Mad for Oxford street or mad for dermal fillers. ???

Well done MI...it's always lovely when someone takes the time to compliment. It's something we should all do more of.

bigTillyMintspie · 02/12/2013 13:38

Well, I was thinking of Oxford St, but you don't need dermal fillers - you look fabSmile

beachyhead · 02/12/2013 14:26

That's very kind. I'm quite looking forward to both Oxford Street and skin upgrade!

What was the La Roche Posay product that Mrs S and I think CV were raving about?

MrsSchadenfreude · 02/12/2013 19:41

Was it the BB cream, Beachy?

We have everything La Roche Posay in this house from shower gel to BB cream via various moisturisers. I use the Lipikar body moisturiser on my face.

Speaking of in your pants, I am trying out one of those new fangled sanitary towels - the ones that stick, not the ones with loops and a belt Grin. No, I jest, the ones in the silver box that move with you. I am quite impressed - I am using belt and braces style with a jumbo tampon. It is not sweaty like the regular Always and neither does it appear to be scented.

I am on version 18 (at least) of my paper but am beyond caring and have lost the will to live.

MrsSchadenfreude · 02/12/2013 20:08

Oh yes, question for you all. Do you get the children's grandparents something from the children? I was thinking what to get my mother from my two this year, and was thinking back to DD1's first Christmas when my mother "didn't get a present from the baby" and "everyone asked her what she got and she was so embarrassed to have to say she didn't get anything." DD1 was 3 months old. This is not normal, right?

No, MrsS, it is Not Normal.

bigTillyMintspie · 02/12/2013 20:55

No, not normal. But then you know thatWink

We give a family present to DM who is very generous to us as a family. The IL's and DH and I agreed to stop swapping gift vouchers a few years ago!

motherinferior · 02/12/2013 21:00

I have ordered two books as Christmas presents Shock and am waiting to check what my SIL wants before doing my Fragrant Order.

lalsy · 02/12/2013 21:53

I have done a deal with dh that we buy two dvd box sets and pretend to give them to each other on Christmas morning Smile.

Sanitary towels in a silver box...erm, I am intrigued but a bit scared of googling.

MrsSchadenfreude · 02/12/2013 21:58

these fairy hammocks Lalsy. I am utterly flooding today, but period pain not too bad and no vomiting (yet).

lalsy · 02/12/2013 23:36

Thank you! I will try them. You poor thing, sounds rotten.

CointreauVersial · 03/12/2013 00:08

Grin at "loops and a belt". Standard issue at boarding school, those were. Needless to say, we all bought our own Lilets in preference.

Wasn't me raving about La Roche Posay, Beachy. I'm a bit of a luddite when it comes to skincare (splash with water and hope for the best). Actually, I tell a lie, I do use a bit of Olay, mainly because DH works for the company so is a cheap source.

I was a good girl, and didn't buy anything from Gap despite the lure of a massive discount; my only purchase today was an airbed from Amazon, as I think we will be surrendering our bedroom over Christmas to DDad and DSM.

bigTillyMintspie · 03/12/2013 07:28

Loops and a belt???? Where did you buy them? I don't remember ever seeing any like that and I started in 1978!

Blackduck · 03/12/2013 08:46

MrsS - so not normal.......

But then my sil was most upset that on ds's first Christmas I hadn't dressed him in the novelty snowman outfit she had purchased. (I had wondered why she had given me the bloody present half way through December) Hmm

Families - bonkers :)

Likewise Ruby - I always Wonder slightly at my mother as she must have known about stick-ons surely - I think I was more 1976.

We just do family présents for inlaws and that's only if we see them. They really couldn't care less.

motherinferior · 03/12/2013 10:20

I wore stickons but obviously those were only marginally better: those huge, repulsive white wodges.

I reckon this is why DD1's mates don't wear tampons, you know, the technology has got so much better.

wilbur · 03/12/2013 12:54

I have started some Xmas shopping, but it's always a bit panic stricken as I usually forget someone (and yes, I do have a List). Dh is getting a mattock (which he will love for its manliness Grin), the new Donna Tartt, Morrisey biog and a new long sleeve t-shirt as his current crop look like something a tramp would refuse to wear. And I do him a stocking because I luuurve stockings. We will probably also buy ourselves a combined Xmas present in the sales, which will be something like an iPod dock for the living room, or one of those bluetooth speakers which we can take outside in the summer.

We have ds1's 13th b'day in January, not really sure what to do or buy for that. I think I am going to suggest an outing to Go Ape in the spring with a couple of mates.

bigTillyMintspie · 03/12/2013 13:09

Had to google what a mattock is!

KosherBacon · 03/12/2013 13:14

Gosh- a mattock. Very manly.

bigTillyMintspie · 03/12/2013 13:23

In other, non-S&B news, I was able to help DD with her chemistry homework last night whilst DH looked at it with a furrowed brow - proudSmile
She said she might take it at A'levelShock I think it is because she has such a lovely, inspiring teacher - I took it at A'level, hated it and should have changed back to English immediately, and ended up with an O'level pass. I don't want her to do the same. Eeeek! Still, 18mths to go!

motherinferior · 03/12/2013 13:39

I was scared to google Mattock. I thought it might be some sort of...underwear. A Manly Hammock for Manly Underparts.

KB, is that you? Grin

V impressed with the chemistry. I have been known to help with Poems and Reading but that's about all.

bigTillyMintspie · 03/12/2013 13:53

MI, manly hammockGrin

lalsy · 03/12/2013 13:53

I too googled mattocks - very manly.

Any ideas for Christmas presents for 14 yo ds? He likes football and Minecraft/Fifa (is getting the necessary bits X box wise), and I am stumped about anything that doesn't fall into those categories. (We make him play board games but have a backlog of them). And I don't think he wants my 2013 staple Christmas present, a Uniqlo Heattech top. Vests for All!
