I couldn't see that anyone else had started a new thread, after Stropps carelessly finished the old one without starting a new one, so here you are. Xmas GrinXmas GrinXmas Grin

Stropps the new sofa sounds fab Grin
I am okay with being stranded but wanted to get home for mum and ds. We will make it up to them! Meanwhile

Happy Christmas (as I believe it's gone 12 there Grin)

Auriga · 25/12/2013 00:27

Sorry you're stuck BD, and DS disappointed. Hope you all manage to enjoy Christmas.

Toasted Stilton, mmm, going to try that with DH's home-made bread.

We're dry, mostly, and the Kyd Brook (finally discovered how to spell it) has gone down again (and up again and down again, but still...)

Lovely evening cooking, wrapping presents, hanging up stockings and singing. When DH and I sang along to Messiah, DD rushed downstairs to grab a score and join in.

Also re-pressurised the boiler. Not sure you needed to know that but, to me, it counts as another small victory over an inanimate object Grin

MrsSchadenfreude · 25/12/2013 07:48

Happy Crepemas!

Yes, Happy Crepemas to you allXmas Smile

Stropps, new sofa sounds like a hit! Hope you get more than a Stilton toastie though

Auriga, great that you're not flooded out, and BD enjoy (we had 6 days free in the Kuwait Sheraton during the ash cloud fiascoXmas Wink!)

Family entente cordiale in time for Midnight Mass last night. Got up to do the DC stockings - think it's time to sneak back.....

motherinferior · 25/12/2013 08:59

Happy Crepemass one and all!

I have vicious and exhausting IBS which is going to make the day - especially the bits when I'm cooking - a challenge. And tomorrow, which is when we eat - eek- goose with friends even more so...

beachyhead · 25/12/2013 09:26

Happy Christmas Crepeys...

Listening to Joe McEldry here, courtesy of the Christmas thread....

Have a lovely day!

herbaceous · 25/12/2013 09:32

Happy crepemas!

All presents opened, and as predicted the bike has been cast aside in favour of the £2.50 Rymans clipboard.

My culturally enriching carols from Kings CD has been exchanged for 'Im a Barbie Girl'. And there's still 10 hours to go.

Auriga · 25/12/2013 10:16

Happy Crepemass

MI Sad hope you feel better (and manage to avoid the goose somehow)

Blissful moment this morning when DD, DM and DH were all happily reading their new books (dressed in their new hats and gloves) and both DCat and DDog were peacefully playing with their presents on the rug Grin. Can I relax now?

Santa has brought me a DVD of Les Revenants . The artwork on the cover was enough to make me jump a foot in the air.

Sunny here. Off to walk DDog. Have fun everyone.

bigTillyMintspie · 25/12/2013 11:19

DD is watching her new Beyoncé DVD, DS is reading his Arsenal Annual, DH is doing the veg...

CremolaFirCone · 25/12/2013 12:10

Happy Crepemas one and all!
We have netflix ( family gift)
We have chocolate
We have crocembouche( a triumph- dh has been up since 6)
I am heading toward a wine induced coma.Wine
All is right with the world.
Xmas Grin

motherinferior · 25/12/2013 12:40

I have delegated cooking and retired to bed Grin which is quite jolly though sooner or later will have to eat something, which is a little challenging. No matter. Am sure red wine will soothe and comfortGrin

Blackduck · 25/12/2013 12:55

Hope everyone's Christmas presents were what they wanted Grin at the clipboard - and that dinner goes off without a hitch whether it's toasted cheese sarnies or Beachy's pickled number Grin MI hope you feel better!

Flight left gatwick this morning so we live in hope.....

Happy.....er.....Boxing Day. Hope you all had lovely days, and get better soon, MI.

If I may blow my own trumpet for a moment, my Christmas lunch for 14 was a roaring success; even Mr Masterchef BIL couldn't have done better. I feel fat as a pig.

No rows, happy children, and lovely prezzies; my haul included two handbags, a Clements Ribiero "coatigan" (fashion stylee blog-speak), Zara parka, vouchers, a scarf and some posh cutlery.

With exquisite timing, the TV DigiBox gave up the ghost, leaving us stuck on ITV1 all evening. At least we didn't miss Downton. Grin

The kitchen is tidy, and DH and I are about to retire to our blow-up bed.....night night all.

hattymattie · 26/12/2013 08:05

hello crepeys, I'm writing this on my new tablet. The virtual keyboard is going take a bit of getting used to. Dh has done much better than last year when we almost had a fall out. A very lazy Christmas had by all but quite pleased to be back in routine.

Hope you are feeling better MI,

bigTillyMintspie · 26/12/2013 08:51

Well done on the lunch and the prezzies, CV, less so the digibox!

And well done all who had no Christmas fall-outs - we were doing really well until there was a shouting match at 10pm about the TVGrin

Rudy, how lovely to have all your DC together. Hope you get to see more of your DS1Smile

I am making the most of the p&q - got a bit of a party here late afternoon, so will need to get organised...

Blackduck · 26/12/2013 09:04

Sitting at Gatwick waiting for a stand - power outage again here!! Plus two hour delay leaving Cancun which was actually handled quite well by everyone.... Off to mil in kent once we get off this plane!
Certainly a Christmas to remember.,,,Wink

bigTillyMintspie · 26/12/2013 09:18

BD, glad you got home (well, almost!) safelyXmas Smile

herbaceous · 26/12/2013 09:48

Nice present haul CV! I've been eyeing up Zara parkas. Even though I have two parkas already. But they don't have lovely furry linings and furry hoods!

Christmas Day with Strange Brother was in fact pretty painless. I'd organised some 'fun' stuff to do, so after lunch we raced our wind-up santas that came in the crackers, watched a bit of telly, then played a very long and involved game of Monopoly with the telly off. I nearly fell out with DP after he shafted me on a deal regarding Leicester Square and Oxford Street, but in the end Brother wiped with floor with the pair of us. As he always did when we were young.

Have unexpectedly empty Boxing Day - may go for a walk and let DS try out his new bike. Slight fail on the stabiliser front yesterday - we broke a spanner trying to get the nut off the axel to get them on. At this rate he'll be learning to ride au naturel...

bigTillyMintspie · 26/12/2013 09:55

Herbs, go for it on the bike front - has he been riding a smaller bike/one of those balance bikes (so favoured round here!)?

herbaceous · 26/12/2013 10:09

No to balance bike. He was given one for his second birthday, but showed no interest in it until recently, by which time he'd grown out of it.

I know some do say to just teach them without stabilisers to start with, but he's not the most confident of children and quite likely to quit in a strop if he can't do it immediately.

I've bought those sprung stablisers that encourage them to steer by leaning, so not quite as bad as traditional ones!

Have the most hideous cold. Head full of snot, sore throat, sore tongue. Just dandy. I suspect it's what DS has had for the past week, in which case I don't blame him for being a trifle grumpy.

bigTillyMintspie · 26/12/2013 10:33

Yes, maybe the stabilisers will be a better optionSmile

And following the Herbs dream theme, I dreamt that your DS was in a school library reading as I walked through and waved at me. I wasn't naked thoughGrin

Hope you feel better soon. And MI.

DH has just popped out for washing up liquid so he can clean his bikeHmm

motherinferior · 26/12/2013 10:35

Herbs, presumably his monocular vision affects this a bit too?

V pleased at all your festive successes - though I hope Rudy's friend surfaces soon! - and relieved for BD. I appear to have recovered a fair bit (it was clearly some sort of exhausting bug as well as the stomach stuff) to the point where goose and lots of food - plus presents Grin- is bearable, shall we say! More rellies, plus an overnight stop at my parents', from tomorrow. Must fit in the Toast sale, which starts tomorrow too...
