Girls boots - pls recommend some

My dd is 5 and wears a 10 (about size 30). She absolutely trashes her footwear, last year beautiful Ricosta purple suede boots looked awful after a month. But patent might not be as breathable for her? Clarks just don't last the distance IMO so not buying from there again. She needs black for school & depending on cost of those, some purple or grey ones too. Last year I trawled Amazon & found loads as I used their 20% off deal. Can't find anything so far anywhere so please make some suggestions!

John Lewis do Timberland ones for girls that are really nice. Not the work boot type ones that you automatically think.

Kickers tall boots. I get the patent and so the odd nail polish touch up when needed.

Kickers seem great, have never bought any but they have a good reputation. Trying to see if I can find shorter zip or Velcro ones. She can't do laces.

I have ordered these for my 5 year old. Great reviews, leather and neutral colour. I'm hoping they are quite hard wearing as she is hard on her shoes.
The Isobel boots also look good.

DD1 has purple Isobel ones from John Lewis from last winter. Excellent quality and I think they'll do again for this year as I bought them slightly large (thankful for slow-growing children). In fact I've bought JL own brand boots the past 3 winters and they've all been great. Jones the Bootmaker has money off some boots at the moment too so may be worth a look.

M&s ones seem a really good style, but color wouldn't go with any her clothes. Thanks for heads up on Isobel boots, I'm going to order tonight as she can wear for school and then I can afford something a bit more frivolous for weekends etc! Suede look lovely, but she walks into every puddle going! Shall check Jones, they do startrite I think. I see lots of knee high boots but they seem a little grown up for a 5 yo. Or is that just me?!

Bissgard. They are expensive, but so far, a pair of boots have lasted 3dds and will be in good nick for dd4.

Agree on some of the knee high ones looking too grown-up. But then I think a lot of the UK high street clothing for 5 year olds is too mature.

DD has these; she had some last year and after a fruitless trek around the shops for HOURS, I just went on Amazon and bought another pair. They are very hard wearing and nice soft leather.

Bisgaard gorgeous, but sadly I have just 1 girl & 3 boys & they have very different feet. Like the Umi & start rite, tethers, how high up do the Umi come? Hard to figure out sizes but I like Amazon because I can order several sizes & keep using that 20% code with a different email address Lots of choices & I haven't checked Jones yet! Yay.

Failing not being able to get bisgaard, try to get boots that are the same on the bottom iyswim. My dds startrite and clarks school shoes were lasting a term. Pretty poor for a pair of shoes that cost almost £40. I was prepared to pay full price for bisgaard (I get them in the sales, I usually have a key eye for a bargain!), but sales person wouldn't sell the bisgaard to me because she said that my dds feet where the wrong size (humph!) - she should see all the bissgard shoes in our shoe cupboard so I found a pair of startrite shoes that looked the same as the bisgaard school shoes on sarenza.com and so far they have held up really well for a whole term.

If you know what the bisgaard school shoes look like, you'll see how the startrite shoes are different to the normal look of their shoes.

Or another Danish brand. Their shoes are meant for weather worse than ours. I seriously can't fault having spent about £50 on a gold pair of boots. Seemed extravagant at the time, but this is about the fourth year they have been used all winter. They look new, hardly wornonthesole, yet have been worn everyday that wellies haven't.

Yep Clarks are just not worth the dosh. No star trite round here so haven't tried them. Tbf, dd's Ricosta boots are ok on the sole, it's just suede doesn't work with her active lifestyle! I clearly wasn't thinking straight last year. Dd and ds2 both have some Noel shoes which which seem to last very well, they were pricier than Clarks but ds2's school shoes look lovely after 7 weeks of term Whereas I got Clarks ones for ds3 and they're already falling to bits. There's one independent shop near me that does European brands and geox, but it's always such an expensive visit!

I do so love those purple Startrite Chelsea boots but really can't justify buying DD2 another pair of ankle boots. If they came in an adult size 4 though.... . Umi are a great brand too - DD1 has had quite a few of their boots and sandals over the years - all usually greatly reduced on Amazon iirc.

Try Startrite online - they have an outlet where you can get bargains if the sizes available.

Jones had some really nice girls boots on offer when I walked past today. Also M&S had a nice range and they looked pretty substantial.

Am because I'd love DD to be able to wear boots in the winter but she just can't walk in them as they never have enough ankle support

I've just bought her a second pair as she's now outgrown them. The bottom half are very waterproof, easy to get on and off, fairly warm too. Not a great range of colours though.

Others I liked weren't in her size and most of the other good brands were just too much - can't justify £60-70 on her boots. If m&s do a 20% off day I might get some more girly/party boots as well, don't like black on little girls! The barrats ones were a bargain, not leather which I'd prefer. Thanks again all.

My DD has the Timberland boots (not the work type ones you immediately think of - the ones suggested by first poster).

They were £25 on Ebay new. Were meant to be "seconds" but are on absolutely perfect condition. They are leather and look great on.

Just wish they did them in my size :(

I did see some lovely timberland ones, you're right they are very nice. But I don't know what size she would be tbh, amazon only had expensive ones in her size. Might try a couple of the other sites if the 2 I've ordered don't work. I will keep all of these brands in mind for future purchases. Angulus are gorgeous!
Fairly sure Tesco wouldn't be leather would they? Nothing I've ever seen in there is leather. It would be a lot cheaper outfitting 4 dc without that criteria!

I've always found Hush Puppies to be really hardwearing for my DD.
