I am middle-aged but have no desire to appear it necessarily Grin.
Dress code at work is smart/casual, not at all corporate.

For sure the first one, the second one is frumpy. HTH

polyhymnia · 04/12/2013 21:12

Sorry I think they're both frumpy. But then I'm not a Clark's fan, though know lots of people are.

PacificDogwood · 04/12/2013 21:16

Oh, thanks, guys Smile.

I need something I can stand/walk in most of the day, but still like something a bit funky so the wine patent is really floating my boat just now Smile

The first pair are much much MUCH nicer than the ugly other ones!!

PastaBeeandCheese · 04/12/2013 21:19

I much prefer the first.

Both frumpy but #1 are better if I really must choose.

PacificDogwood · 04/12/2013 21:24

Can I mark you down as a 0.5, Toby?

I have middle-aged feet so I have to make some allowances...

madwomanacrosstheroad · 04/12/2013 21:31

Dont like either. Have you looked at fly london? I have middlaged feet and they are comfy without frump.

Sure thing :o

Matsikula · 04/12/2013 21:37

First ones much nicer. 70s preppy look.

out2lunch · 04/12/2013 21:39

yy no 1 granny chic

no 2 I feel sick

PacificDogwood · 04/12/2013 21:39

babybarrister, do you mean nr2? Confused

I have a pair of black patent Fly London wedge shoes - they are fab and v v comfortable. I even get complimented on them and a visiting client asked me what they were and had them one when she next came Grin

See, I do have enviable taste

OP posts:
Ephiny · 04/12/2013 21:42

I don't love either of them, but definitely prefer the first.

dingdongduckyfuzz · 04/12/2013 21:43

I love fly shoes and boots, for some reason they work, where clarks don't, not sure why though Xmas Hmm fwiw I prefer the second pair

NorksAreMessy · 04/12/2013 21:45

Oh, I was going to say 'get some FLY shoes instead' but most of MumsNet have beaten me to it :)

nilbyname · 04/12/2013 21:46

Fly shoes Are hideous

Number one is preppy geek chix

Sexykitten2005 · 04/12/2013 21:48

Sorry hate them both with a passion. But also I hate anything with a clumpy or wedge heel as I think it makes my ankles look fat so you can ignore me if you like x

BunnyLebowski · 04/12/2013 21:49

I am Shock and Grin that people actually think the orthopaedic eyesores that are Fly shoes are stylish!!

BetterWithCheese · 04/12/2013 21:50

I have the second pair in black patent and they are much nicer than in the photo - I even get compliments on them Xmas Wink

PacificDogwood · 04/12/2013 21:50

Nono, all opinons welcome Smile

So, on balance Bachelor Nr1 is the preferred contender, yes?

You just made me look at Fly btw. Again. I hope you are all v happy

HyvaPaiva · 04/12/2013 21:51

Sorry OP, but I'm another one who really hates both pairs. I hate saying that but both are frumpy.

KeepYourEyesPeeled · 04/12/2013 21:51

I personally don't like either , but if I had to pick then no 1 are far better .
