Are you a winter colouring? If so come and join us for chat about clothes/make up following on from here.

Hey gruffalo I'm not sure that I've 'met' you yet (I took a short break from mn) but I'm also blonde blue eyed and a sprinter winter.

I ordered this cardi hoping it may be lagoon/Chinese blue but it's just a touch too yellow and more of an autumnal colour sadly. Weirdly the green on is described as emerald but it's definitely not like our swatch.

I also found a lovely white broderie anglaise top in sainsburys this week which will be fab for the summer.

Thanks kosher! Grin
Had a bit of a mad day trawling charity shops. I may have committed the mortal mistake of buying things as they were my colour and not necessarily my style (not done a style day yet so never quite sure what suits me...that sounds a bit pathetic I'm afraid!)...
Bought a charcoal grey jaeger pencil skirt, forest green wool jumper, a coat which is I think an emerald but it might be a little bit 'soft'... Some black wide leg trousers and a slightly weird vintage jaeger jacket with winter colours though again they may be a bit soft...I only actually spent about 35£ though so could have been worse! I so love a good rummage in charity shops, you never know what you may find... Passed up a Marc Jacobs jacket and a bruce oldfield dress! Wink
Bought two boots 17 lippies too, Hollywood and bolshie... One red and one pink but kind of sheer mirror shine I think they are called...Anyone tried any of those?
Anyone who is a classic, what does it mean? I think I look nice in a shirt... Is there a type for that?!

Fooogle · 20/02/2014 21:32

Oo, hello queenc. Not sure we have met either Wink. I found a raspberry top and a Chinese? blue blouse in the sale and then 25% off which made them a good bargain... Can you tell I like a bargain?!

KosherBacon · 20/02/2014 21:36

Foogle- which charity shops do you go to?!? I only ever find junk here and never bother with them.

FaceDirectionOfTravel · 20/02/2014 21:46

Have found some great stuff lately in charity shops but not like Google. Envy.

FaceDirectionOfTravel · 20/02/2014 22:42

Um, Fooogle.

givemeaminute · 21/02/2014 15:58

Hello geneticsbunny ! I'm a burnished winter as well, and a recently diagnosed natural classic on the style front.

I'm liking the Breton tops upthread. I think I could use one of those now and when the weather warms up!

passata · 21/02/2014 16:17

When do the cotton day dresses come into stores? I really fancy a dress for Spring/Summer

Fooogle · 21/02/2014 20:22

Grin at google...I do a lot of that!
I rummage around wherever but I spend WAY too much time doing it...I could spend all day. This was Bristol but I normally manage to scavenge something. Today two cashmere cardi s but think I am going to try dying one which may prove a bad idea! Wink
Not sure about dresses passata but I fancy one too... Keep buying things online though and totally gambling on the colour front...expect I ll end up doing the same on dresses!
Whistles seemed to have some good winter stuff for us the other day though I flinch at the prices...

FaceDirectionOfTravel · 21/02/2014 20:25

I really liked some of the Boden summer dresses this year. As a dramatic gamine (!) I need clothes that don't move muchc, so they had some good shapes for me. Still thinking tho, takes me aaaaaages to commit if it costs over £20. Grin

TheGruffalo2 · 21/02/2014 20:37

Does this look icy enough?

MissScatterbrain · 21/02/2014 22:09

Yes it looks like ice blue Smile

QueenCadbury · 21/02/2014 23:28

TheGruffalo2 · 22/02/2014 08:36

QueenCadbury · 22/02/2014 15:50

fooogle next time take me with you. I rately find anything good in charity shops. Although if we're the same size we'd be fighting over the clothes Grin

passata · 22/02/2014 17:22

Oh, and a blue/white Breton from Joules - good quality.

Meganhunt · 22/02/2014 21:18

Hi, can I join? I am a sultry winter as of last week. Last year I was diagnosed a dark autumn but requested a rerate at my style day and discovered I'm actually a winter which I couldn't be happier about! Just off to buy some white tops and shirt - have put away all the awful cream/peach!

MissScatterbrain · 23/02/2014 09:42

passata - great finds, the breton really looks like good value.

Megan - welcome Smile. I am another sultry winter.

Came across this link and thought I would share...

KosherBacon · 23/02/2014 21:07

Winters! What are your favourite scarves? I need to jazz up my accessories and can't find any I like. The bocksongaard (sp?) ones that mumsnet loves don't really come in winter tones, at least the cheaply asos ones I've seen. I am a deep/ sultry winter, so nothing too bright around my face. Looking up to £20/25 a scarf max.

Fooogle · 23/02/2014 22:52

kosher...good question! Hope someone gives us ideas! I buy vintage silk ones quite often if you like that look... I've been eyeing up the cheapy pashmina type ones on eBay but don't really feel very right in them. What'd be your ideal colour/s?

MissScatterbrain · 24/02/2014 07:24

I get mine from various places - GAP, ebay, H&M, Primark, TK MAxx and also quite a few from places we have visited on holiday abroad. Basically if I see one I like, I buy it.

AmberNectarine · 24/02/2014 07:32

Hi all - in light of that other thread I'm determined to post here more regularly as part of the winter sisterhood!

Face I'm a Winter Dramatic Gamine too!

Scarf wise, I love my McQueen skull scarves (pricey but I got them in the sales), and My Pashmina is great for a huge range of colours. I also find them at TK Maxx, in line with my CP I go for quirky prints.
