Do I dust off the uggs again (classic, long tan boots) or say so long and goodbye?

squoosh · 12/12/2013 16:25

There's a typo in the thread title, it should be 'Uggs...disgusting'.

Dillydollydaydream · 12/12/2013 16:25

Uggly...but warm

Trooperslane · 12/12/2013 16:26

I LOVE mine :)

squoosh · 12/12/2013 16:26

Oh sorry! You're talking about tan boots, they're absolutely fine, as you say a classic.

I see the word Uggs and I automatically think of the shuffly granny boots.

whereisshe · 12/12/2013 16:31

If you mean the sheepskin slippers, then I don't like them because they make my feet sweaty and every pair I've ever encountered absolutely reek. And they look silly as outdoor wear - not enough ankle support so people always slip around in them.

propertyNIGHTmareBEFOREXMAS · 12/12/2013 20:47

They are warm. That are warm. They are warm. I am happy to let my feet luxuriate.

southeastastra · 12/12/2013 20:52

i don't get the appeal but noticed in john lewis the other day a staff incentive for those who sold the most uggs. Grin

nancy75 · 12/12/2013 20:53

I know they are ugly but I just can't say goodbye - they are so warm and the don't hurt my feet.

tinselkitty · 12/12/2013 21:08

I love, love , love my uggs. I don't care what other people think. They're warm and snugly and I think they look good (although the tall classics don't suit me, I need half cal for short ones)

I bought new ones this year, chocolate with laces up the side and a buckle at the top. Love them!

IamInvisible · 12/12/2013 21:12

I love my Uggs. I love my Celtic sheepskins. I have warm feet. I do not care if other folk don't like them. I see plenty of shoes linked on here that would not find their way on to my feet!

Each to there own and all that!

cloudskitchen · 12/12/2013 21:21

I love my uggs. so warm and comfy :)

muddylettuce · 12/12/2013 21:49

I love the way they make my feet toasty warm. I do not love that I can't wear them in the rain. I haven't quite found a suitable alternative though so until I do I guess I shall be wearing them again this winter. There's life in the old uggs yet.

You need Sorel snow boots OP - waterproof AND warm...

Skinheadmermaid · 13/12/2013 01:20

I don't care if they're warm or comfy, my duvet is also comfortable but i don't walk around in it all day.
There has to be some standards! Hmm
I think they are absolutely hideous and look like the slippers my nan (infact everyone's nan) wore in the 90s.
How can people seriously wear them and expect to look nice?
They look like potato sacks, they match nothing, they bring nothing to any outfit!

I HATE uggs!

AcheyFanny · 13/12/2013 11:34

I hate them, they are called Ugg for a reason. Just wrong on so many levels.

missmartha · 13/12/2013 11:40

Love my Uggs and do not consider them a fashion statement, just warm foot wear.

I've never needed ankle support either and as for bringing stuff to an outfit, I often wear mismatched crap. My jeans and woolly jumper hardly mark me out as a fashionista.

Uggs are perfect for warm feet, though I wouldn't wear then on a hot date with thingy Gosling.

MsRyanGosling · 13/12/2013 12:06

Thingy Gosling ??!!

Ahem!! Hmm

Uggs...discuss.
ConfusedDotty · 13/12/2013 12:27

Bin them and get a pair of proper boots. Those Ugg type slipper boot things should never be allowed outside of the home, they make me cringe everytime I see them. People also insist on wearing them with see through leggings, why???

Dontletthemgetyoudown · 13/12/2013 12:37

i have uggs but they are not uggs in the traditional sense of the word. they are proper leather biker boots. they are warm as sheepskin soles in them, and waterproof as a leatherboot should be.

EmGee · 13/12/2013 20:58

Agree Dontletthem - I have bought Ugg Esplanades and they are the furthest thing from a traditional 'Ugg' that you can get. But I am very happy to say that they are, in my opinion anyway, not only stylish....BUT toasty warm/waterproof so my feet are très happy!

MedusaIsHavingaBadHairday · 13/12/2013 21:54

I wore my last pair out..and have bought more for Xmas. I have other , more sylish, more waterproof boots... but nothing beats their warmth and comfort (especially at the side of a rugby pitch watching my son play)

But I am not fashionable either. Just warm!

eurochick · 13/12/2013 22:08

I gave in and bought some a few weeks ago for the first time, after resisting for years. I am a convert. They are lovely. So warm.

ConfusedDotty · 14/12/2013 05:57

I will never ever be converted. There is a brand new pair in in wardrobe that my Mum bought for me 4 Christmases ago. They will remain there for one year more and then they will to to some poor unsuspecting charity. Luckily my Mum lives abroad and I only see her in the summertime so no awkward questions about why I have never worn them.

I did try them on l looked in the mirror and thought Hmm. Then DP came in the room and seen me with these huge kangaroo gonad like things on my feet and completely pissed himself laughing, so back in the box they went.

MabelBee · 14/12/2013 06:08

I have my eye on the Noira or maybe Kensington uggs for this winter. I think they look beautiful!

KosherBacon · 14/12/2013 06:44

I do not have and never have had a pair of uggs. Never even tried a pair on. They are hideous.
