubbish, it's ok whilst you use it but my lips are always dryer afterward than they were in the first place.

Mummybookworm · 18/12/2013 23:20

Carmex or 8 hr cream

ChuckitintheBucket · 18/12/2013 23:21

Lypsyl, the original and best, although I cant seem to buy it in the shops these days, have to buy it online.

chartreuse · 18/12/2013 23:23

La Roche Posay Ceralip is really good

La Roche Posay Ceralip is really good

LRDtheFeministDragon · 18/12/2013 23:28

Might not work for you, but olive oil is surprisingly good. Just try not to lick it off! That's the main killer with anything.

GW297 · 18/12/2013 23:48

The best one I've found is an aloe Vera one but I also rate blistex.

LadyFlumpalot · 18/12/2013 23:50

Lanisoh or whatever it's called, the stuff for nipples.

BarbaraWoodlouse · 18/12/2013 23:52

Blisteze/Blistex whichever one it is these days. Tried many others but nothing beats it IMO.

Inaminutenow · 18/12/2013 23:56

I like Norwegian Formula.

Catswiththumbs · 19/12/2013 00:19

Palmers cocoa butter lip balm

Blistex made mine sting, carmex dried them out more in the long run as does Vaseline.
Original Nivea is good for me too

Aquelven · 19/12/2013 04:02

Palmers, the E45 stick or best of all the tin of L'Occitane solid Shea butter.

Josiejumpismyname · 19/12/2013 05:33

Eve Lom's kiss mix! It works wonders for dry lips.

Sosyermaw · 19/12/2013 05:35

Carmex! Especially the cherry flavour! Grin

TobyLerone · 19/12/2013 05:44

Carmex. Or Lanolips Lemonaid.
