Cheap maxi evening dress needed urgently!!

We go to a formal dinner at xmas time. This is usually the second Sat of December so i was hoping to diet, exercise and shop a bit before then. DH has just nonchalantly informed me it is the 30th Nov this year and now i am in a flap. I don't want to spend loads as i will only ever wear this dress once (we see the same people once a year so alway wear a different dress) as don't attend anything else formal and still have the last 3 years dresses in the wardrobe.

I can't get out to the shops so will need to order online. What do you think of this It has to be longer than calf length and have covered shoulders. Any suggestions under £50 welcome.

Definitely try ASOS they have loads of maxi evening dresses in that price range. There's a selection here.

Dont know what this stuff is like but it's definitely cheap! http://www.everything5pounds.com/pleated-flowers-design-strapless-dress-p-22705.html

Cheers - The ASOS and New Look ones are nice but they are all too revealing really, shoulders and back must be covered Confused which makes it really hard as if legs are covered usually the top half is more skimpy. I have quite broad shoulders so nothing high or slash necked suits me and thick shoulder straps look shit. I think i need a deep v to draw the eye down to my quite small waist. Nothing sequined/sparkly either as i am very tall as well as broad so can look like a drag queen.
