face please tell me where the show all messages button is. I have all the messages showing (450 on one page) when I put Clinique in the serach box at the top of the page I'm searching the whole of mumsnet Blush

I bought chubby stick in 'pudgy peony' today - it's a loud pink but with a balm texture :)

Chanell 55 Romance made me look sick. It's too light for me.

sultrywinter · 30/12/2013 17:46

I found nothing else to spend my money on today. Saw a lovely dress in fat face but it was really muted. I would have bought it in a heartbeat before getting my colours done but today I resisted.

FaceDirectionOfTravel · 30/12/2013 17:48

If all messages are already showing then hit CTRL+F to do the find all - this is part of the browser's functionality rather than, MN then, iyswim. So then the browser will just look for all instances of the word on whatever page you are browsing.

Does that make sense?

AsBrightAsAJewel · 30/12/2013 17:48

Thanks, Queen, thread found now. I'm always so confused by colours on websites, so I'll stick to black and grey which I (hopefully) can't get too wrong this time. Will order tonight and let you all know what it's like when it arrives.

sultrywinter · 30/12/2013 17:53

face you're a genius - thanks SO much! I just learned a very neat little trick thanks to you! Flowers x

FaceDirectionOfTravel · 30/12/2013 18:15

sultry

Queen and other ice winters, I'm interested in seeing if I can start recognising pale wintery colours as I might need them for accents, underneath other things, etc. So can you comment on [http://www.esprit.co.uk/women/trends-specials/flash-colours/stretchy-fine-knit-cardigan-123EE1I002_636 this pale pink cardigan]]?

this lavender one I think is a bit dusty

this blue top looks icy to me

this looks like an icy aqua to me

FaceDirectionOfTravel · 30/12/2013 18:15

Sorry, link fail

this pale pink cardigan

sultrywinter · 30/12/2013 18:23

They all look a bit pastel to me face my ice colours are pretty much silver with a barest glimpse of the colour in.

The links you have are quite defined colours. Or is it my ageing eyesight?

givemeaminute · 31/12/2013 14:41

If anyone is looking for a warm, colourful jumper, I got this for Christmas. In the rich rose / blueberry colour, it's a perfect match for the raspberry in the HoC winter swatches. They do other styles in the same colour.

FaceDirectionOfTravel · 31/12/2013 15:33

That looks lovely but not my shape sadly.

Thanks for the advice about ice colours - as I said I'm struggling!

FaceDirectionOfTravel · 31/12/2013 15:36

Oooh, ooh! The Woolovers site has a facility to find other jumpers in that colour! And it turns out they do loads of different shape jumpers in that lovely rose colour (which is one of my two star colours) so yay! And thank you! Flowers

sultrywinter · 31/12/2013 17:06

Bought some cobalt blue things at CC today and some bright pink/black fine knits from Planet. I'm not too fussed if they're not exact matches to my swatch, it's enough that I understand I need to go brighter.

I used my HoC CC card and got an extra 10% off. My navy trousers went from 99.90 to £35.91 RESULT!

AsBrightAsAJewel · 31/12/2013 17:11

HoC CC card sultrywinter????

sultrywinter · 31/12/2013 17:18

Yes, I got given a card at my colour consult which entitles me to 15% off generally at CC/Austin Reed/Viyella and even 10% in the sales.

I didn't know I could use it in the sales - I just asked and she said yes! Grin

Not sure if it can be at the concession places like JL. This was a CC shop.

AsBrightAsAJewel · 31/12/2013 17:28

Envy I'm at the age to like CC!

AsBrightAsAJewel · 31/12/2013 17:29

Whoops, that sounded rude; didn't imply you were too sultry. It is just that their style suits my life stage and work wardrobe.

sultrywinter · 31/12/2013 17:32

CC stuff suits my neat/tailored style. I like it for non-patterned things.

sultrywinter · 31/12/2013 17:33

No worries - I'm pushing 50 myself! Wine

AsBrightAsAJewel · 31/12/2013 17:34

I have a few years on you sultry, but I agree it suits my neat tailored style for the office. I don't like much pattern so their clothes are ideal.

NowhereNow · 31/12/2013 22:24

Another recently diagnosed jewel winter. My HOC consultant said Winters aren't that common but there seem to be loads of Winters here!

I am joining in with a quick Woolovers question. I'm thinking of getting a few jumpers, probably navy and charcoal and possibly a rich rose as I saw upthread that it's a good match for one of the swatches. Do you think either of these are Winter colours?
Marine Green
Cerise

ElizabethBathory · 01/01/2014 17:07

Hi nowhere the marine green doesn't look bright or deep enough to be a winter green, to me. It looks soft and a bit blue-green rather than pine or emerald. The cerise looks a possibility though.

It's funny your consulatant said winters are quite rare, we seem to be very well represented on MN! But most people I know in real life are autumns.

ElizabethBathory · 01/01/2014 17:08

Oh - happy new year winters Grin

KosherBacon · 01/01/2014 19:05

Can I ask if anybody has seen this in the indigo floral? Does it look like a winter colour?

I'm ordering a couple of the Emma tops at £10.50 each for work and am debating ordering the jumper too.

givemeaminute · 01/01/2014 19:15

Glad you've found something that suits, face ! I love that colour. Smile

NowhereNow · 01/01/2014 21:57

Thanks Elizabeth! I'll avoid the marine green then.

Since my session I've bought black and indigo jeans to replace my old and faded ones, but that's it. I already had a few tops and cardigans in the right colours, but I think a lot of my navy is too summery (that's what the consultant said about the top I wore to the appointment).

I'm hoping to do the style day soonish, so don't want to buy too much straight away.
