Beauty boxes, which to try?

SlaveToRuthMiskinPhonics · 25/10/2013 23:54

I'd love to treat myself and try a beauty box but I've never had one before and don't know if any would be more suited to me than others.

I am pretty high-street for all my beauty and skincare. I mostly use No7, Max Factor, Rimmel, Nails Inc, Body Shop with the odd bit of Clarins, Clinique or Elizabeth Arden thrown in when I am given gift sets.

Any suggestions on which I should try?

Without a doubt, Birchbox. Consistently good, high quality products, and having had pretty much every beauty box subscription going, that is the only one I will be continuing with.

MorrisZapp · 26/10/2013 10:21

I just tried to sign up for Birchbox with no luck. They only take visa, solo, MasterCard and discover.

I have a visa debit card.

MyNameIsWinkly · 26/10/2013 10:39

Look Magazine has a code for birchbox at the moment, first box for a fiver. I think they tweeted the code today or yesterday.

porkypine · 26/10/2013 11:13

Visa debit is fine - you just tick that it's a visa don't you?!

MorrisZapp · 26/10/2013 11:26

I did tick visa, payment rejected??

LordPalmerston · 26/10/2013 11:39

why not just buy the products you want?

Stillcomingtoterms · 26/10/2013 15:34

I was getting birchbox but found it had too many skin or shower gel products. There's only so many moisturisers you need.
I find glossybox better for the mix of make up or skin/hair products

JennySense · 26/10/2013 15:50

I have the you beauty discovery box which although is only 2 products you get to choose and it's been great value at £6.95

www.youbeautydiscovery.co.uk/

I also buy boxes from www.latestinbeauty.co.uk/

alemci · 26/10/2013 16:45

yes you beauty box ok but small sizes. not sure if is worth it.

porkypine · 26/10/2013 19:23

MorrisZapp that's odd - sure it's not your card? It says on the website 'debit or credit'.

I like that the samples are small. There's always something full size in there, but it gives you a the opportunity to try stuff before you buy the full size product, and also the opportunity to try stuff you wouldn't normally go for.

I'll try Birchbox then, I'll try to find that code because I bought Look yesterday, will go have a flip through. Thanks all, sorry I didn't come back sooner, busy day!

I'm hoping this thread isn't quite dead yet...

Can any of you tell if Birchbox or others all fit through the letter box?? I really don't want to have to be going to the post office every month to pick it up.

PainInTheBum · 01/11/2013 16:16

None of them fit through the letter box unfortunately.

Latest in beauty have a Glamour Magazine beauty box you can order at the mo, it has HD Brows and Benefit they're real so is good for the price:

www.latestinbeauty.com/glamour/

When I get a box now I order one that I can see the contents first or get the occasional box from Birchbox when they send me a good offer. GlossyBox used to be amazing and I got that from the beginning, but when they started sending out different boxes I always got a crap one so I gave up.
