Landsend sizing - does it come up big or small?

I'm not sure if I'm a ten or twelve as I have a bit of a spare tyre.

It comes up big even allowing for converting US to UK. I am a fairly standard (Next, George etc) UK 12 and wear Lands end UK10 cords.

I think it comes up fairly big too, especially for trousers. Truer for bust size.

Shit! I have just ordered a size 12 coat with them. I hope it is not too big.

They swap it if it's the wrong size.

Actually, I have just noticed that the coat I ordered is now 20% cheaper so I now have mixed feelings but I am nearly hoping that the 12 is too big so that I can order the 10 and get the coat more cheaply...

Well... I have done it the coward's way. I have reordered two coats: one size 10 and one size 12.

Hopefully, one of the sizes will fit me, and I will have saved money that way.

Agree that sizing is massive but Lands End customer services are legendary, they are only too happy to help. And did you know there is no time limit on returns?!

Returns are fixed price so I just order everything in both sizes. Am now :( that I have a size 16 blouse if it's vanity sizing, I'm a 14/16 in M & S. (beached whale emoticon)

Can I add the best school run coat for me has been a squall jacket - bum length one, the hood actually stays up in stormy weather! And it's cosy and purple :)

has anyone ordered men's clothes from them? Any good? I see they do longer length tops which would be good for DH.

House mum-I'm a different size every shop I go into, who cares if it fits and is flattering? LE is very good quality and washes and lasts really well.

Coat no.1 in size 12 has arrived. It is a touch big although I have the shoulders of an olympic swimmer so I probably could have carried it off.

The sleeves are too short though and I think it looks a bit like a dressing gown.

So size 12 is definitely going back. It is unlikely that size 10 will fit me better as the sleeves are likely to be even shorter.

Looks like I will keep on looking for a winter coat for a while longer.

Quite a few people stated that the sizing is massive but it seems that the labelling is based on US sizes (at least, that is the case for my coat) so maybe that is why a few people got caught out...?
