Why are Brits so badly dressed?? And what is about bra straps & strappy tops - eeugh!

Have been in London this morning on trains and people-watching, and have seen virtually NO women I would describe as well-dressed. I don't mean formally smart - just stylish... it's a plethora of unco-ordinated vests & skirts, sloppy old sandals and mishapen dresses.

And what is the thing about those strappy tops with whopping great white bra straps underneath and on show? Is there any decent way to wear one if you're bigger than a 32A ???

We're such slobs...

And OMG - there are SO MANY FAT PEOPLE TOO in highly unsuitable clothing..

Oh, and the other thing I saw this morning several times - 'racer back' style vest tops with a normal bra underneath? What on earth is THAT meant to look like at the back???

Really, REALLY hacks me off when people, in front of others who have talked about being 18-20, says well I'm big, I'm a size 12! But only when pre-menstrual.

Although I do agree with other things, especially about getting clothes that fit.

Yeah,size 12, but I'm only 4 ft 8 in !!!!!

Size is relative really. Me and MIL used to both be a 20, but I'm 5'11 and she's about 5'2, so it wasn't the same at all. Now she's down to a 14/16 I'd say we were similarly overweight. Not similar shapes though, I'm pear shaped, she's apple shaped.

God I always have bra straps on show with my strappy vests. But always very nice colourful bras in pink or pale blue etc.

Am I mutton?

Oh and cod I do wear a vest underneath, I don't go out in a dress slashed to the navel. The green one looks nice too, but too short (above the knee) the black one sits on teh knee so is more flattering with heels and flats IYKWIM
