I seem, despite my best intentions, to be getting married next year, and I need a dress.

I want something very much like this (particularly the sleeves)- I am flexible on colour, but have a budget of £500.

Has anyone seen anything similar?

I was hoping to get something made, but it looks like it might be too costly an option- so any recommendations for a good but cheap London based dressmaker also gratefully received Smile

The DVF linked earlier is just so fab. Look at the video, the way it moves is lovely.

Are any of these any good? They all have deep cuff sleeves.

Thanks babybarrister, will have a look. I like those Tickled, but fancy some thing a bit more weddingy. I think.

Just on thr off chance, original 70s emerald chiffon gown, 16. Most plain but maybe worth some adaptation?

KatyMac · 16/11/2013 20:13

Oh you could jewel that so easily

KatyMac · 16/11/2013 20:14

Look on my profile for an idea

The 70s one is ok, but would need some alterations... Good find though, thanks Smile

Sorry KatyMac, jewelled is definitely not the look I'm after.

babybarrister, I do quite like those, but the sleeves aren't right and for that price I'd want fucking perfect Grin really appreciate you looking though Smile

Ah well - they do pearls like those crystals too

TBH they aren't my style either but then I had a Laura Ashley Wedding Dress made of brushed cotton (like a nightie)

tethersend · 16/11/2013 21:12

Brushed cotton? THAT I like.

Christ, that last one is damn near perfect- apart from the sleeves. And the fact that I'd struggle to get one leg in it Grin

Does it have to be a dress?

It does, Mortified.

Thanks anyway.
