I got my new boots out yesterday - wore all day at work. I am very pleased with them.

Just got a promo from Dorothy Perkins - 20% off, today only. DPSHOP20

used2bthin · 13/10/2013 15:21

Ooh thanks is Photoshop jumper on this thread?

used2bthin · 13/10/2013 15:32

Argh that should have said topshop!

used2bthin · 13/10/2013 15:39

Sorry just realised you meant double layer skirt! Ok great will go and do some trying on tomorrow maybe. Sounds like topshop will be a good place to start.

FionaJT · 13/10/2013 15:40

I found this in TKMaxx (when I was supposed to be looking for work trousers) which I am very pleased with. It is very flattering on and the wool is nice and soft. www.tkmaxx.com/dresses/grey-striped-jumper-dress/invt/30208558&bklist=icat,4,shop,1,3091

Cheers Lightas and Ducky. I think i like the M&S ones best Blush . I looked at the Gap ones yesterday too so will try them on. I find the trousers in gap need constant washing to tighten them up tho - does anyone know if this is true of the cords too?

What i'd really like - if i could design my own - are cords in a kind of mannish slouch trouser which sit a bit lower on the hip and have pleats - a kind of 40s style. I have some trousers like it from french connection but only in a light material.

MrsKoala · 13/10/2013 17:14

oooh Ambernecterrine i love that leather skirt. I have quite long legs tho so am worried it will be too short. How is the length?

AmberNectarine · 13/10/2013 17:24

Just below knee length on me (5'4")

SuperMuddle · 13/10/2013 18:25

Sorry, haven't read the thread, so don't know if anyone else has mentioned this, but why is this thread coming up under Discussions of the Day under the heading 'Fall Fashion'? Last I checked we were still in Britain, not the US.

Sorry to be pedantic, but it does irritate me mildly. I shall now go off and get a life...

MrsKoala · 13/10/2013 18:30

cheers Amber, it's the split i worry about. I've been caught out before. I'm 5ft 10in and mainly leg so if a skirt is a knee length on most it's mid thigh on me and then a split is right up to my arse crack Shock

AmberNectarine · 13/10/2013 18:55

It's not actually a split but a pleat so there isn't a gap there if thatakes sense...

MrsKoala · 13/10/2013 18:59

oh hurrah! i'm going to order one then, you temptress you! and the v neck next jumpers and the P8 top and some cords from Gap...AND M&S!

NotQuitePerfect · 13/10/2013 19:09

Dangerous thread. Have ordered the Next black suede boots recommended by OP, and the Next soft v-neck jumper in several sizes & colours, plus a new yoga top which I just happened to spot on the website.

Very excited about my parcel arriving tomorrow! Thanks fellow Mnetters Smile

trixymalixy · 13/10/2013 19:13

It is a dangerous thread! I've ordered the Zara jacket and a leather pencil skirt!

trixymalixy · 13/10/2013 19:18

I also bought this top, which looks much better irl, the back detail is lovely. Now I need a statement necklace, any recommendations?

NickECave · 13/10/2013 20:13

Bought some lovely boots in White Stuff with 15% code a few weeks ago. Hummed and haahed for ages as they're not very practical for winter, but love them and have decided to keep.

ColinButterfly · 13/10/2013 20:28

Flat black ankle boots, zip up from Jones are the one!

Whoever made flat shoes fashionable, I love you.

PervCat · 13/10/2013 20:32

they had those boots last year - the briony. I tried them on then realised i didnt need any more. I have some wedge dessert boots( thats what the label on the box said!) from Linea from about twenty years ago, ( or maybe 4) were quite avant garde then!

MissBeehiving · 13/10/2013 20:47

That leather skirt Amber linked to is lovely

Dancergirl · 13/10/2013 21:00

nickecave I bought some White Stuff boots very similar to those last year only in navy and with a side zip. I love them and wear them loads in the winter. What colour did you get? I love the charcoal.

AlfalfaMum · 13/10/2013 21:10

I have those boots from last year too, Dancergirl, they still have them. Very comfy and warm.

Dancergirl · 13/10/2013 22:17

Yes they're fab.

I have just ordered the burgundy henley dress from Hush in a S/M.

Will report back!

MissDD1971 · 13/10/2013 22:57

Trixy you were after a statement necklace. What's your budget and do you like eg ribbons, collars etc?

Oasis and H&M do nice bigger necklaces. I'm too delicate (long neck etc) for proper statement stuff but got v nice chain and Perspex statement necklace from H&M and also orange and gold squares one from oasis. Was this year. Just play with their stuff. Zara has nice ones too.

MissDD1971 · 13/10/2013 22:59

Having said that. Was in dept store Friday after work being 'sold' some necklaces and my word, I just knew they weren't me even though they advised me.... I know my style!

TheInfrequentShopper · 13/10/2013 23:18

Ok, am diving in! As my NN suggests I barely ever buy clothes, but today I got www.butyk.co.uk/prod/show/13006/Shoes_Boots_Boots_Riding_Boots_leather_Outer_shoes_fly_london_Special_FORCES_Stif_P141941000.html these but in lack with black fastenings

And www.jigsaw-online.com/products/fine-knit-zip-cardigan-5128 this and www.jigsaw-online.com/products/modal-cotton-silk-front-raglan-top-7661 this to go with it.

Am now worried I'm going to look like a muttony goth. I'm not 40 yet, but not far off. Am I going to look like a teenage wannabe?
